Hi-I'm still subscribed and you just popped up! It seems like you have a long list of books to get through, but I have a suggestion if you haven't read it: Vurt by Jeff Noon. It's sort of near-future/ sci-fi-cyberpunk. Don't know why but I thought of it as you were talking.
