@@davidthomas6859 sorry I am terrible I have made a few vids when out but have forgotten to press record a few times and I haven’t edited them yet. I like to set myself tasks and they have to be done before anything else and sometimes it takes me forever, I run our local Cub pack and I had a lot of organising to get ready for us starting back this week after over a year away, as we were restricted by COVID guidelines. Back to normal now hopefully, gotta a couple of fossil, bottle and a little mud larking coming and a DIY Sea Glass experiment we are working on atm 💪
@@davidthomas6859 been waiting for a 12minute video to upload sins last night. Iv tried to upload it again today, 3 hours later and it still hasn’t uploaded 🤨 Hopefully it will be done so we can go out! Lol
Thanks for watching and giving it a go 🙏 We’re your stones flat or were they pebbles? Definitely 80 grit is where you wanna take your time to get it prefect flat with no big marks
An enjoyable fossil to behold and hold I bet it’s a very tactile piece you prepared from a “ dry “ looking ammonite. Did you get a new toothbrush from the shops when you collected your son ! Ok come on it’s Christmas I couldn’t resist that 😁
Hahaha hohoho 🤣🤣🤣🎅🎅🎅 These are my very favourite fossil to find and are one of the only loose ammonites to be found on the beach. They are super rare and the weather conditions have to be just right for the sea to spit them out, they are amazing when you pick them up and hold them to the sun to see them lite up 🤩😍
I feel your struggle, beach worn ammonites are not common on the Isle of Wight at all 😬 If you have any damaged ammonites you could possibly grind and polish those 🤔
what a change,beautiful...:-)
Thank you 🙏
Give it a go, you must have something to play with 😉
Looks Awesome after that bit of elbow grease
Cheers buddy, well worth the elbow grease, much better than the elbow ache from prepping monsters 😜
Beautiful results on that Ammonite, sutures pop amazing.
Thank you, it’s amazing what changes it makes
Best yet, happy days 👍
Thanks for watching, I have another method using a car buffer that I’ll share in the warm weather 😉
@@WightFossilTours cant wait 👍👍
That’s cracking Jim,gorgeous ammo.👌⚒
Cheers buddy, been saving this one for ages, not many fossilise to the centre
💪🤩
Been waiting for more videos Jim,have you not been out?

Thank you 🙏
I’m so happy you loved it 😊
If you need any farther tips please ask
Well done! I did a few Petoskey stones with that method and they shined up nicely but next time I'll probably go longer on the 80 grit.
Thanks for watching and giving it a go 🙏

@@WightFossilTours They were pretty smooth to begin with but ended up with some white spots
@@RagnarRocks a bit of wax can help hide the white spots

@7:38 lmao "not quite a trip to the dentist" (instead of 230, tooth hurty)
Brilliant. Now all I have to do is find some sea worn ammonites 😂

Thank you 🙏 these come from the Isle of Wight
