- Here we pick up exactly where we left off by the caves and set up camp and had dinner and tested boil times on the Soto WindMaster and JetBoil Stash pot and MSR Pocket Rocket Deluxe and Fire Maple Petrel stove. Scotland Scottish Highlands on our hiking backpacking adventure, it was a very windy day and heading to Inchnadamph. the one section not actually filmed as too trechurous to mess around on was a slab of rock about 35 degree angle and needed walking along holding on carefully...
I joined @ChrisTownsendOutdoor for a section of his CWT in the Scottish Highlands for some backpacking and wild camping with a tarp and ultra light setup trying to avoid the midges and stay dry in camp DAY 3

Enjoyed the boil test !!!! I use the windmaster and fire maple petrol pot find it spot on, might look out for a jet boil pot to get it even quicker
Mind on most camps I just chill and use my speedster stove, what’s the rush lol

Nice I still premy jet boil and have a crusader mug I use and army stove and fire dragon fuel as back up in case gas goes which happened a couple of camps ago

Having enough gas is tricky to judge
Chris is using a Soto but with a pot from a jetboil snap! His pot from the snap has a lot to do with the speed but obvs the Soto is a good burner

I use a garmin 62s as a back up on my map i got off ebay second hand with the map sim with it
that cave is usually wet. most of its going down the bigger hole but through the rocks. you cant get far down that one but the second longest system in Scotland is just upstream from there.
Chris was saying there's not many not much limestone up there

@@TonyHobbs just a few patches. the next valley south has Scotlands longest system. theres a patch on the island of Skye and again at Durness. safe travels to you

Generally no. Been lucky never had one to dig out of me had one walking on leg another on foot and a couple I saw in bed with me . Hopefully they were only ones lol never seen any fastened on. I usually wear trousers but will go bare foot if warm enough and soft short grass around camp
the Traligill valley is bad for greenhead horse flies

jetboil is the prem brand it will beat your ali express knock offs
Not sure Ali sells this? Fire Maple petrel.
Absolutely JB and MSR similars are very good and I use all them or some. This was a lighter option for this trip.

I sent it back for a more expensive but lighter more powerful one totally different brand not on amazon called msc mobile solar cell I got the 21w three panel version 380g. Unfortunately it cost me a lot more and only time tells if worth it...
