- This is the story of how this pedal came into existence.
Boost. Drive. Fuzz. Not necessarily in that order.
Designed in collaboration with Resonant Electronic™, Brothers™ is built upon two independent JFET / IC analog channels comprising a total of six unique boost, drive, or fuzz circuits in one small enclosure. The pedal can be routed in thirty-three distinct ways, including mixing them in parallel or changing the order of the effects. As with every Chase Bliss pedal, you can save everything and recall presets instantly, on-the-fly either on the pedal or with MIDI. Every knob and switch is connected to a little digital brain while your guitar signal stays 100% analog the entire time and never gets digitally processed. Since the control of the effect is digital, it opens up unprecedented effects and features that have never been heard or offered in analog stompboxes.

Great job lads.
Really gonna try to learn how to play a distortion pedal now.
Knobs i think u do a pretty decent job so far...eh?;)
you've done fuzz really well! :)
We believe in ya, Knobs
Just found this. I don't have a Brothers but my Graviton and Manifold get daily use +11 years on, and everyone that hears them are blown away. So cool to hear the origin story all these years later.
You had me at Alan Sparhawk.
Just got the pedal and it's f*king AWESOME! Huge sounds, dirt heaven. The boost, the drives, the fuzzes, Channel A and B, everythings just great. You have to play the pedal. Parallel mode is where it shines. Sounds detailed and airy, open and compressed at the same time (silly words).
NAMM 2017 is gonna be LIT
Love you guys, you make great pedals. Thank you. And Alan! So perfect.
So excited about the brothers pedal! Sounds totally different from anything I've heard out there, awesome stuff guys! Cheers!
This pedal is absolutely amazing! Thank you Chase Bliss and Resonant Electronic Design!
Ooooooooooh yeah!!! I'm stoked! I'd love to hear this on bass, though!
I'm 100 percent for sure getting this sick pedal. Should call it the "Brothers Dream Drive!"
It's time. I've waited for these crevasse tones... the in between is where the it lies.
Thanks guys for making 1+1=122.
Stoked!!
The only thing that would have made this any better would have been Mark Kozelek singing over Alan Sparhawk's playing. I've been waiting for this day and "Brothers" will make a nice birthday present (from me to me) when it comes out in late March. It sounds amazing! I've been a fan of the Resonant guys since I heard Greg V demo their pedals. Match made in heaven!
Fuck these drives sound truly amazing. The harmonics coming together are just stunning.
So much yes!!
I LOVE the Neil Young deadman vibe at 7:20 !
Exactly!! That's it! I felt something there too but wasn't quite sure. The Tonal Recall after that Brothers sounds sooooo massive...
That is just amazing. Congratulations on the great design and collab, guys! Sounds really awesome :)
I'd been saving up for a Warped Vinyl. Sounds great and I can MIDI patch change it. Now I'm vexed and I think the Brothers may have postponed that plan for now. One of these, a MIDI box, in combination with the 3 tasty channels of my MIDI switchable Diezel Herbert would give me a whole world of different tones and gain textures all accessible from the touch of a single button on my MIDI controller. That'd totally whoop the ass of what an Axe-FX or similar is best at. Like having a 50+ channel amp. We're both winning either way! 😀 ❤️
P.S. Currently I have a Red Dirt Mini I switch in and out in combo with my other amp channels. It's usually just in combo with channel 2 only just breaking up as I can't control gain amount or volume on a per-patch basis and it doesn't always quite match others without volume jumps etc. This solves that as well as having 6 different 'sounds'.
Piplodocus quick question for ya! If you happen to have tried it, were you able to get the tones of the Red Dirt mini out of the Brothers? I have a Brothers on the way and thought I might pair it with a Red Dirt mini to cover all the ground I ever would need to, but if you can manage TS tones out of the Brothers I may not need a Red Dirt.
I am really pumped for this pedal. I've loved the Field Effects pedals for years now, but to have them in one small box alongside multiple other sounds is brilliant. I do wish you could have found a way to get the price down to $300, but I trust that it was probably just not possible.
Amazing Guys! I whish you all the best! Definitely an amazing pedal!
Thank you. This is what I needed
Sounds killer, love the fuzz!
amazing work.
Good choice with the Glenrothes
Looks and sounds great, Joel!
It's beautiful.
Seriously cool video.
I need to get my hands on one of these!
instatntly hyped!
This looks great - my concern is finding a range of flexible tones with a single tone knob for each stage.
Also, I love kicking on a mid heavy drive on the back end of my always on drive pedal - I think my drive section will now be Brothers + TS clone.
Poor Riverside...
Yeah.. RIP
HuterDerSchwelle yes this clearly blows the over priced and over fizzy Strymon Riverside out of the water
+Finniganmydog amen!
HuterDerSchwelle Sunset changes everything. Hard to decide now.
Please make this again. I dreapt of buying it but i cpuldnt afford it. Now I definitely can't with reverb prices on discontinued pedals. Its perfet for people who have small to medium size boards. Pleeeeeease
please have a bass and lefty guitar ready for me and my bud at namm, always get forgotten at namm for the lefty and low end curse
More Alan Sparhawk would have been great.
yes! the cure! finally!
Holy ShiiiiiiiiiiT!! Guys, wow! Can I have two? wow, sounds freaking awesome! What will the dipswitches do?
change the order of the circuits: A>B or B>A. The other two are for selecting parameters for EXP/CV/Midi
Very cool
Is there a way to use the mix knob to blend the clean signal in with drive instead of just being able to blend two drive channels?
There is, Jacob! What we have been doing is just set up one side with a unity gain and unity volume boost setting. In other words, set up one side so that you can't tell it's on. Then set up the other side with the drive you want to use. Now the mix knob (in parallel mode) will be blending your drive signal and your clean signal. Easy as that!
Another fun thing to do is set up two drives or fuzzes... One with the tone all the way up and the other with the tone all the way down. Parallel mode. Then mix between those two extremes and you'll find a "sweet spot" in there with some very rich tonal quality. Very cool!

wow. just wow...
Keep Rockin' That is way better than me!
Haha, the GAS is strong with this one...how the hell is there not a Vader emoji??😒
I don't usually use distortion but if I had this... Oh my
Glenrothes with ice? ICE? This is blasphemy... But ok, cause the pedal is a killer! ;)
I was going to say the same but I'll forgive them seen as they seem to have made the coolest drive pedal since 1972!! And being a Scotsman (currently sitting about 15 miles from Glenrothes) that means I like this pedal A LOT :)
Yep, day one purchase.
Chase Bliss are £50 above my upper limit. When I rise to that little £50 extra I'll be ordering CB instead of Oto Machines and the like.
bravo
Now, I know Joel is able to stuff an enormous amount of stuff into a 125-C box, but how did he and Peter convince Neil Young to fit in there?
Mark Hammer, this isn't the same Mark Hammer that designed The Crank by any chance is it?
Mark Hammer they got him with "analog heart". after he slipped in they told him about the digital brain...
sold
Would have enjoyed direct recording to be able to distinguish what sweet harmonics come from the expensive amps Alan is overdriving and what come from the pedal.
Won't pretty much any direct recording sound unrealistic and make any pedal sound arse unless it's got digital amp+cab modelling after though?...
yessssss
hot damn!!!
Fuck me - this sounds immense. Am I able to select the presets from a Boss ES-8 or ES-5 or midi controller?
FeralPyg yes, with a chase bliss midi box .
Yes! Any standard MIDI Controller will get the job done. A BOSS ES-8 or ES-5 will be perfect. And, yes, you'll need a MIDI Box. If you want a smaller set up, you can use our new Faves Switcher. It will allow you to store and recall up to 6 presets, plus your live mode for a total of 7 sounds accessible with your foot. No MIDI Box required, just the included TRS cable.

where's the knobs shoutout in the description?
oh baby jesus on a stick
WOW
Well I guess I'm out $350...
These guys are draining my accts. lol. I guess it's good I'm a music teacher. This thing is ridiculous!
Whoever sold you that video idea - hats off to their manipulative sales skills. You should put them in charge of selling the pedals: 1/10 for actually getting on with a demo at 6:12. V.V.Poor
