I completely forgot to talk about the Kronos rush in this video.
A common strategy many players also use is to timeshift your temple forward while you're advancing and use your free two myth units to start attacking your enemy. I didn't do it here because my opponent was Hades (he gets a god power for defense), but vs a lot of civs if you timeshift your temple forward you can use your myth units to start harassing him earlier on.
@@IamMagicAOM I think deconstruction is worth of a mention too. Its nice against opponents dock.

How can I counteract this strategy? Because I played Hades and the other player was Kronos and rush me with 6 or 7 Automata
@@DimaErmakov97 I see he used deconstruction at 7:15 on the video (3:10 in-game time) but we don't see what was deconstructed. I suppose it was the temple?
Made me guess whether they lose their free mythic unit if when age up is complete there's no temple for it to spawn.

I like the villager spread on the Excel sheet. It makes it easier to visualize where villagers should be when I'm just reading the build.

The villager spread on the Excel sheet is great for visualization! I think the formatting of the build guide should be changed to match that of the Excel sheet, as it would make it even easier to understand where villagers should go while reading the build

Your explanation makes the game so interesting and fresh. My previous understanding of the game (and RTS in general) is to execute a predetermined strategy with perfect micro and macro with some fixed variations. Now I see what you meant by decision making and how dynamic and interesting it is to read your opponent and make decisions in the split of a second. Really appreciate your contribution to the game.

Just wanted to say, I always used to use cheats. And after watching some of your videos I was able to beat the computer on hard without a single cheat. I mined all the gold from the map, was certain I was going to fail multiple times. But I did it! 1 hour and 12 mins later I can finally say I’m an AOM player. Thank you!!! ❤
Now to complete the campaign(s) without cheats 😅
I'm really learning a lot from these videos as a beginner player really helpful listening to your thought process throughout the game and how to adjust and react to certain things your opponent is doing keep it up dood.

Subscribed, I used to be an Egyptian main in Titans, but lately I have fell in love with Atlanteans and how unique they are as a Civ, and I can't wait to experiment more and see what comes out around them.

Important note all hero units can pick up relics with atlanteans so with the oricles you can get them in age 1 practicaly once you build a temple and make them heroes which also allow them to have slower degeneration of LOS while moving and more buildup of Favor on top of getting the relics before everyone.

Hey. Thank you for this analysis and explaining your thought process to go to Heroic. What would it be the conditions or your thought process to decide when to get army upgrades?
i'd say once you have 10-15 units and you get some downtime you should definitely get the first line, it's super worth it

Kronos has 10% reduced cost / movement speed on Siege Weapons + Myth units right? Why isn’t it in description in game?
I think this was removed from the game in favor of the new bonuses

Its really mean u can open and send one Oracle over and scout out where the temple will be dropped on their side. As soon as it gets dropped immediately use the deconstruct spell and set your opponent back immediately

I think Kronos will have a very high skill ceiling, making use of his bonuses to maximum effect does seem very strong but not straightforward to beginer players
in your guide it says get handaxe pickaxe while advancing. but you didnt build or mention it in the replay. which civ would build it and at what time? thanks for these guides though they are awesome!
Yeah that was something I should have explained, if you’re being rushed or attacked I’d skip these upgrades in favour of more army but if the game is passive then I’d get them

your cheroblista are going to deal with all the infantry. and if they go cav, u go kap, if they go archer, u go truma
all of it are in counter barracks.
why build a separate building for a unit which weaker in most aspects.
if you want to raid or move around on the map, murmillo are a general purpose unit that can go by themselves, turma/cheiro/kats all rely upon each other as they're all counter units and you can't really raid with them. (maybe the turma you could)
What did you use your deconstruction on? I would imagine that the Temple is a prime target in the Archaic age.

You say handaxe/pickaxe before age 2, but in the match you didn't build an economic guild until way later? Also, I'd love to see a video explaining the most efficient food sources, you didn't hunt much this game but your food income seemed fine. I'd also like to see a video in general that goes over the economy management in the mid/late game.

not always! depends a lot on the match up and the flow of the game
That's second game I saw you win instantly after aging up and using a god power on enemy.
Did opponent missplay or is that god power so OP?

What if you go for a villager center really fast with Kronos, with a bunch of manors around it? Seems less risky then going for the second TC

At the start you mentioned you get handaxe and pickaxe during age up. You didn't do so in the recorded game but I suppose that was in response to Pegasus' fast age up time?

At some point you use deconstruction off screen, which building did you target? Is targeting the enemy temple worth it to try and delay the free myth unit? Also can Leto be a good choice?
@@theowlogram888 I think it was just the temple that I deconstructed, I think it’s nice to do to delay his early aggression, you’re also burning up some vill time while he rebuilds.
I haven’t played around with Leto too much, I can’t say just yet, sorry!

i just cant seem to hit your builds exactly, ive tried all different ways! i can only advance with thor at 4:05 and i think you did 4:00 i cant hit 3:50 on loki either im usually 3:55 do you think thats down to my missmanagement of microing my macro? still love the guides :D what do you think of the chinese gods whethrer they will come?
don't be too hard on yourself, sometimes when I play i'm not getting these times either! little variations in the map may lead to different results, a few seconds off is okay.

No matter what I try I get out turtles by hades and rushed to smitherines by Zeus Minotaur, I feel like only Odin stands a chance but I’ve heard suppe say he thinks Loki maybe A tier and nobody has figured him out yet, he thinks a fast heroic vs Greek and flaming could be the answer but I may of been thinking somebody else said that.
I’m sad because I feel like Norse are really weak other than Odin, even Freyr seems a bit weak but I’m only an average player, what’s your thoughts from a pro?
