I wish Monkey World was more famous and shown to more people around the world because believe it or not some people still condone animal abuse and like to troll on the internet. You'd think it's common sense to not take a picture with an animal being forced to pose but people do it. Like that one oranguatan at Safari Park in Thailand in need of rescue.

Unfortunately too many top primates , (humans ) think it is acceptable to exploit animals as we supposedly have dominion over them. Macaque’s are arguably the most maligned primates on the planet. 100 thousand of them are murdered in research facilities every year. They are harassed and exploited at the temples and troop sites and stolen from their mothers in droves for RUclips and other views where babies are bathed - diapered- bottle fed and repeat. They are always in trouble for tearing up paper, picking on other monkeys, etc. I think the most viewed are where they are positioned at attention and mercilessly scolded for being a wild animal. The flinching and looks of despair in their eyes is heartbreaking. Another horror show happens when the babies butts are pulled up and slathered with Betadine. They scream and scream in pain grabbing at their behinds to no avail as this caustic substance is smeared on them. Then, when they are no longer cute they are dumped back into the Forrest where they have no social skills or understanding of the hierarchy. When will humans evolve enough to stop exploiting animals. It’s very heartbreaking.

We've seen more than one person keeping primates, that have personal mental health issues. The person who had Chic was likely on the fringe and should not have had any pets in her care. Keeping animals of any kind needs to be viewed as a privilege not a right. There needs to be assessment and licensing for anyone wanting a pet.

The way the Marmoset parents work together to take care of their little ones is really amazing to me. Especially when they had four at one time! They both seem to be very attentive and loving. Considering the fact they didn’t grow up seeing the ways of their world it’s pretty remarkable. Humans could learn a thing or two!

Sheer ignorance to the main fact that these are wild animals, they are not pets like a dog or cat. If monkeys have never been domesticated by now after thousands of years, I really don't believe they ever will be. Just amazing there are people that think they will be the one to do so. What they create is a mentally, socially, psychologically and more times than not, physically damaged monkey that may or may not be able to be rehabilitated. 😞

Thank you for mentioning the inspiration for those names! I thought it was an odd combination of names, a common, traditional female name but then a fairly unusual one for the boy. Twins will often be given names that are similar in some way such as rhyming, starting with the same letter, or related in some other way (ie, Peter/Piper, Tina/Turner, etc). Mary and Pippen didn't fall into any of those categories as far as I could tell since I haven't read LOTR or seen the movies. Thanks again for solving this little mystery! 😂

My thoughts are the people getting a monkey for a pet have no idea what to do with one, once they have one they realize a monkey is a wild animal and not a pet, so they just leave them in cages, especially when they start getting older and aggressive. Then they start trying to figure out what to do with the poor monkey. Start calling rehabilitation centers and sanctuaries only to find most have waiting lists. And just wait til one has an opening. Or they resell the poor thing to, well, you can take your pick on this answer.

    • @leslie6938

Unless I missed something, nothing was said in the episode to indicate the parents did anything wrong. In fact they talked about how good a job they had done, that despite being captives most of their lives their natural instincts kicked in.
Hand raising is only done as a last resort. It's always better for the animals to be fed and raised by their mother/parents, by their own kind. The staff watch all monkeys carefully and especially four new babies. They didn't remove any for hand raising, so they didn't see any reason to do that, another indication the parents were doing a good job.

Then it’s announced that we don’t care if the owner has paper work or not we’re taking the girl no matter what ! If that was my monkey I’d be sitting in my lawyers office . Period that was a brutal experience for the owner and the lil girl . Lots of lost respect for this channel to ignore the rights the licensing and the unprofessional and lack of representation to monkey world I have worked at a couple of zoos . But I believe in laws that both protect and prevent if she had her current license then why wasn’t she given time it correct the issues I seen her sleep area was dirty and the. Top of the box was dirty but the stone floor was clean the area around the food was clean besides the melon she didn’t like she was not under nourished her tail and groin area were bare but maybe it had been shaved or the monkey itself didn’t like all the fur that would get covered in crap 💩? But now it’s been removed to s forgien place she’s not with her human that was probably her human mom ! There’s always two ways of seeing everything. Taking a licensed monkey away from someone legally owning a monkey for such very little problems. I promise if you walked into any zoo with monkeys 3-4 days of not deep cleaning the animals inside areas it’d look the same ! And I’ve worked at few zoos that were that way . @leslie6938 8 месяцев назад

Monkey World's mission is NOT to help people keep wild animals as pets. No one with the animal's welfare in mind would do that. Their mission is to rehabilitate and offer sanctuary to animals that have been abandoned, abused, neglected, retired from circuses or research facilities, or trafficked into the illegal pet trade, etc.
They release some primates back into the wild when both the animal and the available environment meet the conditions necessary for survival. However most animals they take in will need care for the rest of their lives, and Monkey World offers the best care (physically, mentally, socially, psychologically, environmentally) and the most freedom they possibly can, greatly improving the quality of life compared to where they were before.
Also, Allison/Monkey World didn't steal the capuchin. The SPCA and police were called to investigate the monkey's well being and to decide if it needed to be removed. Having a license is not the only requirement, the animal must be cared for properly, according to their laws. Allison was there to take custody in the event the monkey was removed. In other episodes they've mentioned there will sometimes be court proceedings to decide if an animal should stay with an owner or go to Monkey World so that is a possibility in this case too.
