Billie Eillish and Finneas won the Oscar for Best Original Song for the second time before the age of 30! Ryan Gosling appeared with Justin Timberlake on the Mickey Mouse Club, along with Brittany Spears, Christina Aguilera, and J C Chavez. He also starred in the musical La La Land.
Seems like the Barbie cast had tons of fun all the way through production & beyond. I hadn't realized Slash was on the song on the movie soundtrack. Wolfie Van Halen, too (back to back w Slash on stage at the end of this). Ryan Gosling is a triple threat- actor/singer/dancer like someone out of old Hollywood. I thought it was awesome that the other main Kens from the movie got to be part of this performance, too. Barbie didn't get enough awards but won the hearts of the people, both as a movie and in this fun, super-memorable performance.
Interesting when people call someone like Ryan's singing "he can hold a tone". He is singing live at a very high level. This is how amazing singers sound when they sing live while also moving around as much as he do. :)
Many people never realized that Gosling could actually sing. 😂 I’ve heard him on RUclips clips and on the Dead Man’s Bones album. Regret not catching him live though. He can play guitar really well, some piano and several other instruments.
He was also in the Mickey Mouse club with Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera so that tells you right there that you can actually sing a little bit to be able to do this😊

Ryan came up with the concept for the staging- he was inspired by Diamonds by are a girls’ best friend. He wanted all the Barbie girls to be front and centre. I am glad it was his sister Mandi was the one who got Ryan’s hat. He has described her as his original barbie in his life. It was funny that you jokingly compared him with Justin Timberlake, Ryan lived with Justin for a year when the two were on Mickey Mouse Club together. Ryan was part of a music duo called Dead Man’s Bones. Very indi, spooky sounding. Have a look into it. Like others have mentioned, he was in LaLa Land in 2017 Oscar Season. He declined to perform that year. His costar Emma Stone is the one he went to with the mic before he kissed the camera guy’s hand.

So a bit like Barbie- 2 of the songs came from the same movie. So the two La La Land songs were combined into one performance that John Legend performed. He was in the film and the music producer for the film. Ryan and Emma introduced the performance. The video is on the Oscars RUclips channel.

Ryan lived with JT because being from Canada, Ryan’s mother couldn’t stay in the USA with him due to fact of his sister and her work back in Canada. JT’s mother was Ryan’s guardian during the Mickey Mouse Club filming that one year. Ryan’s mum did try and live with him the first year of filming.
