That goal at 5:41 is identical to the assist KDB got for City’s 3rd goal against Ipswich. I do agree that Pep tends to switch Haaland from Poacher to Advanced Forward in big games - has to do a bit more work to be an outlet as they might not maintain possession as well as they usually do against smaller teams/don’t have to break down blocks. Great adjustment getting KDB to mark CM to make the OOP shape right. Big City fan (as Stinger could tell you with some of my comments haha) and this is very accurate of how they’ve played - they’ve moved to a 3-1-6 shape to break down the 442 blocks they’ve been coming up against but I don’t see them staying with it whole season. Leaves them too exposed on the counter. Just wanted to say great work on the replication and to keep up the good work, you clearly put the research in to make sure it’s accurate as possible. I always look forward to watching your tactical replication videos. Been watching for a few years and the improvement in the replication of real life tactics has been outstanding, keep it up!
Yeah I agree a little people will say the out of possession is the general formation and the roles then you use for the in possession stuff however it only goes so far does the IP stuff which was proved my issues with KDB out of possession. Having said that I think the current structure is for a reason. I think have two set ups in and out of possession probably is so difficult right now to get going in the match engine and for maybe 90% of the time it works fine.
They do kind of. You just have to watch matches in 2D to determine how roles operate in possession and out of possession. For example the full back on support and inverted wing back on attack are identical out of possession but are very different in possession and change your in and out of possession tactic. The easiest roles to see this work with are the half back and Libero.

I just find it clunky to work with I would like more control of how my team looks in phases rather than fiddling around with roles and specific marking instructions.
@@lewismcdonald9691 you can probably achieve that by off setting the Cam and striker and using an AM have him press more and mark specific position to one of the centrebacks. Or I guess you can achieve it with a DLF on support who plays like a CAM in possession but out of possession will stick to your 442 formation. The way I think of it is my formation is my out of possession formation and then I use roles and player instructions to determine my in possession formation. You can make a 442 into a 4231 in possession easily this way or whatever formation you want within reason.

GUARDIOLA are most innovative manager in the world, and he still obsessed with those diamond and triangle as he did superbly with barcelona, even he looks like his obsessions was not satisfied at manchester city, every season he change and change the roles and formations
Ill just say if you have a tactic that sucks everyone to one side like this and stick a Raumdeuter on the opposite side it works a treat. Nothing to do with this tactic obviously but if anyone wants to use a Raumdeuter and you build the tactic for them to be heavy to the other side in possession they get so much space and absolutely destroy defences.
He is just a mezzala that sits even wider essentially. Have you thought about moving everyone over that way in midfield? Move Rodri over to the left one and Silva centrally? And having KDB as a Cm on support with stay wider or if he is a mezzala it might make him sit wider that side with the positional play anyway? Especially with the IWB too. Might be worth a try.

Correct me if I misunderstood, but the first version that has 2 wingers and a striker is for "big" teams that use a higher pressure line. the 2nd version which is with an IW on the left side which in this case is for Jack Grealish and has a fixed striker and for "smaller" teams which in this case use a lower defensive line. basically you can't replicate real life tactics currently on fm24. hopefully fm25 allows you to replicate
