I LOVED this performance! Ryan Gosling killed it! Best Oscar performance ever!🏆♥️🎉
Gosling planned the whole thing, including using Marilyn Monroe's "diamonds are a girls best friend" for the staging.
They only rehearsed for a week and only had one run-through on stage, and the 4 movie-Kens didn’t fly in until the general rehearsal the day before. Ryan Gosling called and asked them if they would come 3 days before. Brilliant how it all came together! He planned the whole thing, the Marilyn Monroe tribute, to have Margot Robbie, Greta Gerwig and America Ferrara placed in the front row (they were seated elsewhere during the rest of the show) to pay tribute to them, his big sister Mandi by his side whose head he puts the hat on (she’s almost always by his side wherever he has premieres or award shows), she’s been his date to the Oscars for years, as has his mother (he and his partner Eva Mendes never do public stuff together), going to his friend and 3-time co-star Emma Stone (last was in La La Land) with the mic, getting La La Land choreographer Mandy Moore on board, planned all the camera shots and got Slash and Wolfgang van Halen to come as well. Just a brilliant, talented, kind, class act guy with a great quirky sense of humour. Yes, I’m a big fan in case you were wondering. 😄

I love this performance! The T is not pronounced in Margot.
From what I've read, they actually didn't have that much time to practice this. I know they started brainstorming it a while back, but the actual practice schedule was tight. Loved it and think it one of the most entertaining moments from any awards show. My fave is still Neil Patrick Harris' opening to the 2013 Tony Awards, but this is hugely entertaining, too. :) For me, the Barbie movie was the most entertaining movie of the year and I love that it touched a lot of people deeply.

Neil Patrick Harris’ Tony opening is one of my favourites as well. As is Jimmy Fallon’s La La Land-themed Golden Globes opening from 2016. Am not a huge James Corden fan, but loved his 2 Tony-openings as well. Hugh Jackman’s card board Oscar-opening the year of the first writers’ strike is another one and Billy Crystal’s many Oscar openings are just classics. Have a look at some of these, if you haven’t seen them. They’re worth the time.
Now we just need Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Florence Pugh, Timothee Chalamet, Anne Hathaway, and Gal Gadot to appear in a Barbie sequel, with Emma Stone as Barbie’s best friend Midge who’s in love with Ryan’s Ken, and Cillian Murphy as Human Ken in the real-world, who’s Sasha’s (Ariana Greenblatt) teacher, and the love interest of Margot’s human stereotypical Barbie (Barbara Handler) in a Barbie sequel whenever Greta and Margot are planning on doing it right after when Greta gets done filming Chronicle of Narnia on Netflix.
I DO hope that the original actors like America Ferrera, Ariana Greenblatt, Kate McKinnon, Will Ferrell, Kingsley Ben-Adir (who also played Raggae singer Bob Marley in Bob Marley: One Love) Scott Evans, Alexandra Shipp, Michael Cera, Dua Lipa, and John Cena (Mermaid Ken) appear in the sequel too.
Also, I think they should bring back Mark Ronson to compose and write more songs for the sequel (probably make it a musical this time) and probably for a Ken movie and Allan spin-off.
We definitely need a musical broadway. Let’s start a petition!
