So wonderful is the creation of Our God!
The float planes made me homesick. Being from Labrador Canada it was usual to be around or on a float plane. As a nurse I did a few medivacs on a float plane. Before becoming a nurse I use to work docking and fueling and loading and unloading and cleaning them. We had to pump the excess water out of the floats when they docked. By the way, I could eat salmon 3 times a day every day! Great video and awesome wildlife and scenery!

I remember 52 yrs ago my family drove to Alaska on the then, gravel, Al-Can hwy. My parents had been talking about our friends having horses & that we'd go bear back riding. I was terrified to ride on the back of a bear! 😂 Of course, no rides on bears, but some of my fondest memories was of that family vacation. 💗

I enjoyed every minute of this video! Your photography was amazing, I felt like I was watching a regular tv program. Alaska is so beautiful and I agree about staying in one place to enjoy your time on a vacation thoroughly. I know Zander must have some typical 4 yr old moments but oh my gosh, I love that little child. How can you ever stay serious with him? I love his infectious personality, you two are doing a great job as parents and it shows in your little son. I’m not sure which I enjoyed watching more...your trip or listening to Zander! 💞. Jeannine - how I love your videos. You and Nolan and Zander are the best family. I would much rather watch a wholesome video of your family travels than anything the shallow entertainment media has to offer. That is the reason why RUclips is my only source of entertainment. PS. My husband and I are the parents of a (grown) son - Zander reminds me of our son Andrew when he was a youngster. So much joy raising him! Also i was raised a Mennonite- not far from where Nolan was born (Swift Current, Saskatchewan). My husband son and I are now involved in our home church - evangelical Pentecostal church in California.

I am enjoying your adventures just as much as you did. I had the privilege to go to Alaska two different times. Once on a cruise up the Inside Passage, and another trip where my friends and I flew to Anchorage (from Philadelphia) and toured around for almost two weeks. Yes, Alaska can be wet and dreary, but when the sun comes out, watch out!! We had four beautiful days when we were at Denali National park and saw Mt. McKinley the whole time. Our God is an awesome God, and created all things well!
I thought you looked great in the black and red checked! But then those two colors are my favorite. I don't know if I technically look good in it either but I wear it anyway because I love it. This past winter, I really got into the buffalo plaid print. It's a good thing I have a cabin in the mountains where a bunch of it seems to fit and not be out of place. :-) Mugs, blankets, tablecloth, tea towels. :D Your adventure looks so fun! I would love to visit Alaska at some point in my life if I"m able. I think it would be fun to do an RV trip across the country to get there and then to visit lots of different areas that are drivable and do day trips to those places that aren't drivable. Don't know if that will ever happen but we shall see. It might need to be for our 30th anniversary which is coming up in 5 short years!

What a fantastic vlog. My four trips to Alaska with my husband were all amazing. He LOVED to fish and I'm pretty sure his Alaska fishing experiences were the most memorable of his life. We both loved to soak in the beauty of God's creation. Our third trip to Alaska was one of the few vacations we ever took that was JUST a vacation, without any other obligations (my husband was a minister and we traveled to many different countries in the ministry work). This video brought back so many memories. I suppose I'll never get to go back to Alaska in person now that my husband has gone on to Glory, but I thoroughly enjoyed going along on YOUR vacation. Thank you! Isn't the color of the glacier water amazing?

Alaska is beautiful! My husband and I were there a few years ago and visited a few of the same places! And took the float plane to see the bears and fish! It is truly amazing! I want to go again!
All I keep thinking in my head is..... God has created a masterpiece. How beautiful Alaska is. Just amazing. I am so happy for you and your family. You three have got to the chance to experience such beautiful nature. Thank you Father God for giving us this. Oh one day. Alaska is my bucket list. But if it never happens it's okay. Because God has still blessed me in so many ways in my life.

What an amazing adventure! Xander handled it so WELL!!! Those bears are adorable. Loved seeing the little one swim out to mom and climb on her. Wonder if she had that same feeling we get of, "Your pushing me under...." Never liked salmon but everything is so much better fresh!!! Marriage is not a competition, Jeanine. Doesn't matter who caught the first fish. lol. Loved the music that accompanied the nature scenes. Really touching. Great video!

@@theMennoniteMom Just be careful. That kind of "fun" can raise doubts, hurt feelings etc. Any humor at someone else's expense can sour fast. Didn't see Nolan laughing.
@@pama.6410 don't try and cause trouble competition is healthy it is good to see both parents win and lose anyone whose ego is bruised by losing has a problem Nolan looked like he was thoroughly enjoying it.No one should ever have to,lose as the other party can't cope with not winning. It is not good parenting to always let your kids win they need to learn to lose even at snakes and ladders and lose without a tantrum and this needs to be modelled by both parents so they can be happy if mum wins and happy when dad wins and Dad is happy for mum to win and mum is happy if Dad wins. Bad losers are a pain in the neck
@@sarahmacrae8277 Competition is healthy in certain contexts and yes it important to be able to handle wins and losses maturely and peacefully or even with a sense of humor and self deprecation and I am no advocate of letting everyone win at kids' games and definitely believe it is great to help kids learn to understand the reality of "winning and losing" as the world sees it, so you have just misunderstood what I am saying. I am trying to help Jeanine AVOID trouble. This is a "friendly jab" mentioned twice. Over time these can undermine relationships. "Whatever is good, whatever is beautiful..." think and talk of these things. There is so much male/female strife in the air that we don't need to feed it.
@@pama.6410 you are reading far far too much into a non event, firstly there was no jab friendly or otherwise then you talk about male female strife none of which is remotely applicable these are far stronger words than merited even if situation was as you saw it, which I don't think was accurate. it is obvious than they have a mutual respectful relationship with appreciation on both sides as to what the other achieves. And even if what you imply is true that Nolan wasn't happy then it is Nolan that has the problem not Jeanine and it would be him that needed to change attitude and grow up instead of being a petulant child about it. However neither is the case you are seeing trouble where there is none and warning about it under the guise of helping when actually you are sowing seeds of doubt about perfectly normal behaviour and banter in a loving relationship, maybe this is because of your own history when people have not known when to stop and you have been a victim of non funny put down humour and that is difficult and like other negative experience can make us super vigilant about even hints of it, however it can also make us see red flags when there are none as the vast majority can exchange banter in fun and it works both ways and is fun and nothing more and adds something to the relationship rather than detracts Everyone else in comments sees a super happy and supportive family enjoying themselves. The majority isn't always right but if we see things differently to the other 99% maybe it is us that made the mistake in interpretation

I completely agree when traveling with a young child that a home base is vital for their rest and well being. We traveled to Gatlinburg Tennessee when our youngest son was 8. Having a place to call home where we could take naps and decompress on long days was key for all of us. One night we were too tired to go out for dinner and I didn’t have the energy to prepare a meal, so we ordered pizza and had an indoor picnic. It was a fun bonding moment for us.
Your trip is a once in a lifetime dream for most and the memories of this trip will be cherished for years to come!
That sounds like a fun vacation. And I agree, those moments like ordering takeout sometimes are the best! yes, we are blessed to have made it to Alaska.
