Hey Shesez. This is gonna sound pretty weird, but there's a little something about these videos that I absolutely love. Whenever you finish talking about an off camera secret or something, you'll have your audience look it at for a little while longer before you start speaking about the next one. I have no idea why, but it's just fantastic and makes the video more enjoyable. Thanks for this series, keep up the great work.
Nice work! I love Punch-Out!! And, I gotta say, Piston Honda reading the Sailor Moon manga is one of the last things I ever expected to see in a Nintendo game.
You can actually see mac’s head and eyes track the boxers if you look hard enough. He also always tracks the real great tiger when he’s doing the clone attack!
I love every single one of these videos, this episode was especially exciting because of the discovery of the Sailor Moon manga hidden away in the book Piston Honda is reading. Keep up the good work Shesez! Can't wait to see more!
hey quick question so if you look behind super macho man during his fight, does his ass actually have jiggle physics like in his contender intro?? thank you
Well, well, well. Punch-Out!! The game that started this whole crazy show in the first place. Sweet memories. You've grown so much from then with better episodes each and every week. Great episode and thanks for the blast from the past :)
It´s motivating to see how game developers really put effort on thier jobs, even with an apparently silly boxing game like this one. Everything in the game is design to look realistic, even they add eyes to Little Mac so they can check if his overall positioning and sight urh... gestures? look human. ALso cool vid guys!
I ALWAYS wanted to know if the characters had full 3D models, because it makes me wonder if someone who knows enough about Wii game modding could create a true vs. mode, with each contender selectable as an opponent.
2:30 That same technique was used to render crowds in the Guitar Hero games (at least on the Playstation 2. They may have used different methods on the newer consoles)
Amazing job discovering those manga pages, it was really neat to see the 2-D audience members up close, I didn't even know DK was in the crowd, and also That shader technique used for the audience is goddamn mind-blowingly cool. I love stuff like that.
Hey, you know the opponents do a minor victory animation, when they knock you down temporarily. I’d love to see that. You know when the ref is counting down, and Mac’s trying to get up?
With regards to the squirrel, it's also worth mentioning that skeletal meshes are more expensive to render because each vertex has to be interpolated and transformed based on the weights of the bones every frame. This is also why off-screen characters often freeze instead of just playing an idle animation.
Mac's eyes actually look at the opponent because you can always see the opposite Mac's eyes when playing multiplayer, and it would be weird for Mac to just stare blankly at wherever his head is facing.
I smiled when you said Summoning Salt was in this one. I only discovered his videos one or two months ago, and it's great to see that both these channels are really starting to pick up steam.
wow thanks a lot man, punch out is one of my all time favorite franchises, we definitely need a new game, it's being 8 years since nintendo gave us some of the best quick think and punch action
nice touch with the extra off-screen bits at the end. i was even just thinking, "aw i wished he would have showed us Aran Ryan's off screen se- oh hey!"
@@achannel467 No, I'm referring to Piston Hondo, which has pictures from sailor moon, which people found and sued Nintendo for using, which cost nintendo a few million dollars
Not only is this video special because it was done because of Genyo Takeda retiring but Shesez...! You posting that certain video of you going outside of the boundaries of Punch Out Wii and it getting popular on reddit helped you launch Boundary Break! Not only has Genyo Takeda gave you lovely childhood memories but he's invertedly also helped Boundary Break come to be. It's amazing. Also, I loved how you guys not only covered Punch Out Wii but also the other older punch outs in the series. It adds so much more value to the video because of the multiple games in the series being shown! This video was really great, ahh.
Me and my girlfriend would love a Boundary Break of Kingdom Hearts! She's guiding me through my 1st playthrough and I have to imagine there's a lot of fun little secrets here. Can't wait for your next video Shesez!
The best example of 6:24 is in the original Half Life, in the chapter “Blast Pit.” When you first encounter the Tentacle, it grabs onto a scientist, who eventually gets pulled to his doom. The scientist’s animation is out of sync with the Tentacles animation, though this was fixed in Half Life Source. (which probably one of the only things HLS did better than the original) Speaking of Half Life, you should do an episode on HL1 and its expansions!
This is my first time seeing one of your videos and you got my hopes up for a minute that there was a Mike Jones sprite edit hidden in Punch-Out!!. Darn.
The posing of the characters was likely a case of "do the whole thing so it looks right". By posing the entire model, it makes the character's visible pose look more authentic.
It's really nice looking at the wii version of punch out from another angles, the animations for the boxers and the 3 models are so well made that it almost feels like a waste that the camera is pretty much fixed all the time
Hey Shesez! I just binge watched your series and have a couple games that you might wanna check out! Halo 3 has a lot of off-camera secrets. I used to glitch out of the maps and find a ton of cool stuff! As a new owner of Mortal Kombat XL, after seeing your MK2011 video I've been interested in that too. Thanks for the series, cheers!
I didn't even know DK was in the audience before his fight. I mean, I've only seen a few let's plays of it, but even if I were playing it, I don't think I would've noticed since I'd be too busy concentrating on the fight.

Piston Honda loves to tune into Sailor Moon. Because that cartoon has got the boom anime babes that make him think the wrong thing.
