Used to go st Andrews 1975/1980 was part of higher modern studies class who went to USSR for two weeks.mr chairs Nairn still have great memories had good education however there was a lot of snobbery shown from certain senior teachers and the brothers towards those who attended from Sandy hill s and mount Vernon . It still doesn't have the facilities of the great Hollywood. Due to it being in the East end we love a spotrs center too that public could use .
I and my family Moved To Barlanark From Our home In Rolland st Maryhill I went from st Jude’s In barlanark And attended this Great school For 1st year 69/ In 1970 The brothers We’re tough Buggers No messing I returned To Maryhill Later that summer To go to my school St Columba of Iona I was just getting used To St. Andrews And always Wonder About how I would have Advanced had I stayed At St. Andrews As opposed to the unsettling Moving two primary schools And two secondary Schools In two years On top of losing My pals from St Charles school We’re I was Settled in from five years old until I left To go to a a secondary school Not knowing A soul I think it set me back Four or five years It was only when I left schools And starting working That I achieved most Of my Potential But I remember Fondly That short spell At this great school St. Andrews I was there at the start If it’s 50 years Go go go St. Andrews Great achievement 💚🏴🏴🏴🙏🙏🙏🙏⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🧡
I was there from 1978 to 1984. Bullied. One teacher was a great uncle: he proved worthless at the time and the same when I later became a carer. John Briggs, Woodwork. No fond memories of him or the school.

I and my family
Moved
To
Barlanark
From
Our home
In Rolland st
Maryhill
I went from st Jude’s
In barlanark
And attended this
Great school
For 1st year 69/
In 1970
The brothers
We’re tough
Buggers
No messing
I returned
To Maryhill
Later that summer
To go to my school
St Columba of Iona
I was just getting used
To St. Andrews
And always
Wonder
About how I would have
Advanced had I stayed
At St. Andrews
As opposed to the unsettling
Moving two primary schools
And two secondary
Schools
In two years
On top of losing
My pals from
St Charles school
We’re I was
Settled in from five years old until I left
To go to a a secondary school
Not knowing
A soul
I think it set me back
Four or five years
It was only when I left schools
And starting working
That
I achieved most
Of my
Potential
But I remember
Fondly
That short spell
At this great school
St. Andrews
I was there at the start
If it’s 50 years
Go go go
St. Andrews
Great achievement
