I use a similar set up on a normal staff. I use two normal staffs, one for spell attacks and the other for my melee. There are spells that charge your weapon up for 60 seconds. Starting fight charge ups put on chug a focus flask and start throwing spellls out, the charges add to the throw spells, rush in when the spell pauses them and finish off with melee combination.
I think the difference in the number shown for the base focus gain value shown on weapons is from the difference in the version of the game. This video was made before Hotfix 2. We are currently on Hotfix 6. I came to this conclusion after I looked at the video and compared it to the value shown in the current version of the game (checked with various weapons and even weapons sold by vendors), and it is different.
How do you get so much focus back on hit? I have focus gain “increased” on every piece of armor but still I get almost no focus back when I runeattack 🤷🏼♂️
The video was prior to Hotfix 3 that nerf focus regen. You can get around this as follows: - Using a White(Normal staff), so that you can slot runes and 4 gems. This is the staff that you will put the runes you want to use, make sure to include blink. - Using an enhanced cursed staff (Purple) as a stat stick that you don't use for damage. You want it to roll with the 'Gain % focus on damage dealt' passive. This means unlocking an extra weapon slot. - Use the chipped Topaz gem, which on weapons gives '% focus on damage dealt'. - On armor, you want the 'Focus gain increased by %' passive to roll on your armor pieces. This will allow you to regen focus as long as you deal damage to an enemy. I use a similar setup on my melee and archer builds that use focus.
@@robiplays I have all the things you said. But what I mean is: how do you have more than 90 focus on your staff (the “gain” yellow icon on the right side, near the stamina cost). I have 6….
@@micheleschenetti7791 That's a good question. I took a look at my mage today, and the 'Gain' value is just 6. I also took a look at my other characters and the 'Gain' value on their weapons are also in the single digit. There must have been a change of some sort, likely a bug fix from one of the numerous hotfixes(2-6) since the video was made. It was probably showing the incorrect value before.
@@robiplays I thought extra weapons don't act as stat sticks though and would only apply if that staff with the focus on damage dealt was your active weapon?
Yeah, unfortunately the focus regen was nerfed a day after this build was released with hotfix 3. Instead of the %focus gain on focus use, it is now a flat amount.
I'm using the non legendary falling sky staff. Similar build with 20+% focus gain on each armor piece and 2% focus gain on dmg deal. However, my hail rune returns very little focus back. This got me wondeirng if focus gain stats works on rune attacks? seems to be only non-rune attacks that get the focus gain. Am I wrong here? If so then could the normal falling sky staff be bugged?
@@robiplays Another thing is that the gem that gives x% focus when using focus has been nerfed in hotfix patch 3. It is now "get x amount of focus on focus use". Mine is get 10 focus on focus use now. So currently it seems the only way to get good focus gain on rune attacks is to get a nice get x% focus on damage delt mod on your weapon.
The style is so funny for me, it like looks really cute and grotesque at the same time. Like the way your hat like bobbing up and down is really cute, LMAO. How does magic even work in it, like mechanically?
The reason is to get a hefty focus pool because prior to hotfix 3, the focus regen was based on % of your total focus. Some rune spells also cost 150 focus to cast, and with a sizable pool, it will allow one to be able to cast those kind of rune spells a bunch of times before draining the focus bar. One can definitely put more points into INT to make the rune spells hit even harder. But that becomes a glass canon mage build with a no error margin focus pool.
double dagger build is fun as well, active, parry, and flashy.. can we salvage runes from items and can be used for other items. like blink to rogue daggers/archers?
And those runes can only be added at specific items. The rune will say "weapon," "one handed," "staff," etc. for what it can be applied to. It does, in fact, destroy the weapon by design. Saw a glitch that lets you extract and not destroy the item, but I think it's been patched.
