George Harrison - Sat Singing [Rare Unreleased Track]

- In 1988 George Harrison partnered with Genesis Publications to release "Songs By George Harrison" which then was followed by a sequel ("Songs By George Harrison 2") in 1992. Both books had a limited run and both contained Harrison's lyrics along with commentary from close friends too. However the main attraction for me is the bonus E.P.'s included with both books separately. These E.P.'s featured tracks that were unavailable to the public and are (mostly) still exclusive to those books today!
The first track of the first book was the unreleased song "Sat Singing" that was initially meant for "Somewhere In England" but was rejected. The lyrics document an afternoon spent immersed in meditation, during which the singer surrenders the distractions of the physical world for a communion with his deity. The title references the Sanskrit term sat-sang, which means time spent in the company of "the highest truth", such as with one's guru. It has not seen a re-release since.
Sitting as the noonday sun
Shines high up in a clear blue sky
While warming me I drift away
No memories of the times gone by
The moment that I lose my mind
You come into my heart and say
I'm always here for you to love
Surrender to me, let me stay
[Verse 2]
Sinking deeper still inside
I feel awakened from my dreams
Resting in some golden flow
Becoming part of you it seems
Nothing separates my life
From that which we have called our goal
It's all in this external world
Results from deep within my soul
[Verse 3]
As I open up my eyes
The sky has changed into a glow
My sense of time had disappeared
I see the sun has sunken low
I feel such joy and call your name
You're everything my eyes could see
I'll gladly kiss it all goodbye
Stay ever in your company
Krásná písnička, mám moc ráda George Harrisona ♥️✌️
Absurd that this song was not allowed on the album
This is my favorite George song. It's achingly beautiful and features some of George's best guitar work.
Now this is a hidden gem.
Wish this and Lay His Head were on Spotify, they are good.
What a beautiful song . George must have a point in life where found what he was seeking and moved close to be in harmony with one . Jai shri krishna.
What a beautiful song . . . 👍
A meditation experience written to describe the divine... a genuine gem
Such a great song. I hope it gets the attention it deserves someday.
What a beautiful song!!!!... I'm surprised that it hasn't been officially released yet...
Miss you sweet George ❤️
"It's all in this external world as result from deep within my soul".
The beauty of this song leaves me speechless.
I'm so familiar with this song that I sometimes have to stop and remember it did not make it into the final release of Somewhere In England.
So beautiful,so touching,so sincere.Pure George!
Truly unreal that this, Mo, & Lay His Head are still unavailable on Itunes
How about 'Hottest Gong in Town' IDK if it's already availalble, but it's awesome.
In 1968 George got a non album B side but this couldn’t be a B side for some reason
Que bonita canción y música. Que gran compositor y cantante era George. Si nunca hubiera sido un beatle, como solista nos hubiera dejado más maravillosos temas.
thanks for showing us the esoteric gem
I see the sun has sunken low
I feel such joy and call your name
You're everything my eyes could see
george is telling us again taht he's made sustained contact with angelGod on dimension 4d aka guardian Angel

Beautiful song
Lovely.
Song from 1980 lost recording from the 1981 album sometime in England
I like that you posted it as if it was part of the official bonus tracks of the album :)
Excelente song
Inexplicable oblivion.
It's definitely among my TOP10 favourite songs by George.
But which was the other songs contained in the EP?
There were two EP's that were included with lyric books from the early 90's and are all featured on this playlist! ruclips.net/p/PLW4Gibbqo4Gd9sCyDhjb0dW26_0mRCbu6
