I’m a 20 plus year contractor with some advice. When hanging drywall, always hang the ceilings first and then the upper walls. Life will be so much easier. Also, there is a reason to stagger your joints. If and when cracks form, the don’t go the entire length of the joint, they will stop at the staggered joint.
And use glue on the studs.
@@jakesales7321 what kind of glue would you suggest?
Stud adhesive
Jake Sales sorry, I didn’t realize that you had responded. There are many different kinds of adhesive that you can use. There is no such thing as “Stud Adhesive”. There is “Drywall Adhesive” though. You can always used “Liquid Nails” but most people don’t use it correctly. Actually, people don’t use most adhesives correctly. I even did before I was taught the correct way. People glob the adhesive on the one side of the adjoining parts, then they sandwich them together. The proper way is to apply on both parts, put them together, take them apart and then put them back together. If you do this, it will be a cold day in hell before they come apart. You also do this with your drywall. Apply the adhesive to the rafters, in which can be messy but necessary. Also apply the adhesive to the drywall back. To not waste adhesive, I measure where the rafters cross and just apply there. I install the drywall to the rafters, separate, put back and screw it. It seems like a lot of work but I have drywall ceilings that are 18 - 20 years old with no sag. Also remember, when you paint the ceiling, you will be adding weight.
Gyprock stud adhesive
If I spent half as much time working on making things as I do watching folks do it I'd be good at it. That being said I dig your style sir, subscribed!
Dude, I would be a master machinist, could build furniture and lay tile and drywall like a pro...alas, i just watch. Then again, i can't afford a piece of property to place something like this anyway.
phuturephunk - Exactly! Don't forget kickass blues guitar player. Closet fulla gear but nope - just watch how-to vids...
you can more than do it...just believe...its better to try and fail than never to try at all....i am 41 female mother of 8....i can paint, put up fence, install all type of flooring...name it can can do it....thanks to videos like these...
@@motorv8N that i never try....
This is what RUclips should be. Great content
7:20 Awesome how proud and happy you look!!! That's a moment to remember and take forward to your next project.
Great job!!! I'm exhausted just watching you put the ceiling up!!! Congratulations very successful build. Winners never quit. Great Video
As a man who's entire construction career can be described as 2:58 - 3:30 I found this video entertaining. Good job man.
I looked up foldable staircases for my workshop loft and your IG video popped up. Now I didn’t have an IG just because at this point I’m over Facebook so I didn’t want to add another piece of it to my life, but something told me to and I watched your videos and this is the third one I’m watching now. I’m just starting out as a woodworker as of about a year ago and on some real s*** you are inspiring. You remind me to stay fresh with my ideas and not to conform to the traditional take of woodworkers. Keep killing Boss!
It's looking amazing, in a container it's original, hard work is always worth!
Nice, just a tip next time you're hanging drywall on the ceiling, make a T with 2x4's & after you get the sheet of drywall up pull the T to hold it up, then you can take your time putting the screws in.
They do make them
great tip
What a great way to build a workshop that can travel with you.
Toby is a Woby.
The description is really detailed! It answered all my questions, thanks and great job! Another benefits of using plywood or OSB wall is that you can screw anything anywhere!
I think you often go to great lengths to do things the hardest way possible. Not wrong, just hard. I respect that. Subscribed.
I liked the way you stopped the fast forward to show the exhaustion factor LOL. Love the realism.
NOW THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKIN ABOUT!!!
SHIPPING CONTAINER PROJECT.
ANOTHER INSPIRATION.
THANKS KAPATID!!!
MABUHAY KA!
KEEP UP THE UPLOADS...
Cool, woby! Now make another one with just broken skateboards.
