Its very unrealistic for someone like me who is not improving in QA to think about attempting 18 questions or so. At this stage 11-12 questions look familiar but i am unable to solve most of them. There is this constant issue of retention or application of concepts. Varc and dilr is improving gradually but losing hope for quants.
I can complete relate as same was the case with me. But, I even tried attempting the ones I wasn't familiar with. Trying to learn from the concepts (in solutions) and regularly (weekly) revising your formulas and tricks will help you attempt more questions given your syllabus is completed.

Hii shweta di ! Need a little guidance regarding CAT from you. I am doing fine in VARC and DILR , with both of these sections being my strength. But I'm facing a tough time with Quant . Being from a non maths background arithmetic is still doable but algebra and modern maths have been a disaster so far . Could you please guide me on how to proceed forward :)
Between modern math and algebra, algebra is way more important due to its weightage. Even further in algebra, most of the questions are formula + logic-based. So, I'd suggest going through conceptual videos/notes again and noting down shortcuts/tricks/concepts from solutions. Even if you're not able to solve, that's okay, just note all possible types, there are limited. I'm not sure if you will feel comfortable replacing modern math with geometry - but modern math has less weightage. You can further do specific chapters within modern math like functions, progressions, set theory and not probability or permutations combinations (unless you need them for DILR)

The choice can be made by understanding what your current average of mocks suggests - how much do you think you can get. Another factor is whether you consider this to be your final attempt or you're okay attempting again next year. Basis that, you can compare with the cut-offs of the colleges you're considering and apply.
Since quant is a strength for engineers, the sectional cutoff will be higher in it (most CAT takers are engineers). So, make sure to attempt more in English and Quant. How to do that in Quant: pick your strengths and do those questions first when you start solving the Quant section in the mock.
Good evening ma'am I am currently a class 12 th student in the humanities stream.. I had 96% in my class 10 th CBSE boards. My subjects are history, political science, economics, psychology and English. But recently I got interested in economics and thought of SRCC but there maths is compulsory to have in +2, which I don't. And another field I am interested in is psychology. So this means either pursuing psychology from a top DU university College or studying economics at Amity, which surely does not match the level of SRCC.. After which I wish to pursue MBA from IIM A... Is it possible to get in inspite of being a humanities major at the undergraduate level like psychology... And then get a placement at top companies like Goldman Sachs, etc... Also, could you also sort out my undergraduate degree confusion... I shall be really grateful if you could answer... I have always been a bright student and at the top of my classes.. I am ready to work hard if this ends up working out..

Di, there's only approx 50 days left, so for quants, my basics are almost clear, so should i complete the coaching material but that's not possible as the exam is near or should i focus on mocks and previous years questions. And for dilr, the same question, should i go for starting coaching materials or practice the same from mocks and previous year as my teachers are saying to complete the book first, but that seems impossible in these few days, so what should i do, I'm very much confused.

Although I'm preparing for CAT'24 self, it's very hectic to prepare in this type of environment that's why I'm not attending the clg at all just for giving exam and sometimes for another purpose. There's no compulsion as such of having extracurricular activities. An individual who engages in such activities showcases the willingness to grow, connect, hone skills. You can participate in online competitions on Unstop, volunteer at local events or NGOs, become a member of Rotary or Community Clubs. Extracurricular includes everything other than academics.

You can get a call from FMS for sure by scoring well in CAT. But, you will have to convince them during interviews why you're a suitable candidate for FMS.

DILR practice is done from mocks and past years and while practicing you will find and learn the tricks in solutions. Hence it is better to solve past year questions and mocks.

@@sushmatiwari2798 You can take up Quant chapters in order of priority e.g. Arithmetic, Algebra first and then Geometry/Number System and modern math. You can keep doing them side by side practicing mocks and past year papers. VARC can be done simply from mocks and past year papers.

Apart from CAT also ,I have given some mock test for NMAT but my logical and verbal section is a bit okay but the quant score is very poor.I can’t attempt the questions and I am facing serious issues in quant section .My quant syllabus is also a bit messed up. Hello maam, please guide me! I am confident in VARC and DILR, that till exam i can reach close to the desired attempts. But, i am not able to perform well in quants... only 6-8 questions am able to do on a good day! Although i have solved questions from TIME booklet but still i am not sure how to increase percentile there, considering the little time i have. Chapters like P&C, probability and number system are ones i will have to leave. Also even though i have solved lots of questions of geometry, i am not able to solve them in mocks with time constrain. It also depends on your academic marks. E.g. I had 90,90,80 in 10th, 12th and graduation. So, I got all calls at 99 percentile. You can also get most at 98.5

Bro i scored 39 in Pym 2022 two days ago(80 was my average). I'm not giving a fuck. Just manifest that you are going to be your best. ***DO NOT THINK about any scenarios of after CAT***. Just about the exam. You are going to solve every set you touch. You'll clearly see the right options in the RCs and you are going to kill at least 12 in QA. It seems weird but I've done this and believe me it works 100%.

You can get a call from FMS for sure by scoring well in CAT. But, you will have to convince them during interviews why you're a suitable candidate for FMS.

DILR practice is done from mocks and past years and while practicing you will find and learn the tricks in solutions. Hence it is better to solve past year questions and mocks.

@@sushmatiwari2798 You can take up Quant chapters in order of priority e.g. Arithmetic, Algebra first and then Geometry/Number System and modern math. You can keep doing them side by side practicing mocks and past year papers. VARC can be done simply from mocks and past year papers.

I am confident in VARC and DILR, that till exam i can reach close to the desired attempts.
But, i am not able to perform well in quants... only 6-8 questions am able to do on a good day! Although i have solved questions from TIME booklet but still i am not sure how to increase percentile there, considering the little time i have.
Chapters like P&C, probability and number system are ones i will have to leave. Also even though i have solved lots of questions of geometry, i am not able to solve them in mocks with time constrain.
Currently i am able to maintain an overall 90 percentile in TIME aimcats!

14 in DILR is unrealistic at max u will be able to solve 2 sets which is again 10 questions. Please be real with numbers.

It also depends on your academic marks. E.g. I had 90,90,80 in 10th, 12th and graduation. So, I got all calls at 99 percentile. You can also get most at 98.5

Hi Shweta, my mock scores have been more than 70 in the past 5 mocks. My weakest section is DILR, and the other two are fine. I find DILR very unpredictable, and I cannot make a specific preparation strategy for that. Is giving mocks the only option... or is there any other way to increase my confidence in DILR?

hi mam, i had a doubt , actually while filling form for cat , i multiplied my grad marks with 9.5 while it shld have been 10, now my acads are 91.4, 96.7 ,and 8.46 gpa in grad , which shld be 10/10/10, but instead after miss multiplying i have 10/10/8 right , being a bba student how much shld i target for getting calls from old iim's?
It will not make any difference as anything above 80 has the same weightage. Your percentage will come out to be 80+ right?

Bro i scored 39 in Pym 2022 two days ago(80 was my average). I'm not giving a fuck. Just manifest that you are going to be your best. ***DO NOT THINK about any scenarios of after CAT***. Just about the exam. You are going to solve every set you touch. You'll clearly see the right options in the RCs and you are going to kill at least 12 in QA. It seems weird but I've done this and believe me it works 100%.
