- This was a random fun video to make haha. Sometimes we feel pressure when making videos because how do we make something both entertaining and encouraging not to mention how do we do that when our life is a bit crazy right now... SO it felt great to take the pressure off and allow yall in to the random bits of our life that we don't always show in a fun lifestyle vlog. So thanks for tuning in!
I HAVE REWRITTEN THIS 3 times now So I am sorry that it is so long, but I was trying to get my words out...
If you listened to today's "Messy Masterpiece" daily devotional you will have heard me mention a book I am working through which is called "mini habits". One thing the booked talked about was that motivation is not worth relying on. And I'm sitting there listening to this book feeling "duped" like. WHAT?!?! I thought motivation was important, and let me be clear, it is important, but it's not necessary to accomplish what you "need" motivation for. You see motivation is just a feeling. Right now, I feel motivated to go back to bed because I'm tired lol. Last night at 9pm I felt motivated to workout which is why I feel tired right now. IN 30 minutes who knows what I will feel motivated to do. Probably make a fat sandwich and just crush life lol but my point is this... Our feelings change. You could legit get a mean message and that shut down your entire day where you don't feel motivated to do anything anymore. So my point is this. Ask yourself... Are you relying on your emotions to drive you? And if so, how is that going? It's a pretty up and down way of living to rely on your feelings to drive your actions. Of course, let your feelings be there and process them to help find what makes your heart beat, but then put in a solid plan that doesn't rely on motivation or feelings. Like me writing this descriptions. I honestly get a lot of questions about these things. I sit down to write them at 10am, every Tuesday/Thursday before we post a video. I don't always feel motivated. I don't always feel like writing them. But I sit down to do it every time, it is a discipline and now that discipline has created a habit so I can write this without motivation! This also helps us say no to our bodies when we feel motivated to do something that isn't "good" for us... Because we are used to not listening to our brains but we are pursuing our disciplines! I hope that all makes sense. It's a lot of words.

Your walk is beautiful! Cleaning the grease up was so satisfying to watch - love stuff like that. Love redoing spaces when organizing - it's a great way to just refresh a space too. Tori, I have the same problem with Target! Also, I don't love the purse. It kind of looks like a lamp shade to me but you do you girl :) Love the haul though! SO EXCITED for whatever the secret project is! Also feeling totally convicted, Chad, about what you're saying about motivation! I totally feel my way through life and let me tell you, that often leaves me without motivation. Feeling like I need to read "mini habits" and love your note about how creating good habits allows you to rely on discipline - not just motivation! These are my favorite types of videos - I hope you guys enjoy making them too!!

always love vlogs like these! we are sooo thankful for you! also Chad, um I wanted to know how you got past your stammer... I struggle with that since childhood and would really like to know your story (only if you want to share it). Thankyouu, love you guys a lot! :)
Well it's hard to say all of that in one quick comment. but keep talking with me about it and I'd love share any insights I have... but in short, I learned that my stammer really hit me when I was either nervous, uncomfortable, "on the spot" or stressed. I learned that when I felt easy going that I didn't struggle with it as much and so What I did was work on making myself comfortable in MOST situations. Whether talking to new people, introducing myself, speaking o stage etc... the more I practiced those the more comfortable I felt and the less I struggled with it. I also found ways ot hide it as well that I can share more on soon!

In building your own house, did you have to get a 30 mortgage? Or how does the finance work?
you can get any type of mortgage that the banks will allow you too! Most of the time when you are building a home, you do a construction loan and when you close on the house it converts to a permanent loan!
