Heads up everyone, I'm back to work tomorrow so might be a bit late on posting videos going forward and might not have time to respond to every comment, but I'll try my best. Thank you guys for all the support and the subscriptions, would have never imagined this page would have gained steam so quickly, thank you everyone! :)
Your videos are extremely well put together, super informative an a great way to learn how to play, looking foward for more guides, build orders along with good choices on minor gods and so on, ty!
I’m new to AOM and I’m actually loving Atlanteans even though I know it isn’t the best civ/race but guess its an easy starting civ. Love the guide, keep up the good work!!
Dont underestimate the Atlanteans my friend! The fact that they are "an easy starting civ" does not make them weaker. I think its healthier to think about it in terms of matchups, ex Gaia might be weak against Loki (Loki = lots of myth units & Gaia does not have valor). But in many cases since most of us are not pros and cant utilize the advantages we have to the fullest, having a civ that has less micro and gives you more time to think might give you an edge over most players.
As an Atlantheans main I must say that for now, if we talk about meta, they are extremely nerfed compared to the original or extended edition. But they still are my favourite civ and they are very fun to play in my opinion, specially with the looking of their units plus the possibility to have an entire army of heroes!
One point you haven't mentionned is that +4 line of sight from ouranos actually impact favor gathering from oracle! Also I've been using theft of fire very well by converting citizen to hero during my transition to classical age so my eco is monstrous. It's very good for a one TC all-in with delayed hit but very greedy so not so great vs rushes.
I don't know if it's intentional or not, but Oranos gets a hidden favor-bonus due to his LoS bonus(I guess). Oranos's Oracles: 0.07/s and 0.1/s for heroes Other Atlantean's Oracles: 0.06/s and 0.08/s for heroes Maybe a potential Murmillo hero rush with Bite of the Shark and Frontline Heroics? Would be nice if someone more skilled than me can try it out :P Then you have Theia's Prophetic Sight in Heroic Age for even more Oracle favor generation
1 citizen to hunt, 1 to wood citizen to gold all remaining citizens to food temple as soon as you have 150 wood/gold advance around 2:50 (the last vill before clicking advance put on gold) hand axe/pickaxe while advancing get barracks and start making murmillo to open with next few vills that you make go onto chicken, then play accordingly
i usually go hecate, but helios can be great if the map is really walled up and its hard to move around freely, also centimanus (the myth unit) is really good
What's the rationale behind murmillo here as opposed to katapeltes and cheiroballista? As a newer player I basically never go barracks and always do 2x counter barracks. What am I missing?
murmillo are good vs almost everything, they have naturally high dps so if your opponent goes cavalry OR infantry, it works vs both, it's just a great unit to use! if you like to play a heavy counter style than double counter rax works too - however it's harder to put pressure on the map since if you're making counter units you generally need to have two groups of units to aid each other whereas murmillo can handle themselves vs most units.
sorry about that, I dropped the ball here. please see below: 1 citizen to hunt, 1 to wood citizen to gold all remaining citizens to food temple as soon as you have 150 wood/gold advance around 2:50 (the last vill before clicking advance put on gold) hand axe/pickaxe while advancing get barracks and start making murmillo to open with next few vills that you make go onto chicken, then play accordingly
@@IamMagicAOM thanks! I really want to try out oranos, i main egyptians and really should try playing something else, so this guide was super interesting!
Why do you think Oranos isnt played as much in retold? I see a lot of Gaia and Kronos. What do you think he is good at? Do you think he can compete with Kronos rush with early shockwave? Or gaias economy? It’s a shame he was nerfed a bit. I’m a bit wary to take him into the ranks. I don’t know if his mythic gods are strong enough.
give it time, Atlantean got changed a lot and people need time to figure them out I think he can def compete with kronos given the shockwave, he can also be aggro with sky passages
@@IamMagicAOM What about while you aging up? I feel like it's a way to gain "villager" while you can't train them at the cost of less ressources banked upon aging. But with theft of fire + valor on top, it scales very well!
What part do you think was downgraded too much? I think losing LOS over settlements was very important. Especially since in retold no one knows how many TCs you have unless they are scouted (unlike the OG), its an important balance change. +I think the free speed to all military also had to go. It was a bit too much. The combination with shockwave was very strong, let alone hit and run tactics. Other that that sky passages are fine, still usable just not spam-able Were there other nerfs apart from these?
The new Oranos is much more balanced in my opinion. The 10% speed bonus on everything was just tooo much of a bonus. It made Gaia and Kronos pale in comparison. For example, in the original game, turmas sucked, except for Oranos' turmas which had 5.5 speed, and was thus "OP". Now, turmas are 5.3 speed and every atty has access to them, making it so much more balanced

Do you plan a Gaia build order?
@@Crosmando yeah at some point, I have a feeling a patch is coming soon so it’s best to wait a bit
Katapeltes is now a counter infantry no ?
this is my first RTS, thank you so much your guides make the learning curve so much smoother
Another great video! Hope you'll still find the time to play and make videos when you're back to work. It's a pleasure to watch. Thanks man!

Awsome videos dude.. even addictive the way you explain..😊
Thanks again for the Rec game Review!
Showing us what decisions you make and why is VERY informative!

This is my fav content. Keep it up 🎉
great analysis, i've been playing since 2003 and i guess i never looked the game as good as this.
The chaos spell was amazing. I didn't expect it will destroy ennemy player army this fast
More Oranos! Haven't seen much of him online! I'd like to know more build s!
Another great video! I have been looking forward to an Atlantean build order / game review. 🙏
Impatiently waiting for you to cover all the other gods so i can get a guide for all of my favorites...

Absolutely loving these, hoping for a Gaia build order soon ;D
one of my friends said hes working on this, check out the keen gaming youtube channel!
@@IamMagicAOM ooh nice, will keep an eye out
Tactic clinic the whole video… 👍🏼 the goat
Great vid, thanks!
Btw the build order screen didn’t show up in the video, I guess. Can u fix it.
1 citizen to hunt, 1 to wood
citizen to gold
all remaining citizens to food
temple as soon as you have 150 wood/gold
advance around 2:50 (the last vill before clicking advance put on gold)
hand axe/pickaxe while advancing
get barracks and start making murmillo to open with
next few vills that you make go onto chicken, then play accordingly
Thanks man, and I also forgot to say.. great content as always. Cheers.
Oracle had higher favour gain right?
Yeah
Who do you recommend going with for the mythic age? What are the main pros and cons between Helios and Hecate?
i usually go hecate, but helios can be great if the map is really walled up and its hard to move around freely, also centimanus (the myth unit) is really good

thanks for the detailed reply, makes sense

Atlateans needs buffs right? They feel very underwhelming
feels like it a bit but we also need to give it some time
@@IamMagicAOM ty for reply!
Great work but isnt oceanus just better than prometheus or Im missing sth? Even against those angry minotaurs oceanus may possibly defend better
they're both great options!

How do you get it to play in realtime? All my replays are sped up no matter which speed setting I click/spam
it's glitched right now, they'll fix it soon I hope!
It doesn't actually show the build order just a picture of oranos. Not sure if that's what you intended
I had a little summary on excel I though, let me have another look when I get on my pc later today
Magic what's your PC specs?
Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-Core Processor 3.70 GHz
Installed RAM: 16.0 GB
Graphics Card: RTX 3080
Do you think it's ever worth it to promote your citizens in the archaic age? It certainly pays off in the long run, but it also delays your age up.
i think it will delay your advance time too much and you might get bullied off resources
@@IamMagicAOM What about while you aging up? I feel like it's a way to gain "villager" while you can't train them at the cost of less ressources banked upon aging. But with theft of fire + valor on top, it scales very well!
realy nice tutorial +1 sub =)
great video, maybe oranos isn't that bad now
POGGIES lets Goo
I am so fucking bad at ranked games, I think I'll write this down
14:20 jesus
Dont really like atlanteans but still thx for the build :)
We want zeus
Poor Ouranos. In my opinion, he was downgraded too much - and his new and official God Portrait looks worse than the Beta God Portrait.
