Always interesting to see what brings what and where. Those prices are about the same as around here. That 1855 looked pretty nice, and, for a nice one, that's a decent price. Thanks for the video!
I figured you guys would enjoy this one and it was the only reason I went to the sale was to see the 1855 sell, I was interested in myself but it was out of my range pretty quick ! LOL I was surprised that they got $6900 for it , I was thinking in the 4 to 5 thousand dollar range but then again it was a low hour good strait clean original tractor and those are hard to come by in any color tractor gas or diesel ! Bandit
First off, I am so mad I didn't see any ad for this sale; at least it would have been a close one to attend. The last Kersey auction I went to, was one of these pooling sales with multiple families... and all the household stuff. The sale started at ten, they sold the tractors at one, then they went back to small stuff. The rest of the equipment didn't start until three. I bought a gravity box, two sets of 28" duals with mounting hardware, and the ten foot disc I fixed in my first video all for Ben and Ulysses. Everyone left the sale.
Not many sales around us anymore , You got to drive a half hour to an hour to find a sale anymore. Kersey auctions are kind of nice to go to and close to home but there just selling what they can anymore, Not many small farms are having sales anymore so we got to go ware the sales are at now. Smaller equipment is getting harder to find and cost's more to buy it now than it used to. I was surprised I didnt see you there but I figured you had something going on. Bandit
It's good to be back up and running now ! The guy who got it was on the phone so who knows who really got it. But it sure would have looked good in my barn ! Bandit
That is a nice clean Oliver! It did seem to be a little on the high side for a gas engine. The thing is they are not making anymore Oliver's and that one is nice so that kinda helps drive the price up.
That is the tractor you should get working. I drove a comfort king as a kid and enjoyed it. Had great power. That should pull all your tools without any problems. Switch should be cheaper than another tractor
I have ever intention of getting it running, It runs its just the key switch is bad and the only way to start it is to jump a crossed the starter with a screw driver and without the key switch working it wont charge the battery. I've ordered 3 switches and none fit the plug on the wiring harness and I really don't want to butcher the wiring to make a switch work. I just got to find the right one to fit it. Big Bertha is a horse you cant slow down and I do miss using her and want it running again so I can use it. Bandit
Last year (2018), a local auction house here in VA had a 1655 Oliver diesel with front loader, bucket and forks. Also had a 9700 Ford with cab and front snow plow. The Oliver went for $6500 and the Ford went for $3000.
This is one of those tractors you see at a sale that you really don't know what it will bring, Most people don't want a 100 hp gas tractor to start with let alone one that's narrow front. But these days what most people think goes right out the window when it comes to a sale anymore, All I know is 2 people really wanted it and at least one more that wanted it in his barn ! LOL Bandit
That was a nice looking Oliver from the looks of the pictures of it. I wouldn't have thought a tractor with narrow front & being a gasser would've went that high but, what do I know. You keep making videos like this & you'll be taking Machinery Pete"s job. LOL Stay safe.
I was a good looking clean strait original tractor for sure and low hour at 1500 hours , I was thinking $4000 to $5000 but I never thought it would bring $6900 ! I was really surprised at what it brought but ware are you going to find anything like it ? With fuel prices like they are now it really wouldn't matter if its gas or diesel to a small farmer , And it would be nice to have come winter time cause it will start easer. I'd have a long way to go to even get close to Machinery Pete's ability to make video's ! LOL Bandit
I wouldn't call it cheep but it was a good strait original tractor and those are hard to come by these days. Its an unusual tractor being an Oliver 1855 gas NF with 1500 hours and as nice as it was for sure, But I guess at a well advertised sale it might bring $8500 or more. Who knows that might be ware it ends up at another auction in a month or so. Who Knows ? I've changed a half a dozen 1850's and 1950's from narrow front to wide fronts over the years but never a wide to a narrow front, But its easy enough to do . Bandit
Its funny how it all depends on who's at the sale! Ive seen tractors go for scrap price at one sale then top dollar on the next! Crazy how that happens. I wish it would have been the other way for you so we could see you sitting on her with a big old grin on your face! Take care bud!
That's a tractor I had no idea what it would bring and it was a good clean strait low hour tractor and those are hard to come by these days in any color. I would have loved to have bought it but my pockets aren't that deep ! LOL I agree with you on seeing tractor bring big money after seeing it sell before like you said for a little bit of nothing. I like my Oliver's but not that much ! LOL Bandit
It was an interesting sale to go to, Some stuff went kind of cheep but others went high. So kind of a normal sale ! LOL I'm glad to be putting videos back up now, I was starting to have feelings of withdraw not being able to post videos ! Its not all the way fixed but at least I can post videos again ! Bandit
Time travel is fun LOL ! I went to the sale to look at the Oliver 1855 Gas Narrow Front with 1500 original hours. I had no idea what it would bring or even what it was worth, A 100 hp gas NF tractor usually don't bring that much so who knows what it will bring. Much to my surprise it brought $6900 ! WOW ! It was a big surprise to me what it sold for but its the only one I have ever seen sell in my life and I think the only one I have ever seen in my life. But the Oliver was a good clean strait original tractor with 1500 hours will there really hard to find like this. I hope you enjoy. Bandit
Ah man, and here I thought I'd see a new piece of equipment working in your fields. Pretty awesome IH 200. Never saw one of those before, but I don't know to much about those Red ones
I've been around tractors sense the late 60's and bought and sold a bunch of them but it never gets old seeing one that you didnt know they made ! Here is one for you to look up, Allis Chalmers D17 Tall Boy its not a regular one or a high crop model its inbetween them. Its different ! Or how about a Cockshutt 1350 , There are a lot of different models of tractors most people have never seen. I was hopping to bring the Oliver home but it didnt take long to be out of my price range , But it still would have looked good in my barn or field ! Bandit
We had a D17 to put shavings in the chicken house's and other odd jobs, doesn't get used for really anything other than hauling shavings though. Sure are some neat uncommon models out there. Don't make stuff like they used to I guess. You ever own any Cockshutt's? I know what you mean about getting out of your price range, happened to me recently at a sale. Ha, oh well, what can ya do
When I go to a tractor show I dont care about the commend tractors like a JD A or B IH H or M or Oliver 77 or 88 , These are plain Jane tractors and a dime a dozen. No I want to see the odd ball low production or tractors you just dont see, Like my Oliver 1550 Utility and Shepard Deisel and French made David Brown thats Pink or even an old Long 900 like mine. Alot of guys get mad at me for being like this but I like the odd ball tractors, I dont know why I do I just do. Once you see a slick JD A or Farmall H or Oliver 77 you have seen them all cause they are plain Jane tractors that they made a lot of. I want to see JD 435's A Cockshutt 1350 and I'd love to see a Cockshutt 1550 Utility in person cause there were only 4 built ! LOL Not many Cockshutt tractors around here but I tried to buy a couple but didnt have deep enough pockets ! LOL There one of a few brands I havent owned yet. But maybe someday. Bandit
Right, I agree with you there. My grandpa and uncle restored two Shepard's, that's a hobby of theres. And since theres a couple old unused chicken houses they have an excuse to fill them up haha. They try and find uncommon models, but have all your well known models as well. Just what is cheap and is a good deal at the time. I don't know to much about many 'odd ball tractors" but I do like seeing them. I just love the oldies in general, glad there still around, guess theres a reason for that though.
Oh no ! Your hooked on old iron ! It incureable so you cant fight it , All you can do is make it happy by staying close to old iron and when you do you will feel much better. LOL Bandit
I think there was more than one there for it to bring what it did,, I would have loved to have it in my barn ! It would have felt right at home with my 3 1550's ! LOL Bandit
That's not a cheap tractor to my mind. I guess that, as you said, it would probably have been bought by a collector as there cannot be many of those about in as good condition.
I think it bought what it was worth cause there were several people bidding on it, The guy who was high bidder was on the phone so I don't know who got it, But they got a good looking tractor for sure. Bandit
That thing is straight! I'd say that's a good price. There was an gas 1855 sold by me last summer. Same clean unit except it was a wide front. Sold for 6700. Now keep lookin one will come up again
This is a tractor that I really didnt have a clue what it would bring, Part of me thinks its a 100 hp gas NF tractor so it wont bring that much. But the other part of me thinks its a low hour (1500)1855 gas NF thats clean and strait and all original and it could bring good money. The manual had the original owners name in it and I knew who he was and this guy bought it at his sale in 96 or 97 and had it all these years and its still looks good so you know it had been taken care of over the years. I'll find on someday, I just got to keep looking. Bandit
Its hard to tell at auction what machinery is going to bring. You have a price in your head, and you end up scratching it when the hammer falls. To me the 1086 was the deal of the day at 10 grand. take care, see you next post.
This was one I really didnt have a good idea what it would bring, But being an 1855 gas NF I really didnt think it would bring that much. Saying that I have to say that it was very clean strait low hour tractor and all original, He had bought this tractor from the original owner so for a 45 year old tractor it was in really good condition for its age. I thought the 886 was kind of a cheep price for it in its condition , Like new rubber and really good duals too I think $10500 was cheep for it. Bandit
I sure would have loved to have hauled it home to my barn , This is the only 1855 gas NF I have ever seen sell in my life kind of like the 1955T I saw the was NF or a 2-105 White NF and a JD 4230 NF and they were all factory ! Sometimes going to the sale is fun just to see the equipment ! Bandit
probably wasn't the worst price, but in my humble opinion, I would have passed and bought something like an 806 international for 5000. nice to see that the computer is working again.
I would have never given $6900 for it myself but I'm not everybody ! LOL I can find better things to spend my money on, LOL Maybe a little on a girl friend ! LOL LOL LOL ! Bandit
It would be nice to have dont get me wrong but for $5000 to $6000 I can buy a real good 1850 diesel and put the rest in the bank as "In case of Money" and would be very happy with it that way. The 886 brought $10500 and it was a good tractor but it wasnt for me. Bandit
I had a 766 and it was a good one but I sold it when I got married so I didnt oue anyone any money at all, Best thing I could have done ! For the price of a good 886 or a 1086 I can buy a good Oliver for half the price and to me that is what I would have to do, But for now thats what I have to do but someday I would love to have a nice tractor with a cab with some creature comforts ! I really do like the sound of and IH ! LOL Bandit
I wish I could have brought one home but I didn't, I was interested in the Oliver 1855 but had no idea what it was going to bring. If it went cheep enough it would have come home with me but not for $6900 ad it would have taken more to bring it home. I wish I had the money for it but my pockets are not that deep ! LOL Bandit
There weren't many built in the 200 before they went to the 230 (I think that's the number) and they are hard to find. Its like finding a JD 60 with 3pt with finders , Just don't see them like that everyday. Bandit
oh man id like to have that allis! to me it looked like a wd45 because i noticed the curved gear shift. so will a wd45 shifter fit a wd no problem? LOL! thanks for thinking of me!
I think it was a 54 WD45 and all original except for the fuel tank , Was told it came off a junked tractor ! The shifter off a 45 will fit a WD and that used to be something guys used to change to pass off a WD as a WD45, But guys who know these tractors will know the differences between them. I really almost bought that side mounted mower for you but I got cold feet about it. Sorry about that. Hay how many times have you had to pull the shifter out and line the shift rails back up ? LOL I got good at doing it ! LOL Bandit
Bandit farmer I noticed the fuel tank too, still a clean tractor. Wd has a push rod cover, wd45 doesn't! I can tell them apart! Lol. Ok, thanks for that I'm gonna get a 45 shift tower and rebuild it so I have one. And so far we haven't had to pull the rod to re align the forks knock on wood! Lol and it's ok on the mower, I don't know what I'd do with it lol, but I would play with it. I like anything AC! I bought a wd wd45 mud scraper on eBay for $75!
Oh it was fun seeing this stuff sell, But for the first time in a long time I went to a sale and spent more on food than I did on the 2 items I bought ! LOL I like to go to sales in part to see what equipment is selling for and to look for goodies ! I missed a few I should have bought but I got parts sitting every ware as it is now so I didnt buy them, But I still had fun watching ! Bandit
The 930 is sitting in the barn while I try to find the rigt key switch for it, It bad and I've got 3 switches and so far none fit the plug on the wireing harness so I'm still looking for one. I dont like to jump a crossed the starter to get one started and it wont charge the battires without the key switch working. So I'm in serch of the right switch for Big Bertha ! Bandit
I don't know how rare it is but I know they didn't build that many gas 1855's and maybe 8% were built as Narrow Fronts in gas and diesel. Most people don't want a 100 hp gas tractor in any brand but there are a few of us that it really doesn't matter witch it is, Just depends on what you want to use it for. Bandit
I really don't know who bought it, The guy bidding was on the phone talking to someone so who knows who bought it or ware it went to. Collector or farmer who wants a big gas tractor for what ever reason, But all I know is it was a good looking original tractor that are hard to come by these days. If it would have been cheaper it would have come home with me ! Bandit
I have no idea what the guy who bought it is going to do with it but I'd love to know ! I think the tractor being was it is makes it worth more than an adverage tractor, Low hour clean and strait with bright paint and all original, Those are hard to come by and why it brought what it did. But it was still a surprise ! Bandit
I would have liked to have it but its not a tractor I would spend $6800 on myself. But it was a clean low hour original tractor that is really hard to find now. I like all brands of tractors but I do have a soft spot for Oliver's especially the 50 series Oliver's. There just good rock solid tractors well built to work and comfortable to run. Bandit
I have no idea what I'll buy or when all depends on price and condition ! My 1550 gas only burns about 2 1/2 to 3 gallon pulling it hard , But I dont pull it hard that often so it really dont matter to me. Its still a good tractor . Bandit
This was a tractor that everybody really didnt know what it would bring , Normally a 100 horse gas tractor wont bring that much. But beings it was all original good slean and strait with 1500 hours on it and no one had a good idea what it would bring, But we sure found out what it was worth, $6900 LOL. The 1086 had about 5200 hours on it if I remeber right, It needed a few things fixed but still a good tractor with really good rubber. I would have liked to have had ether tractor but they were out of my price range ! LOL But I can dream ! Bandit
I had no idea what it would bring but I thought 4 to 5 thousand would have been about right but $6900 WOW ! I wish I had a couple just like it to sell ! Bandit
Wonderful to see you BACK. I'm with Jeff, a collector wanted this Oliver. Some of that equipment was sure nice!
It's good to be back up and running now ! The guy who got it was on the phone so who knows who really got it. But it sure would have looked good in my barn ! Bandit

I always liked the way the Oliver 6 cyl. Gas engines sounded
They do have a sound all there own ! Very smooth and had a deep voice ! Bandit
Wow, I wouldn't pay that either. A gas widefront 1855 w/ cab I used to run (and new clutch) brought ~5,000 if I remember right.
This is one of those tractors you see at a sale that you really don't know what it will bring, Most people don't want a 100 hp gas tractor to start with let alone one that's narrow front. That would have been a neat sale to go to. Glad your computer issue is resolved.

Bandit farmer, lol, the girls generally appreciate if you don't blow all your money on toys and leave them with nothing lol
Very true ! LOL But if you find the right one she will like the same things as you ! LOL Bandit
Bandit farmer, that kind of girl is usually few and far between lol
Well you got to beat the bushes to find one and when you do never let them go. Bandit
You need that 886 IH - is that diesel - depends on the cost
It would be nice to have dont get me wrong but for $5000 to $6000 I can buy a real good 1850 diesel and put the rest in the bank as "In case of Money" and would be very happy with it that way. The 886 brought $10500 and it was a good tractor but it wasnt for me. Bandit
U need that 1086 nice comfortable cab lol
I had a 766 and it was a good one but I sold it when I got married so I didnt oue anyone any money at all, Best thing I could have done ! For the price of a good 886 or a 1086 I can buy a good Oliver for half the price and to me that is what I would have to do, But for now thats what I have to do but someday I would love to have a nice tractor with a cab with some creature comforts ! I really do like the sound of and IH ! LOL Bandit
well ya got a new toy good goin
I wish I could have brought one home but I didn't, I was interested in the Oliver 1855 but had no idea what it was going to bring. If it went cheep enough it would have come home with me but not for $6900 ad it would have taken more to bring it home. I wish I had the money for it but my pockets are not that deep ! LOL Bandit
I can't remember seeing a Farmall 200 before.
me and you both David
There weren't many built in the 200 before they went to the 230 (I think that's the number) and they are hard to find. Its like finding a JD 60 with 3pt with finders , Just don't see them like that everyday. Bandit
Bandit farmer I had to google them looks like they replaced the super c.
oh man id like to have that allis! to me it looked like a wd45 because i noticed the curved gear shift. so will a wd45 shifter fit a wd no problem? LOL! thanks for thinking of me!
Thanks Bandit hope you had fun at the auction!
Bandit
What happened to your case 830
The 930 is sitting in the barn while I try to find the rigt key switch for it, It bad and I've got 3 switches and so far none fit the plug on the wireing harness so I'm still looking for one. I dont like to jump a crossed the starter to get one started and it wont charge the battires without the key switch working. So I'm in serch of the right switch for Big Bertha ! Bandit
How rare of a tractor is that Oliver?
I don't know how rare it is but I know they didn't build that many gas 1855's and maybe 8% were built as Narrow Fronts in gas and diesel. Most people don't want a 100 hp gas tractor in any brand but there are a few of us that it really doesn't matter witch it is, Just depends on what you want to use it for. Bandit
It might be that since it is rare and a collectors item, that is what was the driving force behind the price.
Bandit
Like seen u got it Bandit u are a green n white man seems
I would have liked to have it but its not a tractor I would spend $6800 on myself. But it was a clean low hour original tractor that is really hard to find now. I like all brands of tractors but I do have a soft spot for Oliver's especially the 50 series Oliver's. There just good rock solid tractors well built to work and comfortable to run. Bandit
Had a 1650 5 to 6 gallons of gas an hour plowing wit 4 16 go deiseal.
I have no idea what I'll buy or when all depends on price and condition ! My 1550 gas only burns about 2 1/2 to 3 gallon pulling it hard , But I dont pull it hard that often so it really dont matter to me. Its still a good tractor . Bandit
Yes they are a good tractor. More horses more food. .
I knew a guy who had a Allis D19 Gas ...........60 gallon of gas day.
Yes I can believe that an not a long day
Needless to say it didn't stay around long. He traded it in on a 190XT.
You could have asked Oliver66FarmBoy how much it's worth, oh wait he doesn't have a channel anymore :(. bit how many hours was on that 1086?
This was a tractor that everybody really didnt know what it would bring , Normally a 100 horse gas tractor wont bring that much. But beings it was all original good slean and strait with 1500 hours on it and no one had a good idea what it would bring, But we sure found out what it was worth, $6900 LOL. The 1086 had about 5200 hours on it if I remeber right, It needed a few things fixed but still a good tractor with really good rubber. I would have liked to have had ether tractor but they were out of my price range ! LOL But I can dream ! Bandit
That's steep , I'd give you 3500.00 for it
I had no idea what it would bring but I thought 4 to 5 thousand would have been about right but $6900 WOW ! I wish I had a couple just like it to sell ! Bandit
