I am from Mihinpurwa District Bahraich Uttar Pradesh. My region is near Indo-Nepal, and there is Dudhwa Tiger Reserve. We faces many problems. This place is far behind from mainstream development due to FCA, there is MG railway track with only 2 pairs of train (whereas there was earlier 6 pairs, which was reduced due to objection of Forest Department). There's one way road. There are many security forces, which also faces many problems due to not enough infrastructure.

Its a failure of govt towards their foreign policy. "So called strategic projects, of "national importance"" were not be needed if they managed their relations with neighbour well enough. Aren't the forests holds equal importance for nations and the generation to come. Foreign policy can change with the change of rulers but you cannot get back what is called "legacy forests"... In words of Late. S. Bahuguna "Ecology is permanent economy"... the act of eco parks within natural forest is just a gimmick to help benefit the current establishment, even in the late future.

These days every bill is getting passed in the name of "National Security". No matter how harmful the bill is, it still gets passed using this flimsy reason. We failed to maintain good relationship with even a single neighbor and now national security is actually a concern on all borders of India. So for this reason, we must destroy the Himalayas, clear forests, fill up water bodies and build roads everywhere.

Let me give an example of how this afforestation bullshit works. To expand roads in Bangalore after IT boom, the ministry cut huge majestic trees in Bangalore for road widening claiming they will plant 100 samplings for each tree cut. Whether they planted or not no one knows. Say they did plant few (which I saw at outskirts of the city), but by the time the plants became mature they were already under road widening threat and the were cut again. Instead of addressing the root issue - which is better and planned traffic management, goal is short term band aid solutions. act now, think later. If infrastructure is of strategic importance then bring the bill under it's specific ambit. Protect the rest of the forest area. Building infrastructure in core jungle area which increases vehicular activity impacts wildlife, so there needs to be pathways created for wildlife to transit. Prevent illegal mining, timbering. Eco tourism is important, but it should be done in eco friendly manner. I mean does the bill take all this into account and regulate it instead of having a wide spread umbrella statement of strategic importance under which what goes is undefined?

Without its forests humanity is doomed. The bill name is misleading and needs to be renamed as forest destruction act as there is nothing there to actually conserve the forest. Which action in the bill addresses the conservation of the forest? India will need to control ingress of human activities into forest lands. Commercial activities on forest lands is a terrible idea, zoos and parks ?????? Encouraging tourists in reserve park are already a big nuisance for the animals as tourists often misbehave. For infra projects of strategic importance the government should consider a case be case approach.

good move. support it wholeheartedly. Supreme court had ordered demolition of 10% of Gurugram in its interpretation of the earlier law. woudlve rendered thousands of people homeless. why no one highlights such things ? forests are important but aforestation is better than labelling residential areas as forest. imagine if someone said your house is on forest land retroactively by declaring it forest land today ? how would you feel ?

I have noticed that land under control of military is full of thick trees , may be for security reason but it’s fine for ecology.are there wild animals on the border ? This is the true cost of voting for hatred. The riots will end, but the forests will take half a century to grow back, if ever. Hundreds of tribal cultures will be lost. Endless suffering for both man and nature in adivasi cultures living in harmony with nature forever. This will get masked by our President's origins in the senseless debates on prime time.

The roads are not going through all over the forest. This is only to connect each and every part of india with road connectivity so that social communications between all the communities and the boarder issues with pak and china will be easily solved. Tell me one thing, without road infrastructures how the tourism will be possible.
