    I absolutely love your flower paintings, David. Tuilips are some of my favourite flowers because they come in such diverse range of hues, I can imagine the tulips you mentioned blooming outside your gallery are a pleasent sight. Thanks again for sharing your talent :)

    Yay Spring! You know what I've discovered by mistake? Watercolor canvas. I wondered what was going on, as the material they covered it with was softer, smoother. And I turned it around and saw it said watercolor panel. Well, did I have fun spraying and making my paint run! I think I'll try this painting--or something similar--and do one this weekend after I finish my current one. Can't wait to see the other spring paintings you'll do, David! 💕

    Hey! David Jansen is it okay if I use poster paints? because I really want to paint your flower bouquet
    and its fascinating, I am a beginner and I really love how you paint!😀😀

    • @JansenArtEducation
      @JansenArtEducation  2 года назад +1

      Poster paints will not work at all. Totally different and super cheap color. If your going to spend the time to learn how to paint, you should use the best tools you can.

    I dont think your way can be done on canvas. So I want to order some boards on amazon. Can you help me know what to order. Mdf? I went in and the choices, of course, are endless. I have tried to imitate this on canvas and it is just too rough. So I would appreciate your input.

      Susan Slone, we follow David’s lessons on canvas all the time. If you want a smoother canvas surface, fill with a coat of canvas prep medium or just a layer of paint then a quick sand with 180 grit sand paper. These applications will only work with Heritage acrylics of corse. And yes, MDF or super MDF works great 👍

    I’m not having luck using the wood panels! I get brush marks using white paint to coat them and they show through the paint even after sanding.

    • @JansenArtEducation
      @JansenArtEducation  2 года назад

      Brush marks are not a fault of the panel, which is smooth, they are caused by the brush. If you use a low quality brush it will leave brush marks because of the stiffness of the fibers. Smooth board has nothing to do with it. A poor brush will leave brush marks no matter the surface. What are you using to base coat the boards?

      @@JansenArtEducation I used heavy body acrylic white paint and have tried different
      brushes, flat and filbert, painting across then down. After it’s dry I lightly sand it.
      Sometimes the paint seems to just slip on it using a fusion brush. I mean the color, nit the base coat. We’ve emailed a few times now. Thought I’d tell you
      I’m in Williamsburg, Va. if you haven’t been here, you should visit!

    • @JansenArtEducation
      @JansenArtEducation  2 года назад

      Heavy bodied acrylic paint will not work for basecoats as it does not have any leveling agents in it. Wrong type of acrylic.

    • @donlefarsace1794

      @@JansenArtEducation I’ll try one of your colors next time. I don’t have your white, but
      a light color should work. Thank you!
