    Hi, you don't happen to still have the template designs downloaded do you? When I go to the filson page and click the link for the template design, it says link expired :/ If you still have them and could post a link that would be much appreciated, thank you!!!

    Nice video. Well done. Thorough, step by step. Only enough narration to help us! Great job and thank you! By the way, do you ever use West Systems Epoxy for such coatings? Pro's/cons? thanks.

    How did you get away from steaming the strips?

    • @seamancustombuilds2553
      @seamancustombuilds2553  Год назад +1

      I found using good straight grain Ash for the outer strip would handle the bending without being steamed, also works well as a sacrificial strip even if you aren’t using Ash for the net. Thanks for watching

    Did you have many of the slats break while trying to bend them? I am looking to do a net and am not going to do a steam box as they seem too awkward. However, I have seen some who soak the slats first in warm water. Just curious. Good video.

      In this net using Ash for the outer strip I didn’t have any cracking, I tried using Cherry on another net and after cracking 3 strips I added an Ash strip without glue and that held everything together while clamped, I now use an Ash strip for every glue-up, good luck!

      @@seamancustombuilds2553 Thanks, that is an interesting/awesome tip to add the Ash on the outside without glue.

    Nice project! I would have used some varying color woods for my laminations for some additional beauty. You have almost tripled your subs in 7 months. Great work! Add me to the list 👍
