I have 3 artist done authentic reborns, tons of vintage Barbies that I restored, Madame Alexander dolls from when I was a kid, you name it. The one thing I like to do with the replicas I have is improve them, like you did with Esme. It's fun for me. I am glad you kicked her out of the FB group. We all feel safe in that group. There are a lot of people who take themselves way too seriously out there.
I have bipolar 2 and that is no excuse to be mean. I choose to be medicated. You do have ups and downs with bipolar but you still know what you are doing and I don’t think putting a name on it like Bipolar is any excuse for her behavior. I sincerely believe that this hobby is our own at home, we buy these babies with our own money, no one buys them for us, we have families, we have bills, we each do our best with what we have. No one has the right to tell another person what they are allowed to buy with their own money, No One. I switched to authentic a few months back but I still have friends and will continue to have friends with all kinds of dollies depending on what they love and/or their budget. I am friends with people based on how they treat other people and their heart and personality, not what they can afford, or what they own. Yes, of course we find each other because of the hobby, we share, we send each other friend mail, but the decision belongs to the person who is collecting their dolls, and teddy bears, and charlie bears, and whatnot, I don't care. Just be nice to me and I will be very nice to you. I've got mental health issues (not bipolor or bpd)...Untreated (severe) mental health issues are never 'good', not for the person suffering from the mental conditions and not for the people around them. Me, myself and I (Dx'd w/Dissociative Identity Disorder hence the DID in our name) were a Wrecking Ball to everyone around us until we underwent treatment. Even at our Worst we would not have done/said something like that! Something a therapist said to us once, "Crazy will never make sense and you can drive yourself crazy trying to make sense of it." Another therapist shared "DID is a perfectly Sane response to a perfectly Insane situation." All this to say , I don't know if this person said what she did due to mental health, and it's ugly and not right that she said what she did no matter the reason. I also think its not right that bad behavior is often assumed to be the result of mental health (speaking from a place of advocacy for DID, that we are Not all psychos and murderers like Hollywood would like you to believe, nor are we all into cosplay and advertise our mental health for clout). I LOVE my dolls (all of my others do), we have replicas and artist rendered. We understand WHY you are thinking maybe she has some mental health thing going on, but you are saying it in a loving way, NOT a malicious way which we Super appreciate! I was a true crime junkie viewer for a long time and now, not so much since I found all you wonderful dolly content creators. Brings a lot of peace and beauty into my life. There is definitely a channel, two or three that have rubbed me the wrong way because they became a little condescending or their channel was more about them than their doll hobby.
