Bro, as a portuguese, I can tell you this was the first time I saw someone trying to eat a Francesinha without fork and knife! This was hilarious!! But don't give up on it. Next time, try it as it should be eaten: on the restaurant with an ice cold beer

I´ve started realising that it´s becoming "normal" among tourists to (try to) eat Francesinha with their hands! Maybe they kind of fooled by what it is, a sandwich, and dont forget that, for example, English speaking countries are popular for eating very elaborated sandwichs, like big and massive burguers with no fork and knife, so they go for it bare hands! :P It should be us, the portuguese and specially from Porto, to help them. :)

Holy shit. the architecture is crazy there. like literally every building is unique. Porto just jumped into my top 5 cities to visit. One of your best videos.

@@johnstevens5335 You gotta eat a good Francesinha. Search about them, personally i prefer a "sweeter" sauce (tipically made in Braga). So I would recommend "Taberna Londrina". But please search about good Francesinhas and try to avoid tourist traps.

Dishes you MUST try next time you go to Portugal.
1) Beef A Casa...which can be with either a thin steak or a thicker one, with a fried egg on top, Portuguese style chips/fries usually thinly cut full potato size so actually looking like chips, sometimes a side of rice, then topped off with pickeled veggies. What makes it is a creamy mustard sauce loaded with garlic which brings the entire dish together...without the sauce its not the dish.
2) Portuguese Chourico. Grilled up sliced on a nice fresh Portuguese bun. Amazing sandwich
3) Bifana. Must try one with the caramelized and or grilled onions on a fresh Portuguese style soft bun. I know you had one in thia video but I wouldn't consider that to be truly traditional. Also try one with a thicker piece of pork.
4) Roasted Portuguese Piripiri chicken with rice and potatoes/ chips and a salad. Pretty classic dish. Would consider this a nice lunch or dinner.
5) Carne de Porco à Alentejana is a classic Portuguese dish made from tender cubes of pork, crispy fried potatoes and littleneck clams simmered in white wine sauce. It’s topped with black olives, fresh cilantro and jardineira, which is a medley of pickled carrots, red peppers and cauliflower.
6) A desert called Natas do Céu is a traditional Portuguese dessert that translates to "Heaven's Cream" or "Cream from Heaven." It is a sweet and creamy dessert made with layers of crumbled Maria biscuits or ladyfingers, sweetened whipped cream, and a custard-like mixture made with condensed milk, eggs, and butter.

Hey Spanian, Go to Malta. I think you'll enjoy the food there. I haven't been there since 2009, so I'd say things have probably changed a lot, but when I visited I really enjoyed the pastizzi I got across the road from Mosta Church. Perhaps I'm being biased, but nothing I've had overseas has come close to the quality of produce in Australia and New Zealand. That's why when I go overseas, I appreciate it for what it is and enjoy the cultural experience, but never expect the food to be as amazing as we have in oz. We really have it good here. 🙂
Malta has the best kebabs I've ever had in the world! Lol, they have so much toppings you can choose from which makes a big difference

Pasteis de nata, sopa da pedra, costoletas de porco. Everything closes down of course from 3pm till about 6pm. Slower paced compared to Lisbon. Fantastic weather fantastic food great people 👍. Beauracracy is deadly in Portugal getting simple things like a license renewal or anything involving government authorities is a nightmare from hell. For tourists everything is beautiful for a local absolutely not the case. Great video 👍

You have to sit in for best experience no matter what. And if you’re getting food and can walk to the restaurant the food is most likely going to be mid. All the best places are outside the city centre and are known by locals. Porto is one off the nicest places to visit.
