    This is probably the most informative review on the octave mandolin that I have ever seen. Thanks

    Thanks for this Very Informative video on the Octave Mandolin. I already have a Mandolin (Loar-F type, plus 8 electric Basses, 2 Uke Basses, and 4 Lap Steel guitars), and you just help me make up my mind on the Octave Mandolin... I'm going to order one, just like yours. I also just "liked & Subscribed" to your channel.... it's the first one that I've come across, so I also "saved" you YT channel to my "Luthier" folder...... as I also am a budding luthier. Thank you again, for such an informative video.

      @@Bryankimsey... Thank You for taking time to reply.. I appreciate it. Been looking everywhere for a MBO305... Just about Everywhere... None to be had, and apparently they only run them (build) them twice a year, and of course... seeing it's now a new year, the next batch will cost even more, around a thousand dollars +/-. A little too much for me... hopefully I can find a used one that's in good shape. Anyway... Thanks again.

      Ugh!!!! Sorry to hear that. Stay away from the Gold Tone version. I had two and both had loose braces. They have a longer scale too and are harder to play.

      I've been meaning to talk about the octave for quite awhile and finally got around to it.

    10:41 while I'm not arguing, I hear an entirely different genre from Celtic.
    Such a beautiful sound. Thanks for another great video!

      Well, like I said... I'm not a Celtic player. Maybe I hear Monty Python.
      What genre does it sound to you?!?

      @@Bryankimsey now that you mention it, I did hear the familiar clomp clomp of the coconut horse!
      Rich, smooth, serenade a mariachi on this thing would be incredible!

    Is the octave mando good to accompany a solo vocalist?

    • @Bryankimsey
      @Bryankimsey  10 месяцев назад +1

      It'd be excellent for that

      @@Bryankimsey Thanks, thinking of getting the MDO305E-SB, the new sunburst one with the K and K pickup.
