Using Analog Rytm with Overbridge to Multitrack on Ableton Live 10
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 5 фев 2025
- This video shows you how to hook up your Elektron Analog Rytm MK2 to your computer to be used with Ableton Live 10 via Overbridge. Overbridge creates a literal "bridge" between your standalone Analog Rytm MKII and your DAW which in this case is Ableton Live 10. We go over a couple different things to be aware of when using Overbridge depending on what you are trying to achieve with it.

i just can't get a signal on my individual outputs. i did everything u said
Note you don’t *have* to disable route to main it just makes sense if you want to dedicate that track as a return track for the onboard effects. You could also record the main outs with extreme output saturation and then do parallel processing with the dry tapped tracks. Lovely how flexible these machines are.
Very good point for sure and thanks for bringing that up. Yes! I really love the flexibility. Overbridge is certainly one of the best parts about the Elektron machines that have it.
I'm trying to understand what you're saying here, but you mean you can actually still get the onboard FX from the Rytm in Ableton in a separate track? Do you maybe have a page where this is explained clearly, as I'm still a very big connectivity noob, thanks :)
@@stan8832 im also still noob but just sorted this out I think. create a new audio track in your daw. audio from analog rytm (just like when selecting individual track), but instead of choosing individual track, choose post fx to capture the fx audio from the analog rytm. in your analog rytm audio routing menu, you can also choose which track gets sent to fx, just like when you choose to route to main or not. But you can not record onboard fx on a per track basis. at least thats how I understand. the individual track out (with the dry track audio) is before the mixer and fx send (delay, reverb, compressor, distortion). check out pg 13 of the rytm manual
@@stan8832 I guess if you wanted to record the fx audio from just a single track you could do the following. turn off all the "send to fx" for all tracks except the one you want to record. record the fx into your daw. copy that audio over to another track in your daw. and repeat that for each track one at a time
@@matthewgood3012 thanks man, I will try that!
Revisiting this today. Thanks so much, you're such a great teacher. Cheers mate!
I don't know if you check the comments on these older videos, but first I wanted to thank you (again) for putting these up. Although there are a number of SynthTubers who do Elektron videos, I often find that the answers I need in a given situation are in your videos. You have a talent to getting this information across in a clear, easy to understand way. My question is: Now that I have my AR Mk2 working with Overbridge/Ableton (12/12 audio routing at the moment) why am I finding that my Push2 is only controlling the AR's kick drum? When I hit the Push2, it's "playing" the kick as pitched notes. When I hit a different pad on the A4 (example, the snare) the Push2 is still playing the kick. I think there's something fundamentally obvious that I'm overlooking (do I just need stop using the 12/12 audio routing and do separate tracks as you described, or is there some way I can have everything on a single track, but hit a pad on the AR to select which one the Push2 is "playing"?) Again, thanks for all you do to help the community!
Thank you for the kind words and I’m just glad to help! I know what you mean and there is a setting where the Rytm receives midi notes. I forgot exactly where it is without looking at it but you have to turn it off.
Elektron Overbridge 2.8.4 with Analog Rytm MKI (OS 1.7) on macOS Sonoma
Hi there, I’m using this setup on my MacBook Air M1 to try multitrack recording into Ableton.
I’ve setup everything right according to every manual / Reddit post I could find but the audio still isn’t routing into individual tracks in ableton.
The Rytm is activated as my interface with overbridge enabled. Everything is at the latest firmware. The routing into ableton is correct to isolate all the individual tracks. The MIDI track with AR plug-in runs correctly with the master output coming through, even though with some latency / crackling noise on top. All audio routes tracks are armed for recording but still, nothing happens.
Any help?
Your vids are so helpful Ponchy, thanks! HZA WUZ HERE.
Glad to help man!
Nice! Thank you! Very clear.
Thank you. I found this tutorial very helpful.
No prob! Glad to help.
What about the fx for each channel coming from the rtym pleasee
Hi Guys im stuck with one aspect the compressor. Is there a way of using analog rhytms comlressor in ableton over overbridge? Thanks 🙏
How many drum kits does it come with, where can I get expansions
There’s a good amount of factory kits and they have lots of free/paid sound packs on the Elektron website.
Hi Ponchy, oh yeahhh for sure I use overbridge but for editing g my Analog Four mk1. I don’t use usb recording . I like going to Onyx preamp . Editing is soo nice with that Overbridge editor. It’s a beautiful thing to look at too
Awesome! That’s a great point that I forgot to mention in the video haha. Sometimes it is so much easier to just edit things from Overbridge haha
Do you know if the rhythm can control via midi a percussion plugin sounds on the daw?
Yes most definitely. I haven’t tested that with USB but it works with just regular Midi out.
How overbridge works with mki?
hey bro did they change something since this video came out? I have all tracks routed to main and im still able to multitrack record my rytm. just wanna make sure im not doing anything wrong
Nice one Ponchy, you rock bro!
Thanks man! I appreciate that
How do you record MIDI?
set up just like this, assigned the tracks accordingly. any idea why I can hear all the tracks EXCEPT the BD if I press the pad on the analog rytm even if the tracks are not armed! once I arm BD I can hear that if I press the pad. can also hear each of the other tracks just the same after arming.
wow nvmd! sorted it out the second I posted. If anyone is curious...when you go to audio routing in the rytm, also turn off each track under "send to Fx" just like you did with when you turned of "route to main". still had fx audio coming through what I think was the overbridge plug in my daw
Awesome! Glad you figured it out and I’m sure this will help someone else in the same position.
It is very helpful and enough. Thanks alot.
Glad to help!
I only get the Left channel out on the individual tracks, so no stereo. Do you know if I'm doing anything wrong, or are they only mono for multitracking?
Yeah you’ll only get mono tracks out of the individual drum tracks. If you’re looking to pan em, for example, then I assume Elektron wants us to do that in the DAW itself.
Thanks for this informative video:)
I have an AR mk1 and have no sound on the individual tracks. got this problem from the beginning two years ago and never got it ... I am trying every now and than and I tried everything, no success. any idea? maybe mk1 problem?
Hmm yeah I’m not sure about that. I’ve never used the MK1 so I don’t know if that’s a problem specifically with the older model but if I find anything I’ll let you know.
@@Ponchy Hey I found the solution just right now. when I wanted open the Overbridge transfer manager I opened the Overbridge Controll Panel by coincidense . There I activated the input channels I wanted to receive by USB and now I have sound on my tracks
@@thorberg2192 Awesome thanks and glad you found it! I didn't think to look there. I will definitely let people know if they have that problem.
@@thorberg2192 Hey dude, I have the MK1 myself and the same problem... Can you specify this for me please? I don't really get it :)
Thanks for sharing!! Finally it works@@thorberg2192
Hi ponchy, I'm having troubles on my 12.0 macOS with overbridge 2 and ableton11 : my VST folder has my overbridges devices but Ableton won't show up any of them in the Plugins session when loading a track. i think i'm gonna need to reinstall both. Had you any troubles with that? everyone seems to get it working at the first look, making me a bit frustrated as OB and Ableton work like a charm, but separately lol! Anyone could help?
Do any other VSTs work? You might need to goto the plugins menu on Ableton and enable the custom VST folders or point Ableton to the correct folders where the Overbridge VSTs are
I had issues with this: you need to enable your pc to read and write the files in your vst folder. right click on your vst folder ...
Very helpful thx
Glad to help!
tnx!!!
No prob!
