That last aspirant was so relatable to me. I was so scared before giving mocks and end up getting low scores. But recently i started giving mocks with a positive and chill mindset and now i am scoring comparatively good scores.
To all those who give mock with a pressure to score good and by getting scared of how will you perform, please feel relaxed and with a positive mindset give mocks.
    YOU WILL SEE THE DIFFERENCE!!🙌

I also have very useful thing to share that before 5 mocks I was scoring 40 % ile in DILR and suddenly I jumped today at 91.6 in CL MOCK. One thing I noticed that in analysis I always able to solve 2 to 3 puzzle . So i started reading every puzzle thoroughly not taking just gist . And then I improved .
    Hope it helps

My case is just opposite. Mostly people priortize RCs and I took advise too and followed the same but wasn’t getting the needed accuracy then later I found that my VA part is strong and more accurate, I was getting 5-7 correct answers out of 8. Simply proves that each one of us have different strong and weak points.

The Excel Sheet & the message is so relatable. The various types of What IF questions and expectation of "D-Day" performance hampers the current mock scores. I guess every serious CAT aspirant has to go through the same..!

I totally agree with the consistency part, I mean I've realized that even if I am missing my consistency for a day too, my marks start fluctuating, one day I am getting above the 70 percentile in VARC in sectional and after one day of gap drops 50.

Social media is really a big contributing factor for losing concentration. Few months back i read Atomic Habits by James Clear in which he said “Add friction to negative activities or make them boring”
So what i did is that, I removed every social media from my phone and installed it on my laptop which makes it boring to use because chatting or watching reels on phone is easy. But on laptop it makes it unattractive like watching reels is tough on it and you certainly cant use your laptop under your blanket, you have to maintain a certain posture for it.
So yeah that’s how i made social media boring for myself.

The last point is absolutely true! Right from the day I have decided that I just need to practise all types of que through mock and not get affected by the score I will get, I have become more logical and concentrate much better on mocks. Earlier I used to fear checking the mock scores, even QA k last 10 mnts used to be like ab marks dekhne hai.
So, a thought process which has helped me a lot is- mocks k saare ques and PYP k saare que aane chahiye solve krne till the day of actual CAT.
And It's no more scary, it has become a fun game now.

Thank you much Shweta for this video. Even I was facing this issue, scores going down as compared to before and I felt this was happening only to me and was feeling so demotivated. Not only did you open my eyes by saying its not an unique case you also helped to find the root cause. I was doing well in VARC so I stopped reading and practicing and gave that time to both other sections and VARC dipped. Thanks a ton.
Edit - I always watch your 99 percentile mindset video before going in for any mock thanks again shweta.

  • @spam9330

I would also like to suggest that students should, from time to time, watch videos of teachers solving an RC or VA section from previous year exams. Whenever I watch such videos I can feel it that my thought process is getting better. I could even score 50 in the VARC section of one of the recent mocks. I usually score in the range of 30-40.
Like you can also watch Shweta di's video on how to improve in VARC section a day before giving mock.
Plus on the day of the mock, try solving the VA section of previous mocks, this will help you get in the flow of solving those questions.

I am facing a similar problem. I am quite consistent in DILR and Quants section, was easily able to make 90-95 percentile in every mock. But the problem is I am unable to increase my score in VARC section where my percentile ranges between 40-65 only and because of that my overall percentile restricts somewhere around 85-90. Would be really helpful if you could suggest me a way out through this. Thank you once again.

As you ask some questions regarding my strategy (in your last video) in particular section so here it is:- In DILR i am scanning for first 3-4 min. then starting which set is to solve. But problem is that when selecting i think i am able to do but after passing 15-20 min. i was not able to solve. So Yaa Set selection is major problem i think. In QA yes my Concepts are clear and i am using ABC Strategy but the problem is that i was taking so much time behind every questions because of doing traditional methods. Not able to get that Short Cuts. So I think QA is my strong area but problem is Time. Thats why i was not able to solve as many as questions.

    • @Shweta-Arora
      @Shweta-Arora  2 года назад +1

If you're spending 15-20 mins on a set, that's the biggest blunder right there, set a time per set you won't cross no matter what happens. For QA, keep analysing the mocks, you'll learn the tricks soon

Shweta Didi, In QA, I mainly focus on Arithmetic, algebra, Geo, a little bit of modern maths, and my fundamentals are also clear, and I'm doing 200+ questions for each and every topic but during the mock test. When I see the question, it feels like I'm doing the same type of question somewhere but after I attempt that I feel I am going in the wrong direction sometimes wrong approach, silly mistakes, and many times if I get the right answer then it takes time to compare to the topper, and at last, I can't touch to the last question of the mock.

And in LRDI also within the given time frame I am unable to solve sets, it takes me half n hour for a set if I know how to solve. If you have faced the same issue, could you give me some tips on it?

@@vaanioberoi4963 i faced this issue then i started solving more sets so got familiar with most of the type of sets so whenever i solve any set first i pick up DI that takes me 5-6 mins to solve then i go with arrangements n yeah these sets usually takes time and before solving whole set try to figure ques bcz mostly u can get 1/2 ques without solving the whole set and try to redo all these sets from mock it helps alot for new approach to solve in quick time
also while paraphrasing dont make a whole sentence try to mind map imp points bcz moslty it takes time as we try to frame sentences from the para also have a look at ques before solving rc then while paraphrasing u can get your ans while reading the passage only.
For more clairty you can watch grok playlist his way of paraphrasing is brilliant also u can watch playlist of gejo speaks on YT for more clarity.

@@vaanioberoi4963 dont get into solving the whole set bcz i have seen aprrox 3 ques can be solved without solving the whole set goal is not to solve the whole set but to get our ans correct this saves our time.

Hello Di! I'm in 12th Maths with Commerce stream. 10th-96% 11th-94.2%
I'm simultaneously preparing for a college entrance test for BMS at St Francis women's college, Hyderabad.
Want to get into IIM Ahmedabad only. Nowhere else. Will it be good to prepare for it as a fresher or after taking 2 years of work-ex.Will do a general MBA. I never read books or newspapers (I'm zero when it comes to any section of CAT). Should I start reading books right from the first-year of my BMS and prepare for quants etc from the first year itself? Or should I think of collecting two years of work ex?
Are three years enough for a person to prepare well for CAT simultaneously with College (BMS) ?
I'm telling you I'm literally zero when it comes to reading stuff.

I'm a CAT 2022 aspirant and to be very honest I'm extremely scared of what's going to happen. When I sit to study I feel like I have soo many things left to study and idk how I'll be able to manage. I just started preparing for DILR and verbal because I was so focused on Quants that it didn't even occur to me the importance of the other 2 sections. And in all honestly I'm struggling to see how I can make this count. If anyone has something that could help me and give me some direction I'd appreciate it very much.
And to anyone in my boat rn, It's all gonna work out in the end.
    All the best 👍

Wanted to know about the sheet provided for rough work during the CAT exam. What is the number of sheets and pens provided? Also, can we take water bottles with us?
Thank You for all the amazing videos you are uploading during this peak time before the Exam.

Hi di...thank you so much ....this was much needed . Also I have a question regarding the studybuzz workshop. So will the workshop only be in the form of life classes ?? Or the workshop will be recorded ??? Actually the timing is 9-12 which am not comfortable with so if they provide a recording of the workshop that will be helpful.

Could you suggest which types of LRDI sets we should not leave in our preparation. Also, since i am left with geometry could you suggest which chapters I can leave and do the rest, so atleast i can target basic questions of geometry in CAT.
Need to complete it by 16th so that i can start with mocks regularly and revision. Just so you know- my geometry and algebra also aren't that great and have left functions and graphs, inequalities, maxima minimal due to time constraint.

Do triangles and Circles in geometry. And see the previous year pattern of quants, 2-3 questions came from Inequalities. It's important topic. I am also yet to cover inequalities, Don't leave it. You can leave numbers as it has less weightage and has vast portion.
      Hope it helps.

Arrangements, tables, pie charts, venn diagrams, games and tournaments - these are the ones I think are a must do in DILR. Aritmetic, Algebra are a must in Quant. Among Geo/NS, you can leave one (it is a risky strategy for sure). Do coordinate geometry at least
