Yea bro I noticed this immediately. I have a 93 dunk and gold posterizer and I still have these same issues you’re showing. I came from 2k23 straight to 2k25 so I felt the difference right off the bat.
I have 73 strength for gold strong handles on my guard and 84 for hof strong handles on my SF. And I’m dunking over people just fine. I feel like strong handles is slithery, blow by qnd slithery all combine
Also all my fellow slashers who do not like using the meter, you do not have to go up then down on the stick for the meter dunk You can use Up Up and the stick or down down on the stick, see if that helps you out while slashing to the rim for a dunks going down down for me feels more natural

You have to practice meter dunks to get posters i have legend posterizer. But you have to kind of beat the defender in the paint or come at a center standing in the paint at a angle 📐

Blessup iPod...Yup this is what ive been facing. and in the theater I went for a dunk went into the dunking animation with 2 hands, and nded up throwing up a miss. and if somebody is running behind and I go up for a layup I have an 89drvdnk "2 Contact dunks pkg" and a 75drvlyup why am I doing kyrie layups and not dunking it. this happens a lot in mycareer even on rookie.
They need to fix those ghost body animations, but this is quality info. The community makes rec a nightmare and then none of your attributes matter in NBA games. NPC players on my team play less like themselves and the bums on the other team play lights out.
Question @iPodKingCarter: have you noticed dominant hand drives vs. Off hand drives? I think if you made a comparison video it would open some eyes. I think 2K is actually trying to balance attributes and animations in order to stimulate real life. Using your first clip, if it was real life, driving with your off hand the finish is naturally more difficult to convert. Thus, in the game, your average ball handle paired with below average speed with ball, the game gave you a less aggressive animation ie; bringing your dunk down to a lay up. My observation comes from them wanting to come closer to real-life averages. So I could see them tinkering with other parts of scoring to try to keep a balance. I hope that wasn't confusing and I hope you look into this further with an update on more you've learned with playing the game.

You need to get your lighting launched to a higher level. It will help with your launches and get you open dunking Lanes also. You'll be moving quick enough to trigger the meter more. The goat badges only raise the attributes, but you will still have a low lightning launch badge level.
I encourage you to play myteam. This is where you’ll get the influence of making better style builds and learning the mechanics of the game better. Running mycareer only and guessing how to create a perfect builds when 2k already has examples of them will make you more seasoned
I make a 2 way rim attacker with a 93 dunk also a good tip u can meter dunk near the 3 point line for better animations. And also the dial is the easiest one for me.

Hi, I'm new here, and I have to say, I like your content. As a former female hooper, I've been a fan of 2K over the years, but I wish they had some competition so they'd step up their game. They keep trying to trick us with fancy graphics, but the gameplay is still a broken system, just like you said. And think about it, if the badges actually worked, you would have made that dunk. Limitless Takeoff is not back. The physics are more realistic. If you want to self opp you’re not throwing it in the paint. You get the takeoff animation according to lane spacing and landing zone. If there are bodies in the paint you can’t just “Space Jam” over (unless they are under the rim or out of position). You have to find a lane and takeoff clean. It’s not NBA Jam.

My problem is that I'm the only one being put in the contact while my defender is not also being put in the animation, I'm getting knocked out of my animations with gold posterizer, and when I know for sure I trigger my dunk/skill meter wich is my preferred way to dunk it won't trigger, and last but not least I keep getting a false read on my timing getting late or early for good release timing in the green zone. There a few others, but these are the main things for me.

The higher the better you attack the rim so I agree. Momentum plays a role, you gotta beat you defender to the spot and use angles which require explosiveness.

What I’ve realized this year is that if you don’t have AT LEAST a 96 driving dunk don’t worry about trying to consistently posterize anyone with a decent/high interior defense. The lowest I would recommend if up want to be an actual slasher is 94.

But you can still dunk skill dunk if someone's riding your hip it's about you don't have high enough attributes to perform a skilled dunk right there I don't think I mean I could be wrong but that's just what I think
Ain't no "ghosted contest", the real issue is that your layup stat isn't high enough. You got a high dunk rating but you're damn sure doin' a lot of layups for which you have no skill. All that extra shit you got to try to help that stat obviously doesn't work. My layup rating is high as well as my strength & speed; I don't have any of those problems. 😁
Honestly u need a 93+ I can’t really relate cuz I have dunk on many builds 93 to get a gold posterize is needed if u really wanna get dunks on any build and I’m a big cutter for my team I have made all my dunks from cutting with my 93 dunk I only got block one time because of a dunk animation they gave me when I was cutting but yea u need a way higher rating tbh that sliver ain’t it

That 81 drive and 81 standing with 86 lay 92 close and 87 post 75 vert is such a sweet spot try that for 7’1 I always be catching dunk animations

But you can still dunk skill dunk if someone's riding your hip it's about you don't have high enough attributes to perform a skilled dunk right there I don't think I mean I could be wrong but that's just what I think

Ain't no "ghosted contest", the real issue is that your layup stat isn't high enough. You got a high dunk rating but you're damn sure doin' a lot of layups for which you have no skill. All that extra shit you got to try to help that stat obviously doesn't work. My layup rating is high as well as my strength & speed; I don't have any of those problems. 😁
I have a 93 layup and 89 dunk with gold poster and I mainly get ghost contested
96 driving dunk first week in a half it was a guaranteed body but after the first few patches now i get my shit ripped its irritating

Honestly u need a 93+ I can’t really relate cuz I have dunk on many builds 93 to get a gold posterize is needed if u really wanna get dunks on any build and I’m a big cutter for my team I have made all my dunks from cutting with my 93 dunk I only got block one time because of a dunk animation they gave me when I was cutting but yea u need a way higher rating tbh that sliver ain’t it
iPod, have you tried to meter dunk and then bail out of the meter dunk? Not sure if it’s possible I keep trying just to test and it won’t let me bail out
