      Unfair? I hear you you want to lay in his arms, but unfair? I don't know about that word under the context. Entitled much!
      Animals being kept in filthy cages and prisons' metal floors all their life and then scalded into water and slaughtered because people somehow believe they share the same anatomy with a lion, that's unfair.
      We humans have it easy. Hardly anything unfair about being a human.

He brings so much originality to the table, doesn’t follow other people and generic trends. He naturally thinks different from most people and combines that with innovative eccentric intelligence. In present times, there’s very little originality. You inspire me Jim!

      @ninaj6051 2 года назад +7

      @@Sycophants_should_suffer He wasn't really that, he even criticized the movement. The Doors were dark underground getting so popular for the reasons Morrison hated, though he liked the attention and being wanted to a certain point in time. People don't get how young he was. I don't as well in a complete sense, as he's 2 generations before me, and my mom even remembers him as already dead, as she was only 8 then. So, he sensed something is wrong and started changing, maturing in a way when he went to Paris, and shortly prior to that, but he never got a chance to complete that, to break on through to the other side completely, though he tried and tried. I think that's his tragedy. And he was 3 years younger than I am now, I still can't believe it. I look at him similar to 40+ people who are now alive.

      His attorney and an ex girlfriend, after he died, both said that a man his parents knew molested him when he was 11. His mother was a social climber and the molester was prominent in the community. When he told his mother she got mad and accused him of lying. Apparently he began drinking in junior high after this experience. He stopped drinking when he was in college. He met the love of his life in college and she didn't like drinking. He also was happy when with her and didn't need it. The day he got out of college his parents cut him off financially when they found out he was in a band and not going to graduate school. He ended up on the street homeless for months. He never spoke to his parents after this but continued with his brother and sister. He became depressed and went back to drinking. His love dumped him. When he became successful he tried for several years to get her back. At 25 when he realized she wasn't going to take him back his drug/alcohol abuse increased. One of his band mates said he had mental illness. When they told him he wouldn't live to 30 drinking 2 to 3 bottles of whiskey a day, he said life for him is painful and when you die the pain ends. He did have a girlfriend for years but it was the college girlfriend that he wanted. Years after he died she said he was her great love but he was sad and addictive and she didn't want that

      Although this is when they were just starting out. It notices how different he was, how he stands out from the other three, even in the manner of his stroll towards the camera. He's in another world, rather whimsical. 'Name?' Jim. 'Occupation?' Um...
      The pause and he looks up as he contemplates and then gives that cheeky grin, it's as if he could have been anything, he could have said anything, he could have chosen to be anything. Here, though, he was the poet and frontman of The Doors.

Why (other than it was the Hippies-n-Psychedelic Drugs Days) do you think he did drugs, although alcohol was his real ‘demon.’?? “It’s better to burn-out, than fade away.” Jim was the result of a tragic [Shakespearian! ...& Jim liked introspection & soliloquy , added to his Nietzsche, Foucault & Philosophy!] confluence of Free Spiritedness, Lost & EVER Searching Persona and Never Enough Highs. In Paris, he began to actually look better, less ‘Physically Sculpted’ & more Rounded [inwardly & outwardly], yet his inner organs just couldn’t take the strain he’d subjected himself to. It's amazing how Jim Morrison continues to fascinate people and draw new fans every year! I actually met Jimmy in Paris in '71. I don't have the exact date, but it was around mid June. He came stumbling out of the Les Deux Magots bar as my buddy and I were coming in. Nobody was with him. He had a lot of shit in his hands (notebooks, keys, papers) and he dropped it where it all splayed across the sidewalk. I picked it up for him, which is when I noticed who he was. God, he was fat. He was disoriented drunk and ended up going back into the bar with my buddy and me. We stayed in there at least 4-5 hours drinking. Jimmy alternated between beer and Chivas. He was very quiet, which is understandable considering the volume of alcohol that must have been in his system. He seemed cordial when he did speak or say something, although we could rarely make out any of the words. I do remember him saying, "The Devil lives and shits in your eyes. Yours, mine, everybody's". I have no memory of leaving the place and woke the next morning with a hangover of biblical proportions. Some people have told me this guy probably wasn't Jimmy, but I know it was. I was stone sober when I walked into the place and, even grossly overweight, it was clearly Jimmy Morrison. Both Jimmy and my buddy are dead now. At 74, I soon will be too. But, I've been able to tell my tale about meeting the great Jimmy Morrison.

      deanna banana thats why he started to grow the beard and gain weight. As a way of saying “here! Try and love me now!” You know? Jim just wanted to be loved and accepted for himself and not the rockstar they portrayed him as. Sometimes i think he wanted to die that night. I wish he never did. I owe this man everything. Along with the rest of the doors.

    It's sad to hear in Jim Morrison's statement about how the Doors' music felt to him the alienation of his childhood: "The mood I get … is a heavy, sort of gloomy feeling … Like of someone not quite at home, not quite relaxed … aware of a lot of things but not quite sure of anything. I’d like to do one [song] of just ... feeling totally at home". His father was a navy admiral and political conservative and it seems he and Jim did not get along. I recall reading somewhere that Jim felt smothered by the austere environment he grew up in; much of the passion in his music and his addictive, self-destructive path leading to a young death can be explained by his reaction to the childhood trauma of alienation and anxiety.

    Sounds so much like me right now, I've always been vigilant but I'm 18 now and have no idea what I want to do with my life anymore
    I mean yeah I'd love marrige and kids but career-wise I'm clueless. I always wanted to sing, but never told anyone or sang in front of people by myself before. I take cosmetology so I can get a job one day, but now I'm just lost.

    Jim Morrison was super brilliant, and known to be. He read incessantly, had stacks of books all over his small apartment. He loved Proust, Byron, Rimbaud, and the "Beat" writers, Kerouac, Ginsberg and Burroughs, among others. He was a poet, and could quote many book's and Author name by one reading one sentence from the book. I read about him when I was a teenager, and I read many of the authors he read because of that. He was really an interesting young man, and yes, absolutely beautiful too. He wasn't always beautiful, he was a chubby kid, and I think that's probably why he seemed to not take the rock star thing so seriously (?) He was also really in to history, and greatly admired Alexander The Great, who he had his hair cut in a style to replicate.
    I love The Doors, just beautiful music.

      He was chubby for a while, but he was a cute kid with sweet face most of the time, if you look at his photos.

    • @ninaj6051
      @ninaj6051 2 года назад +3

      I don't know where he's chubby, and I've seen many photos of his early life. But, he was deemed difficult early on, in school especially, he made trouble there, and I don't know if he was popular due to it. He was a weirdo but learned enough body language to be desirable to others so that he could get away with it. I think also as the oldest child he took it the hardest from his strict, traditionalist parents, but his siblings were different, and his sister says she thought he was quite fun. I guess he provided some kind of relief to his siblings from a traditional boxed, yet always moving household. I mean, I don't know whether he was ever insecure about his looks, as his first serious relationship was with a beauty queen, who herself was quite wanted I can imagine.
