    Our chief in Goreville Illinois would love this the only difference is he would want interior lightbars and it unmarked like it is :)

    Would have thought that Ford would have incorporated an OEM air bag disable switch, especially in their interceptor models where they knew this sort of thing would be necessary.

    I have a question, I notice that a lot of major brands, such as Whelen, Federal Signal, Code 3, etc, use almost the same patterns. Do you know who is the original founding 'father' of LED patterns that we see available on everyday products ? Did Whelen create LED patterns that other companies sign a deal to use for their products under different names ?

    • @SIRENNET
      @SIRENNET  9 лет назад

      +drunkpolice The Father of flash-patterns is the rotation speed of a revolving light, such as a Beacon. The RPM's started the whole thing and the speed's of the rotation then carried over to manufacturing a product that was different from the last. So 60 RPM's, 100 RPM', 120 RPM's. Once Strobe came in, the Patterns were again adjusted to market the products different by the different Manufacturers. Single flash gave way to dual which gave way to quad and so on. With LED's, different Manufactures create different flash patterns and sequences to separate there Lighting from others. The Quad Flash pattern offered by one Company will differ slightly from another's Quad flash.

    Why don't the hi beam head lights wig wag? I've noticed the hi beams on all the new 2015-16 police vehicles don't have the hi beam wig wags which is one lighting package I'd hate to go because it provides so much warning when responding.

    • @SIRENNET
      @SIRENNET  9 лет назад +2

      +Corey Dark The 2013-15 Ford Utilities have projector based head-lights which are not designed for flashing. The 2016 is now back to a convention hi beam and low beam that are separate from one another. The low-beam is LED and the hi-beam in the 2016 is a standard halogen which can be flashed.

    Hello!
    I will be attempting a P.A. speaker install under the hood of my decommissioned 2015 Ford PIU. Are there any firewall pass-through wires without voltage connected that can be used for the speaker feed?
    Thank you in advance!
    Jeff

      Without knowing the electrical history of the vehicle and the extent of its decommission, our recommendation is to run a fresh set of wire leads. Feel free to give us a call and we can chat with you in more detail. Our phone number is (888) 959-0911.

    How does the photocell module work, is it automatic dimming? That's so nice...

    • @SIRENNET
      @SIRENNET  9 лет назад +1

      +goigle The Photocell chip reads the ambient light and automatically puts the Light-bar into Low Power Mode.

    • @zboi778
      @zboi778 9 лет назад

      +SIRENNET How does the photocell respond to snow and ice build up? Will the lightbar be locked into the brightness it was adjusted to or will it read an error and resume max intensity?

    • @SIRENNET
      @SIRENNET  9 лет назад

      +zboi778
      The Photocell needs to see low or no light for roughly one second before it puts the Light-bar into
      low power mode. Once it senses light again it will return to regular intensity.
      In order for snow or ice to effect the photocell, we imagine that it would have to be completely covered… if you
      can see the warning lights the photocell should be able to work properly. If the Bar is heavily covered in snow and/or ice and is difficult to make out, then to Cell may not work correctly.

    What's the big difference between the 8 degree and 2 degree spotlight drop ins? 8 degree more flood and 2 degree more spot?

    2015 Explorer? Isnt it the newest one with totally different front end? Or is this one of the "last" of the previous gen?

    • @SIRENNET
      @SIRENNET  9 лет назад

      +sixstringbestfriend This is a 2015. The 2016 has the refreshed front end. You're correct... This look is the last of the 1st Gen Utility Interceptor.

      +SIRENNET Thanks for the information. As an outsider, I dont get why 2016 cars exist in 2015, or are they made by Ford in the future and delivered by time travel to departments across America?

    Is automatic dimming of the lightbar a good idea for running code at night, or can the dimming mode be disabled when the siren is in use?

    • @SIRENNET
      @SIRENNET  9 лет назад

      +Blaine Bugaski The Auto-dimming ability can be disengaged when Siren Tones are active. Also, if the Controller is keyed up to Position 3, the Auto-dim can be shut-off for maximize the over-head Bar's output.

      Sounds good, those sound like features that you would want enabled (or disabled, rather) by default.

    were the VTX609s installed in the headlight using factory light upgrade option? or did you guys drill the headlight?

    • @SIRENNET
      @SIRENNET  9 лет назад

      +twist996 The head-lights were Ordered with the gray hole-plug that's offered by Ford. With that, no holes were drilled.
