Sultan Murad (Metin Akdülger) learns that Kösem Sultan wanted to kill him. Sultan Murad learns that his governor has agreed with the physician and sends Emir Çelebi's head to Kösem Sultan (Nurgül Yeşilçay). Valide Kösem Sultan, who learned that Sinan Pasha was a traitor, realizes that he has been exposed. Helpless corners. Bağdat’tan dönen Sultan Murad, aldığı savaş yaralarıyla iyice takatten düşer. Hastalığı iyice ilerleyen Sultan Murad yatağa düşer. Sultan Murad’ın vaziyetinin kötü olduğunu öğrenen Kösem Sultan oğlunun başında bekler. Ana oğul hasta yatağında hesaplaşır.

Murad and Kosem are not being true to themselves! Murad killed his brother because he wanted his mother’s love for himself. He said as much! And Kosem wanted power and her sons to be safe, but from Osman time she should know she cannot have both. She said those disowning words (6:35) to Osman too after he killed Mehmet. And Osman died after those words were spoken; foreshadowing what to come!
The Murad series always leave me crying. Murad wants his mother to be devoted to him but not as a puppet for power. Murad cannot stand betrayal including the idea that his mother will replace him with a more competent son. Oh, such a competetive world they live in!

Metin agdulker acting is so good that we can imagine into history. After Suleiman only murad management is good in politics but bit cruel even his enemies kneeled down before him. He saw the past of his late brother Osman then he decided not to be merciful he get everyone on line that not to be crossed. A True leadership qualities but something missing in all Ottomans sultans. But what?...

What i love about this scene and I'm general is how Kosem become someone she never want to became, Safiye Sultan. I don't know if writers do that on purpose but.trough the series she was compared with Safiye, her way is the same as Safiye,i love it.
It was done on purpose to show how power changes a person theire was a scean in the first season when safiye was in prison after the failled coup she asked kosem if she thinks she would be able to resist the thirst for power or would it consume her too
But she is nothing like safiya.

I never truly understood murad nor kosem. I mean what the heck was the problem? Kosem was valide and murad was on the throne? Wasnt this something every mother and son actually wanted?

That’s how it should be. But the problem was that kosem wanted to have the same authority as murad and couldn’t stand the idea of not being in charge. Kosem at the beginning wanted a strong and competent sultan which murad was but since she had the regency as murad was a kid she became obsessed with power and couldn’t stand that murad ended her regency and took full control of the state as he got older and wanted to end the corruption and rebellions that was taking place. Every time kosem tried to take control murad had to beat her down and make her bow because u don’t want to be known as a guy who hides behind his mother skirt when u r the sultan because it can get u disrespected and even killed like his brother osman. Murad became more strict and install fear in everyone that would oppose him: if kosem just backed murad and accepted her position as the person in charge of the harem than none of this would happen. Obviously she didn’t oppose him in real life but u know drama

He should just have ended her life. Anastassia lost her innocence and her way. She used the excuse of protecting the empire for power. She ruled as regent to Murad when he was small. So she loved that power. Absolute power is intoxicating.
Not sure about that. Executing family members always backfires in MC/MCK - eg executing Mustafa cost Chahangir’s life, Ayse cost the lives of Hanzade & Ahmed, murdering Farya cost the lives of Kosem’s twin grandsons & executing Kasim cost Murad his health. So perhaps he should have locked Kosem away in Maiden Tower for life

This scene shows Murad after all these years saying Kosem had no effect on him being a lie, she still does, after all shes the mother he used to look up to, and he feels like the little kid his mother was proud of and loved so much. Kosem murdered Murad’s wife leaving his twin sons unprotected to be kidnapped & murdered. I don’t understand how he can be so lenient. I think ordering her to life in Maiden Tower sounds about right. Given how severe her crimes were, not punishing her most severely would have damaged Murad’s standing as sultan if word ever got out

A parent's duty is to love, protect and nature a child not harm them. If a parent breaks that covenant then they deserve whatever happens to them.
