I like the idea that Joe couldn’t remember what he said to Phoebe because he wasn’t Joe at the time. He was the other personality.
I feel like it was foreshadowing that at least.
maybe he said something Rhys wrote or could write in his book?
This is exactly what I was thinking. If he was so deeply in kind of a psychosis, he could very well never remember what he said specifically
good joe spoke or bad joe?
I hate that we never found out what he said in the show
I was just so happy she got her happy ending and was an actual good person. I really thought they were gonna have her be nice and bubbly to the public but bitchy behind doors. Loved they didn't go that route cause she was super sweet.
Litterly the only character I cared about
Yeah same! She had a good heart within compared to all of the others
I was really happy for her at the end of the season. I like that she was able to find meaning in acts of service.
@@Mizushimeee She was actually rude to Joe in the beginning. She called him a “sad baby tarsier”.
@@Mizushimeeeshe literally said that her and her friends are terrible lol
My theory: the writers don't even know what Joe said and that is why it is never revealed
I read in an interview that they know it, they just don't want to say it for some reason
@@sofiyochkova4876 code for “we haven’t got a bloody clue” and forgot about it
Absulutely
@@sofiyochkova4876It's the same as the Doctor's real name, lol.
Yeah they got drunk at the party like Joe.
The moment definitely created the Joe/Paco & Ellie relationship with Phoebe, the show Made us believe that this season that person was going to be Nadia but it was a twist and it turned out to be Phoebe and also as the seasons have progressed Joe has become less of that caring person and has progressed to becoming evil.
Yep!
Joe was never caring he's always been a nutcase.
@@chavaspada he did do quite a lot of paco specifically. Maybe it was because he saw himself in the kid but he definitely cared to some degree
@@IlkaWaffy exactly what I was gonna say.
@@chavaspada nah he cares about kids or atleast he used to lol
My favorite character this season was surprisingly Phoebe. And the scene at her wedding where she breaks down gave me chills. I'm so happy she at least got a happy ending.
Same. I dunno how but Phoebe just kept growing on me. She's such a darling
Same! She’s sooo underrated plus I like how she’s not putting Joe on a box and judging him right off the bat. Even though Joe really is a psycho.
I was thinking Joe said something about the rich being twisted and then held a metaphorical mirror to her letting her come to a realization which led her to being upset. She could have dwelled on it and had a change of heart. From there on she could have been doing her very best to change and become a better person. Leading her to wholesome and complete Phoebe at the end.
That makes sense
Omg u sold me on this one!
hmm but then wouldn't it be too obvious that he was the eat the rich killer?
This is exactly what I think happened. I think he just didn't hold his tongue at all as he usually does, but he wasn't sober so he was completely honest with her and probably told her that he thought everyone at that party were a bunch of rich a-holes that had all the resources in the world to make a difference but they were there basically getting wasted and being waste of space or something along those lines. Phoebe was upset because he was quite insulting while also confirming all her fears about herself, but she'd come to realize that he was right and that's why she just wanted to help and become a better person.
then wouldn't that make her suspicious of him when the "eat the rich" killer popped up?
Joe probably said to her, "Hello, You".
Love it. 😂
Bahaha
I personally think it was just a necessity for the plot to progress, because they needed a reason to have him stay into the loop of socialites even though he was severely out of place there. And Phoebe was almost the leader of the group because she was usually the host, and she needed to like him and be the one forcibly inviting him again and again into the circle. Especially after Malcolm, well, you know.
Yeah that was probably it, but i think it Will be revealed in season 5 or at least i hope so
Your pic is uncanny
I think whatever it was that Joe really said to Phoebe… it will be a huge factor in Season 5 in either catching Joe, or who Joe has become.
I’d like it if it did lead to that!
This is what I want. They literally said "nothing is a coincidence" (paraphrasing I think lol) so is not a coincidence that he said something so impactful to Phoebe and is not a coincidence that we don't know what it is.
@@stephaniepolanco5373idk they looked like they showed her definitive and probably permanent situation at the end, she’s happy w her life now why change any of it
@@mrsign1233 we are not talking about Phoebe’s story. We are talking about how what Joe told Phoebe will play a role in Joe’s storyline in season 5.
@@stephaniepolanco5373 ohhh i seee, idk i still think it’s more of a plot hole rather than a device that will be used later but i’d be delighted if they did
"You'd make an amazing teacher somewhere, some day"
Let’s hope!
Lovely interpretation
My theory:
He said something in the lines of "Nobody is going to love you if you don't love who you are. Not the rich b*tch we see on social media. The real phoebe. The one who so desperately wants to be loved"
Insulting her and making her cry, but at the same time knowing what kind of person she is, hopelessly romantic.
I can't explain it how he would say it. But i feel like whatever he said changed her behaviour or perceptive.
i have the same theory, that’s why she broke down and cried at first, because she was hurt and intoxicated, but later on she realized that he is right and is thankful.
Wow bro is from the future
What Joe said to Phoebe, upsetted her to the limit that she wanted to have sex with him, and that also made him a very close person to her, so it has to be something very deep
I loved her. I’m glad she lived
Same here!
JONATHAN 😊
we know what he said, it was in the book something around "you dont need all this money to be happy"
In what book ? 😅 The books are totally different. Are you talking about the books written by Caroline Kepnes ?
@@carlastn1836 you obviously know that's what they're talking about, you don't have to be rude about it.
@@hoziersexual 1. How is that rude ? 2. No, I meant that it's not said at all in the books. In the sense that the books don't ever take place outside of the states or with the same characters. I'm genuinely asking where the person read that. No hate or rudeness.
@@hoziersexual and when I said books are different, I didn't mean from what the person said, but from the Netflix show. Even if the result is the same.
I think she vaguely remembers having a conversation with him and getting the impression they talked about something deep thatmade her feel euphoric, but she has no recollection of what it actually was and so she keeps referencing it in hopes that Joe would reiterate himself.
I think he was brutally honest and a bit savage. This is because Phoebe asks him multiple times for his honest opinion later on. Especially that scene on her wedding day.
Maybe he said she wasn’t worth stalking
I think so too.
I always thought he just said he thought she was shallow and privileged or something to that affect. Basically insulting her cuz he has no filter since he was drunk or blacked out because it was his other personality or whatever ....and since no one ever talked to her so blunt she thought he was real and profound
That could be the case!
I think he actually said something like: I was wrong about you. You're actually a nice person... You really are.
Also at the wedding she also asked for his honest opinion since he had always been honest with her. That makes a lot of sense
Protect Phoebe at all cost💙.
Fantastic video, Phoebe was a much needed addition to the You cast.
Glad you enjoyed! And yes, she definitely was!
This was the one plot hole I wanted resolved in the second half and was so upset when nothing was revealed. Here’s to hoping for that information in season 5
Do we know that the shot of Pheobie crying was *after* he said whatever she bonded with him over? I always had the impression it was before. That whatever it was he said it's what brought her *out* of that emotional state that night?
That said... I actually started to wonder over the course of the season if Joe had *actually* said anything that profound or if Pheobie was just so intoxicated that during a moment of prologed eye contact she heard her own thoughts in his voice?
Thaaaank you for making this video and taking my recommendation. You're a Chad, M'lad 😎
I could totally be imagining this, but I thought this conversation was spoke of multiple times (I may have just understood your wording) throughout both parts of the season, and I also thought that in the last episode Kate asked Joe what he said to her and he replied that he had no idea
Exactly my thoughts as well
The point is that Joe was drunk at the time, that's why he doesn't remember what he said.
I think it’s safe to say The audience I loved lady Phoebe
She definitely became a likeable character!
Pretty sure in the books he said something along the lines of "You're too pure for all this money."
YEEEES PLEAAASE I WANTED TO KNOW SO BADLY AND FLR SO LOOONG😭😭
I'd imagine Joe say something like 'shes not a dainty princess that everyone should like, like people treat her as, in a demeaning way but she found it empowering, when she met the dawn the stalker she was saying that shes not always nice and nobody really knows her.
That could be the case!
He said “you should probably teach English in Indonesia or something”
Lol
Joe can't remember what Joe didn't say.
Pheobe seemed very sus in part 1 imo. Sure, Rhys as well, but Pheobe too…she started introducing people (suspects) to Joe after only recently meeting him, the mystery of what he said to her, her continuing to invite him to places…but it all went downward when she tried to seduce him. At that point I knew it wasn’t her
Honestly I think he was giving her some tough love of some sort. He probably told her some hard truth nobody else ever told her bc they feared if they hurt her feelings, she would get upset about it and ending the friendship and all the benefits that come with being part of an online megastars inner circle
That's fair!
Lady Phoebe is my favourite character in the entire show love her
Yeah she was a good inclusion for sure!
I saw comments from facebook saying Joe might have had another Personality when he talked to Phoebe that specific moment.
He could have done!
I dont think the scene of Joe, Phoebe and Kate on the couch is the correct conversation because Kate and Joe have a scene later on where Kate asks Joe what he said to Phoebe, I dont think she would have asked if she had been present when the conversation took place and already knew what was said
This is what im looking for!
Kate said she doesn't k ow what was said, so unless Pheobe returns that's not likely, sadly.
Every time someone brings this up, all I can think of is Jason Derulo's song "Whatcha say?" lol!
Probably said what he said in the beginning. Or something along the lines of '"you're more than just your fame and money, be free."
what Joe said to Phoebe is what the individual audience wants to hear.
I don't think Phoebe's crying was out of hurt. I saw someone else explain this in another video, but they theorized that Joe had told her she'd be a good school teacher, hence the ending where she's finally happy doing something she loves. Joe probably told her to chase her dreams or something along those lines.
Only for that bit that Kate may know- she asked Joe when they were kicked out of the wedding walking home what he said to Phoebe. So yeah
Yes i love your videos!
Thanks a lot!

I can't get past the effect a beard can have on a man. I mean come on Joe went from the social outcast dating a girl out of his league (season 1) to the mysterious and sexy proffessor that the rich and vain enjoy having around their parties to look more sophisticated. And the one major change he had was growing out a beard.
His wardrobe in S4 has also changed. I couldn't recognize him when the camera shots are far away.
Was Ellie suppose to have Nadia role in season 4 Ik she was going to appear but Jenna was busy filming Wednesday. I’m curious bc imagine if Ellie got framed like Nadia did and would of been full circle ⭕️ bc how she was framed in season 2 and it would definitely reveal Joe evil side. Overall I’m glad that if that was the case Jenna was busy bc Ellie deserves to get justice and answers for her sister
Wouldn't be logical since Nadia is a student. Wouldn't make sense to have Ellie suddenly be in the UK and on a campus
No
@Estella Plus, how, would she know Joe alive.
@@theinsurance2450 I think the show runners said he had been continuously sending her money this whole time but I could be mistaken.
@@BigO631 He said he would keep doing that until she is of legal age. She would have been 18 by the time of season 4.
I think he told her that she was a horrible and fake person or something along those lines. Something he would’ve wanted to say to everyone else in the group but it just came out to her. And that probably is what made her want to start be more selfless and helping children
I just thought it was one of those things where we never find out lol like Forrest Gumps Vietnam Speech 😅
That could well be the case!
@7:02 There you have it! You know just as much as you did before watching this video - nada.
I think he's just one of the few ppl who talked to her as if she was a normal person. He kept it real
She's my 3rd favorite character
That's fair - she was a good character!
Imagine, if Pheobe was YOU instead. But she could be smarter-than-You-think type, that will guess something is wrong with Jonathan...meanwhile, Adam will still try drive her to altar... 🤔
GREAT BRAINPLOT VIDEO YOU JOE GOLDBERG WHAT HE SAY 😢
Thanks!
Its crazy how youtube people can talk around the pot for 2 minutrs for filler without giving any new info and repeating themselves 3 times 🤯
Good theory. I think the writers probably simply didn't have anything in mind when they scribbled in the plot point "Joe says something poetic to Phoebe and now she trusts him"
Maybe he did tell some part of what of did to others, not killing but being obsessive and not letting go. Kate being close knew what happened and realised that he is kind of psychopath or something. She makes sure, he does not remember what he said and then uses him, trap him and get her things done. Killing people around her , maybe for some reason and also her father. Maybe she is outplaying him and giving him false sense of being safe
The title of this video is clickbaity
I loved Phoebe! She grew on me throughout the season! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Same here - she definitely got better in Season 4 Part 2!
Or maybe whatever he said will come back to bite him in season 5 when he’s caught and on trail 👀
True, that could be the case!
@@BrainPilotHi BrainPilot, I have a horror movie to review it's called Five Nights at Freddy's
You guys think this version should f Joe would love “ Love”?
What?
I think what they are trying to say is, "do you think that this season's version of Joe would of actually loved Love (his ex-wife)?"
@@Adethamyr yes, sorry for the typo
@@Adethamyr Probably the now evil Joe
@@nerky9663 i think Joe of the end of season 4 maybe, but still i don t know, i think the reason he stopped loving her, was not because She Kills people but because She killed Delilah, who Joe was close too and was the sister of Ellie, a kid that he Cares about
My theory is he said something along the lines of “only the most beautiful lovely people get stalked. Seeing your lovely face and hearing you speak brings so much joy to these peoples meaningless lives. The fact that you exists gives them purpose and love, even if it’s unrequited”. Which she found over whelming at first, but given her own lack of boundaries (as we can see with Adam) she flipped around to cope with the danger she deals with on a daily basis.
He said she had a great @ss lol
Joke comment. But it would be hilarious if that was the case.
😭
😂
i wish phoebe was the one he fell for she is so much more interesting than kate…but phoebe deserves her happy ending
Yeah she definitely deserved her happy ending!
I m glad it was not She is to Nice to be with Joe She would be another Beck or a Marienne
I think it was just a simple plot device to justify phoebe inviting joe to everything despite barely knowing him
That's fair!
The most logical explanation of all.
Kate doesnt know what he said bc she actually asked him in one episode and he said "tbh idk" lol
Probably a book quote
Off topic a little bit:
You know what really scares me? The fact that i was rooting for joes character. Hoping that he would change himself for the better ... Even tho he'd done horrible things i found myself rooting for him. It's so strange.... Im hoping someone else will comment and say they felt the same way about his character so ill know that nothing is wrong with me lol
Well Joe is finally one with himself and knows he’s not a good man but is trying to “stay good” or whatever that means anything could happen
I feel like it has to be significant. It was brought up several times throughout the season
Let’s hope so!
What if phoebe is the one making him doing things and texting him
Im pretty sure he said "omelette du fromage"
I think Phoebe will be Joes new obsession in the next season.
That would be interesting but I feel her story is done now!
I hope they tell us what he said in the next season somehow
I hope so too!
To me I can’t really guess. It’s been a min since I watched the last season but it was enough to affect her, meaningful enough for her to remember it and pass on to other people, but something else enough to make her wanna have sex with him
I don’t think it matters because I think we can all guess. It is the usual cynical generic things people say when they are drunk:
“No one is really your friend - Love is fake and we all die alone - You need to get over yourself, you are not the center of attention - Carpe diem bitch, don’t waste your time (which explains why she was rushing into things including marrying Adam) - Santa Claus is not real”.
Anyways. Lucky for Joe, Phoebe doesn’t hold grudges and actually learned from them. I guess the bigger question is that despite Joe doing horrendous things when he is passed out, that side, funny enough, end up saving a life. Which is probably the only redeemable quality. Which takes me to my next point.
I also see that the show probably will go into Joe being a Schizophrenic. Same way as Moonknight. We don’t know how many personalities there are. Not even Joe knows. Maybe there is a kinder Joe who is more into the tough love but not lethal. Just tells it as is when he is drunk and tired. Maybe that Joe will work against Evil Joe. Un-Joe himself. Plotting his own demise. By telling all of Evil Joe’s survivors how take him down. Cause no one knows Joe than Joe.
Hahaha that would be crazy
My guess is, her ending is a clue too their conversation.
I think eventually talked about books/ teaching, and Phoebe impressed him with her own intelligence that made Joe encourage her to teach.
I imagine he was very passionate about it at the time, but also militant about it.
Something like:
"At first i wanted to kill everyone in this place, but now, i want to kill you for wasting my your God giving gifts. Get your shit together, you're better than vermin your surround yourself with."
I wonder if she told anyone what he said
I hope she did! Maybe Adam.... but i guess we'll never know if she did!
I really dont think its all that deep. I think since she was very ditzy and high/drunk alot it wouldnt matter what Joe said, he likely fed her some phoney bolagna about being true to yourself and not letting the money and those around you dictate who you are. Phoebe was simply a plot device that ensured the events of the show played out.
I think that during Joe’s abuse, he created something to protect himself and protect his mother. That something has evolved into Rhys. This manifestation is to stop pretending to be so weak and helpless by letting the real YOU, the Dr. Jekyll/Hyde dark-side out. He avoided any real psychiatric help and self medicated. The source of his murderous behavior.
He relays his beliefs to Phoebe. Phoebe shows us her strength and abilities when backed into a corner with her stalker taking Joes advice in adrenaline and fear. The will to act and need to survive kicks in, he must have told her his hatred towards the rich, the people that were blessed with a perfect life and how he despises them. How they are so coy and pathetic , their addiction to social media, fame, money, of a fake beautiful life.
Life is a nightmare for Joe, where he has become Satan himself. Rhys is his disassociation or a 2nd personality that helped him survive. Rhys loves Joe and wants to protect him by any means necessary, just like joe protects his lovers and we see how it always turns out. He destroys everything he comes into contact with by protecting, his twisted definition of love. Phoebe, Marienne, Paco, Love, Nadia, Ellie, and Kate will all have their tragic ending.
Mark my words the whole thing with Phoebe will tie back to the last season and she will perhaps be a reason that Kate and joes relationship begins to deteriorate being that she likes Joe and her man’s gone🫡
That will be interesting to see if that happens!
Joe is so cute. Well Penn is
your interpretation is very wrong… joe, as the attacker/stalker justifies his actions in the name of love. he has no idea the impact he has upon his victims or how they would feel because in his head, this is the way he loves them. when they lash out in the cage, try to escape he just sees it as a normal hiccup in the relationship like an argument. his mind is twisted. if he truly understood the fear he would not do it, especially as a man. he will never be able to comprehend the anxiety of being a woman, the fear even when you’re just walking alone that the man across the street is actually plotting to assault or kidnap you.
Agree 100%
Didn’t Kate also ask what he said to Phoebe though?
Yea she did and he said he didn’t remember 😭
I have a feeling that writers made this up, just to hype and build their relationship. They couldn't bother coming up with anything enlightening, so they never told the audience. YOU has gone downhill in season 4 part 1 and only saved of everyone's acting.
She is the only one I liked on this season. And Marianne. Everyone else plssed me off
Phoebe was the nicest character they've ever had on the show, despite being introduced as a cliché rich chick.
A complete polar opposite to Peach from season 1.
Could be cat calling 😏
I highly doubt all the interactions he had were real.
It would be hilarious if what he said was really dumb. 😂
Loool
All the characters in this show was heavily unlikeable. I understand that the previous seasons unlikeable ones but this season's characters were the worst, besides Phoebe. She was the only reasonable and level headed character and the only likeable one.
When Joe first met Phoebe the first thing he said to Chandler was: "Excellent butt, great rack".
But they did answer the question. Joe told her everything about the fiancé using her for money, about the car collection sale and also the peeing fetish.
Ya’ll just lost your credibility with me. Seems like you just make videos to make them without actually knowing the material. It’s just lazy work.
So loud and wrong
Joe had just met these people for the first time on the party so there's no way he would know that.
Cry me a river.
troll ?
I personally think it will either play a part in season 5 or it's a moment of "nothing will ever beat what's in our imaginations" type of thing. The mystery, all of the speculation, what he said can't be profound enough to hold up all of our expectations. Either that or it is some sort of catalyst in season 5. That being, him being caught or realizing he's a much more nuanced person than he believes himself to be. Perhaps? I guess we'll find out when the series finale comes around. Because I don't believe it's a plot hole either.
Let me help you so you don't have to sit through 8 minutes. No one knows what he said
