- This day in the life was wild. Looking back at it I can’t believe how much time we spend at the house. It’s like a full time job as we near the finish line! But wow are we so happy with it! Days lately have been a blur. We’re already almost 2 weeks into October and I feel like September just started… when that happens Tori and I notice that we are doing too much and need to slow down. Even this morning I was on the verge of losing my cool because I was overwhelmed with everything that needs to get done. But thankfully I ran upstairs put my phone away and calmed down. I encourage y’all to do the same! We have a choice when things seem like they are slipping out of control. We can choose to react with peace, and patience and kindness and gentleness etc or we can let what is happening dictate how we react. Aka if it’s good things then we are happy, or if it is bad then obviously we are upset. But don’t you want more control over your inner peace than just what your external circumstances offer?

Sorry in advance for the long rant. It would be appreciated if you could please pray for my job search as i've been unemployed for the past 3 months. I've been applying everywhere and i didn't get called back for any interviews. It makes me feel down and demotivated and i start attaching my self value to my job applications. Rejection is so hard. There are also times where i feel like giving up on my job search and starting a travel blog (which has been a dream of mine since i was younger). All in all, i'm still trying to get through this.

As a homeowner. Front loader drums wears out worse than top loaders. This is very true when it comes to the washer. The rubber seal also degrades over time which can cause a leak. It will cost the same as a brand new to replace. Problem is finding the matching Washer with your dryer 5 yrs down the road when the washer gives out. We opted to go top on our replacement washer. Never looked back.

i’m from the UK and had to do Jury Duty this past summer and there was a loooooot of waiting around. but i eventually was put onto a short trial and was just thankful to get it over with 😅

yes, I got summoned for jury duty last October but got out of it because I'm a full-time student :) (was scared for my life though that I would have to go...but glad I was able to get out because I was swarmed with school).

I've had to go in for jury selection a couple of times but never been on a jury.

I've been summoned three times in CA for Jury Duty. Served once. I also sat on a couple of Courts Martial boards in the military (and got dismissed from three more -- turns out military defense attorneys don't like former Squadron Commanders on the Court Martial panel -- I guess they figure we'll be biased; which is a base canard. Either that, or they figure they can't put as much over on us, since we are familiar with the system...). The civilian case I sat one was bungled by the prosecutor, and even though we all figured the perp was guilty, we couldn't get past that whole "reasonable doubt" thing and felt we had to let him go. Fortunately it wasn't a physical assault case of any kind, nor was it B&E, both of which I think we might have been a lot more reluctant to dismiss.

I was called once for jury duty. Went to the courthouse and my group was called but my group was the back up group so once the lawyers asked questions to the other group. We listen and sat there for a while then got released from service.

My mom had a similar situation as you, Tori, where she was summoned, found a babysitter for me and my sister, drove downtown and paid too much for parking, just to get sent home an hour later because they didn't need jurors. She's gotten called in 5 times but hasn't been chosen or had an excuse not to each time. 😅
so wild... I wonder why some people get chosen so much?!

@@ToriAndChad Same thing happened to me when I was stationed overseas in Berlin, Germany. El Paso summoned me twice, and both times I wrote a nice letter to the court explaining the situation. The second time they informed me that they would be issuing a warrant for my arrest for not showing up to Jury Selection. I wrote another nice letter, this time on unit letterhead (and including my original letter of explanation as an attachment -- I kept copies of everything back in those days), and told them I would be perfectly happy to attend Jury Selection if they would pay for my travel to and from El Paso and Berlin, GE. Never heard back from them, so that was a bust...I was hoping for a paid vacation! Back in 1987, that was. 😁
