      Bangalore set the paper in 2016…during those days question paper were not published on public domain. So no body exactly knows. Most of the questions that u see from 2016 are memory based which aren’t reliable, mainly in varc and lrdi.

    Hi Shweta,
    I was going through your Golden Book for Quants. Just wanted to know, did you really memorize all the numbers till 30 cube & each and every fraction like 5/7 value? I can see that you have listed those down in your formula book. I remember 1/7 , but not specifically 5/7. Obviously it would help me to do calculations faster if I can recall it accurately and fast. But is it necessary? And did it help you?

    @Shweta Arora Hello di, even I am having a similar issue as @Prayash Das. I'll just let you know the answers to your qs below. Would be great if you could help me.
    1) Are you able to solve the same sets after the mock under no time restriction?
    Most sets NO but a few YES. I look for one clue generally and then i try to solve it. (DOnt know if this is a correct approach)
    2) Are you able to go through the 4 sets and understand their statements?
    YES very much. I am able to understand and note down the method and tables reqd for solving the set.
    3) Is your order of set selection as per easy-moderate and then difficult?
    YES. In previous mocks, it was a struggle, but now i Have got a hang of it.
    4)Are you able to find the starting point of the set - the constraint that helps decode the set?
    NO, this is the main issue for me, i struggle to find how to start solving the set and how to use the clues to the fullest. And i even find it hard when there are 2-3 ways of doing it like in seating arrangement when there are more than 2-3 cases, its difficult.

    • @Shweta-Arora
      @Shweta-Arora  2 года назад

      Thanks a lot for sharing these, Drishti.
      By this exercise, you can easily pin-point the issue - the inability to find the starting point or solve the question in general. In most sets, there are multiple starting points, you take up all of them one by one, and all of them lead to a dead end after some time. That's the time to combine the 2-3 starting points solved till whatever extent and use them to connect the dots. I don't know if this is making sense, but most DILR sets have multiple starting points. You need not spend too much time on one point when you face a dead end, that's a clue to move to the next starting point.
      Practicing is the only thing that can help when you're in such a situation. If you're unable to get the sets right, solve them under untimed scenario again. Analyse mocks. With more and more practice, the reasoning ability should develop, after that it'll only take a look to spot the multiple starting points and begin solving.

    Hi, Thank you so much for this video. Also, the recommended book is really useful. The quote in the background is also so beautiful and is so much needed today, I had a terrible mock day. As a follow up guidance from you, just a question, was there some super bad day in your preparation as well, when your mock score drastically fell to as low as 25-30s, in the middle of the preparation, when things were going good in the prep. And if yes, how to ignore it and move forward with equal enthusiasm. And if not, then please guide how to move forward from this fall down? Thank you so much :')

    • @Shweta-Arora
      @Shweta-Arora  2 года назад +38

      Hey Priyanshu, thank you so much for the kindest words! And trust me, I hear you! There were some days like these, in fact one of those days was right before my CAT exam day. There's only one thing that can beat the fear of uncertainty i.e. experience - the more mocks you take, the more certain you'll feel of your preparation.
      Mock taking is very similar to making YT videos. Some of my videos don't do well and that hurts because of the effort involved. But, the only thing that can ensure the next one does well is analysis of what went wrong. The more I do that, the more certain I become of the next one doing well. You never fail, you either win or you learn. Best wishes :D

    Hi ma'am. I'm a btech grad with a cgpa of 8.88 and dgpa of 8.99. Now my issue is how do i calculate my percentage? Should I use cgpa or my dgpa. In the University website they haven't mentioned any such formula. Just a pdf is upload with stating percentage conversion and the contents of the pdf is as follows:
    To Whom It May Concern
    Ref. No.: Date:
    This is to certify that a seven point grading system on a basis of 10 is being followed in Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal (formerly Known as West Bengal University of Technology) which may be measured as per the following scale:
    Grade Point %marks( minimum ass)
    6.25 - 55
    6.75 -. 60
    7.25.-. 65
    7.75. - 70
    8.25. - 75
    The clause (iv) of Chapter 1, Part-2, First Regulation of West
    Bengal University of Technology states:
    Quote
    There shall be no class/division awarded to a student either
    at semester or degree level.
    Unquote
    Now till date the university used to assign dgpa on the degree from which our seniors used to substract 0.75 and then multiply with 10 to get the percentage but now in our provisitional certificate they have assigned cgpa. However there is formula for calculating dgpa given at the back side of certificate. Now I'm confused how to calculate my percentage. Please help ma'am.

    80% in dilr is quite tough for me if the second set of 6 questions (according to last year pattern) comes easy then only i can attempt 16 questions (4,6,6)
    And other wise Attempting 3 full set and 1 half is quite impossible for me(4,4,6,2)

      I'm not aware of the average age at FMS, but it can be a challenge. At IIM-A, the highest i remember someone was 32. I'm not saying it's impossible, it can be a factor. What would you like to know as I didn't find a question.

    I wanted to ask. How is the overall score not equal to the sum of individual sectional score? Like for example, for 99.5 the overall score is given as 120 but the total sum is 54+37+49=140?

    Shweta, in 1 mock my score is 75 which was standard paper I believe, another 106 which was easier one, and another one is around 45 , taken in three consecutive day, but if I am comparing with another person taking the same mock , and getting 79 , 102 , and 69 , why my marks is varying this much

    • @Shweta-Arora
      @Shweta-Arora  2 года назад +1

      Hey Arpan, you shouldn't compare with an individual and instead compare your percentile across mocks. Percentile reflects your true performance and not the absolute score. And percentile should further be checked section-wise, so analyse the section in which you didn't do well in the last mock.
