In #Creed, the 7th film in the Rocky franchise, Adonis Johnson (Michael B. Jordan) never knew his famous father, boxing champion Apollo Creed, who died before Adonis was born. However, boxing is in his blood, so he seeks out Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) and asks the retired champ to be his trainer. Rocky sees much of Apollo in Adonis and agrees to mentor him, even as he battles an opponent deadlier than any in the ring. With Rocky's help, Adonis soon gets a title shot, but whether he has the true heart of a fighter remains to be seen.

The photo of Rocky and his son as a kid is a photo of a young Stallone and his late son Sage as a child who died during pre production of Creed. It took a lot of persuading by Coogler for Stallone to allow the photo to feature in the film. It makes the moment even more moving.
Gonna go cry now thanks
Yup I remember when he passed so sad
Oh. Wow. Thank you so much for sharing.
The one moment I regret not seeing in this reaction? When Rocky wants to stop the fight, and Adonis refuses, because he wants to "prove it".
"Prove what?"
"That I'm not a mistake."
That line wrecks me every single time.
Yeah. That was "The" line. I almost lost it in the theater, that hit so hard.
Agreed. Really wanted to see y'all's reaction to the line.
That line even gets me when I read it.
One thing I loved about this Creed is how they use real boxers and boxing shows. The guy who won his Mustang is Andre Ward one of the best fighters in the world at the time and all time, the guy he beats in his first fight is Gabe Rosado who was a good boxer, they used the real life HBO show “24/7”, the guy you guys said who looked like Edward James Olmos is probably the most famous cutman in fighting his name is “Stitch”. There’s so much more that they had.
Max Kellerman 😂
@@Electro_Patronum Facts I miss HBO boxing smhh
Tangential but my favorite part of Here Comes the Boom is when Scott geeks out when Stitch works on him during a fight.
Tony bellew??
@@seanlagunday168 Same! And the theme song would always go hard.
A legit argument can be made, that Apollo Creed is just as important as Rocky in the franchise. His character is essential in Rocky’s journey, there’s no Rocky without Creed, and I love how that concept came full circle in this film
There is no Goku without Vegeta.
@@ukiyoideas2215 Yes!!!
@@ukiyoideas2215 i mean thats how rivals push each other. Imagine Magic without bird or Cristiano ronaldo without Messi. Or 2pac without Biggie
These Rocky/Creed movies make me cry every time. There's something about seeing someone stand up against their greatest opponent, themselves. 💯
Just watched Creed 3. And I've gotta say Micheal B Jordan did an excellent job directing his first feature. Good storyline, great boxing scenes and cinematography was top notch. You can really see the love and effort he put into the third one. I will say that I love Rocky but after 3 it does falter a bit. But the Creed trilogy shows no signs of slowing down. It's great to see each director put their own stamp on it. If there is a part 4, I'm excited to see where it goes next and who will be behind the camera.
After Rocky 3????
You do relies Rocky 4 is the 🐐 of the Rocky Franchise
@@davidmead3178dude he likes creed 2 and 3 that should say it all.
And I love your love of Ryan Coogler because he’s my favorite filmmaker 😂
I agree!
I agree 💯
Ryan Coogler and Maryse Alberti really did the thing on the cinematography. This is my favorite shot boxing film. Those one shots tracking the character’s really immerse you in the scenes like you’re witnessing it in real life. Also the chemistry built between Adonis and the three most important people in his life was built beautifully.
Fun fact: The fighters that appear on the movie, with the statistics on screen and stuff, are actual fighters from Philly.
Yeah they said that they were real fighters, but guess they did forgot to mention they are from that jawn 💪
I don't think any Rocky movie is beating Rocky IV for me, but this one is pretty damn good.
Rocky was definitely in the Anger phase of grief when he told Donnie they weren't family.
Ryan Coogler is outstanding. I think my favorite of his though, would have to be his feature directoral debut in Fruitvale Station. Powerful story coupled with powerful, intimate directing. Gets me every time
This movie makes me cry every single time.
Definitely my favorite of the “Creed” films overall. Probably my second-favorite of all the movies including “Rocky”. My personal ranking:
- Rocky
- Creed
- Rocky Balboa
- Creed III
- Creed II
- Rocky II
- Rocky III
- Rocky IV: Rocky Vs. Drago (The Stallone Cut)
- Rocky IV
- Rocky V
After seeing this, it makes me sad we never got to see Valkyrie and Killmonger on screen together in the MCU. Michael and Tessa have great chemistry
😆 🤣 True
You think he tappin that?
The fight was actually filmed at Everton soccer club after a match. A friend of mine was there, it was announced what they were filming and everyone could stay and be in the film 😊
I grew up watching the Rocky movies as a kid with my dad so I’ve probably watched them all more times than I can remember! For me the two films are separate franchises just with a beautiful Rocky Balboa backstory dropped in to the Creeds to link them together. I think Creed would still be a winner without Rocky
10:24-10:40 That death stare from Adam is great. Lol
@Heroes Reforged That was Ludwig with Tessa on the stage at her first performance.
*What a great start to the franchise.*
Rocky is one of my favorite fictional characters of all time. Stallone does such a good job of both writing and portraying the character. If I could really be like Rocky the person I would be happy with that.
Finally watched Creed Friday night. Wow. I can remember watching Rocky for the first time from the back seat at the drive in at 10 yrs old back in the 70's. This gave me the same energy. So good!!
YES! So glad you are reacting to this movie, one of my favorites!! I love seeing Rocky, Adonis, and Bianca form a family.
When this first came out, this movie was known as the "man cry movie" because how emotional dudes got watching this movie.
10:20; LOL! 38:30; was on The Graham Norton Show that had the BTS footage of MBJ getting knocked out for real! So weird to hear Wood Harris referred to as the cop from Ant-Man as opposed to Avon Barksdale from The Wire!
Sly should've won the Oscar for this movie.
Oscar was a great movie.
Creed 1 & 2 are my faves too. So good. I loved Creed 3 also. So good
Creed is one of my favorite movies of all time. I love this movie and you can fell that it was made with love. The passion and care jumps off the screen.
This is my favorite sports movie of all time!!!! And it home hard for me because this movie came out only 6 months after my mom passed away from complications from cancer. She had fought it on and off for 10 years, and because she was a single mother I was her primary caretaker. The scenes of Rocky struggling from the chemotherapy were hard to watch, but the fact that it was perfectly matched with the training montage definitely uplifted me. The line of “You don’t fight, I don’t fight” still stays with me because my mom and I had the same deal. She fought for 10 years and while it was a rough fight, it was worth it.
As for the movie itself, it’s a flawless masterpiece. Ryan Coogler actually tried to make Creed his first film but Sly Stallone said he would only work with him after he did at least one film. After he made Fruitvale Station Sly was all in. And I mean this from the bottom of my heart, this is (in my opinion) the best performance of his career. He was robbed of an Oscar but thankfully he got TONS of other awards for this movie.
Just seen creed 3 twice it’s fire 🔥
seen all the Rocky movies several times, seen the first two Creed movies a couple times .. Creed III Absolutely blew me away. i LOVED it. favorite one in the series.
I like the Star Wars sequel trilogy.
I love Top Gun: Maverick.
This movie is, in my opinion, the best “passing the torch” movie of all time.
As a British football fan there is an undercurrent in this film a lot of Americans miss.
Stallone set this final fight in the city of Liverpool where the team he supports (Everton FC) are based. Tony Bellow who plays "Pretty" Ricky Conlan also supports Everton. The fight is in the Everton Stadium called Goodison Park. The entire colour scheme for that last fight is blue.
Here's the kicker:
The city is also home to Everton's far more famous rivals Liverpool FC, multiple English League and Champions League winners who wear red. But you wouldn't know they even exist if you weren't a football fan. That had me smiling a lot and cracks me up whenever I watch this again.
I like these movie reactions yall posting man, keep it up!
It's crazy to see how far the Rocky series has come!!!
There are also those with the legacy to *_not_* be like their Father.
Stallone got an Oscar nomination for Creed, but he was the *only* nomination for the movie, which kinda helped lead to the "Oscars So White" campaign.
Sly even offered to boycott the ceremony but apparently Ryan Coogler told him to go and represent the entire cast.
I remember the first time I watched this movie, I couldnt's sleep so I decided to get to watching Creed for the first time at 1am. When I say I ascended during that final fight dude. This movie was EVERYTHING
Awesome Movie and continuation within the Rocky universe (can't wair for Creed 2 reaction / Creed 3 review) and yes Max's is real and they have Amazing Cheesesteaks 👏🏽😃
Creed is such an incredible movie! Every single minute of it had meaning! I'm so glad you homies did this watchalong!
Cool podcast guys!
I could talk at nauseum about Creed, but I'll just say this:
Every time I watch Creed it feels like my life being exposed.
This movie was shot in MY neighborhood.
I pass by Bianca's apartment frequently.
I've been to Max's for a cheesesteak.
Bianca is performing at Johnny Brenda's.
I was still at Temple U when they would block off a section of the campus to shoot the movie. Casting calls alerts.
Bianca made me feel seen.
Coogler's attention to detail and intimacy is UNMATCHED!
This watch along was so great you guys! If y’all ever felt like doing a watch along of Rocky 6 that would be so absolutely wonderful 🤣 but I know y’all booked til 2025
Amazing reaction to a perfect film!
@Heroes Reforged If you guys go back and watch either the original teaser or first trailer you hear Adonis V.O. say, "A wise man once said it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward." I think originally they were going to have Rocky pass away, but then changed their minds.
Rocky's House is in Fish Town, Northside. Adrian's is supposed to be in South Philly off 8th St.
It goes in this order. R1,R4,R2,C1,R3,C2,C3, and RB. Then miles behind R5.
Love this movie! Love the reaction! Love the Rocky theme drop! Perfect, earned moment
Fruitvale station is my favorite Coogler film but damn the creed series n black panther are right there!! Shoutout to bay area legend Ryan Coogler thooo. He stay making us proud out here
I feel Augustin. We watched this one and the fights were so damn visceral in the best way. Haven't watched it since but need to.
I love this movie and it's definitely in my top 3 in the rocky franchise. Although i disagree about the old rocky movie fights not being good enough. I was hyped in this fight but i remember literally cheering with my sibling for rocky when he fought in the original movies. Maybe i have a lot of nostalgia but i loved it
Creed 3 was 🔥. Enjoy fellas.
Rocky 2 is the best for me! Yo Adrian!!!!
Hola Hermanos!! I haven't seen "CREED III" yet, but just Hector talking to Jonathan Majors about "Homeward Bound"..... did you make him cry Malo? 🤣🤣🤣
@19:53 the gloves they used in this movie are no joke, Floyd Mayweather himself uses Grant gloves, trying to get an authentic pair is not easy, the only way is to email them.
if you guys had watched Hajime no Ippo anime, you can tell that Michael B. Jordan had pull some scenes from there.
Don't bring your weird kink in here.
@donkeydarko77 Guess what? MBJ said so in his interviews with Polygon, Collier and bunch of other sites. Feeling dumb now you pedo?
@@PsychoSpiral Go hug your dakimakura.
Circling back on this one. You guys still gonna do Creed II and III?
Ludwig Göransson (known for working with Donald Glover/Childish Gambino and the Black Panther movies) did the score for this movie
Yes that restaurant you talking about asriel is too Broad and Erie 15 blocks from where I grew up at 15 Blackstone with my brother is still living great cheesesteak a good pasta
what?
40:50 🤣🤣🤣
I need creed 2 reaction lol
Micheal b Jordan played Wallace on The Wire.
20:35 Time for daily boxing vlogs 👀
I love this movie
I would say Creed 2
Rocky Balboa is the best Rocky film.
I'm inclined to agree, though I do find myself teetering between RB and R2
So many stop signs and nobody stops.
Will you guys please react to the Citadel trailer I wanna see your guys reaction pleaseeee❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Why did you guys edit out the ride into Philadelphia?
I always wished that Adonis' half-siblings would've showed up in the films.
I always called creed Rocky VII: Adrian's revenge
I love this movie, it’s one of the best in the series. But as a Philly native, my only/biggest complaint is Tessa Thompson’s “accent” and pronunciation of the word “jawn.” She sounds like someone who’s not from the area being taught the word and I’m just saying, she could’ve asked a random native for some help on set. I’m sure at least one crew worker or extra could’ve taught her. 😂
Steve princes steaks and nifty fiftys have the best cheesesteaks in philly... trust me
"Every Rocky movie, even the bad ones..." What bad ones??
It's by far not the best Rocky, cause it's not a Rocky movie...it's Creed Franchise, Now MBJ wants to be a franchise on it's own and that what it is, in that sens it's the Best Creed movie. 🤷🏽♂️
Like you show guys, keep punching 🥊
Creed 1 i love but 2 come on man how is that in your top 😂
The fights in Creed 1 are far better than anything in 2 and 3. They were more grounded in reality. The punches in 2 and 3 were cartoony and over exaggerated. They were still entertaining sequels, but nothing beats the first one.
I think its the best too
Just rewatched this movie last night. It's definitely my favorite Rocky movie. It's one of my favorite movies ever. I'm so excited for the 3rd film.
No Lil Duke is the son of Duke Apollo's trainer
Rocky 4 was silly? You mean when Apollo died and the Russsia fight?
Watchhhh CREED 2
We did. Its on Patreon whenever you're ready.
And the worse thing is is that people think this is the worst creed. I’m sorry but the order of creeds is 2,1,3
Fellas do your homework. Jordan played Wallace on The Wire. Greatest show not awarded.
Creed is one of the best movies set in the Rocky universe but I’d still put Rocky, Rocky 2 & Balboa above it
I disagree, Creed 1 is arguably the best of all the movies.
@@REDANDSILVER741 You can disagree, it's all subjective, I love creed but to me Rocky 1 & 2 are the pinnacle of the series & while i'd put Balboa above creed they're both excellent films.
@@REDANDSILVER741 nothing touches the original man. That movie is amazing.
I love yall and I Iove this movie... But nothing touches the original Rocky.
No
It’s not the best, rocky is. Better actor, better relationship, better stakes, better music, better villian
Sure, but this is better directed (and I think Stallone’s performance is better in Creed than it is in the first Rocky)
Just say you’re racist
It’s not a Rocky movie. It’s a creed movie.
Nothing compares to Rocky 1, It was original Idea.
Not even close to the best Rocky movies. The creed movies don’t stand a chance vs Rocky 1 and 2
Terrific movie , but best Rocky movie?
Respectfully disagree.
this is light spoiler question for creed 3. don’t read this if you haven’t seen it!

2:36 did Amara’s teacher say the same thing to Adonis and Bianca??? the foreshadowing!!
You aren't giving Creed Best Actor over Leo DiCaprio, Director over Iñarrittu
Yes, we are.
I will give you 3 reasons why Creed sucks.
1. I saw Black Panther, but eff Michael B. Jordan for getting into this physical condition!
2. I'm sitting here with my Wendy's chili and some kind of bacon cheeseburger, and see number 1.
3. Well more of me feeling bad for numbers 2 and 1..
Let me know when you do Creed 2 because I'll give you 3 reasons why that sucked as well!
You gave 3 pieces of evidence that you aren't smart enough to be an idiot.
Not even close to being the best Rocky movie
The worst, nonsense "Rocky movie" sounds better.
creed 3 is so bad,
badass*
