Fingers crossed new kids are on the way. I bet they are. Like they say, three times a charm. That sled sure has come in handy. I love Olivia's new bracelet maker. That one is so neat and sure helps to make them easier. That was so kind of a subscriber to send her.
Al, good luck with Willow. Exciting to have spring babies! We managed not to lose power here. I would like to have a deep well hand pump, as our artesian well is 200' deep.I only put together the occasional sustainable workshop locally. My next one is at our town academy this spring for the students. Did you know that in 1935, the percentage of working farm families was 40%? A 2015 report came up with 2% today at best, with the average farm owner at 57. Keep showing folks how to grow food and raise small farm animals! You are doing a wonderful service, by sharing your back to the land journey.
No ketchup, but LOVE Tabasco! Fingers crossed that Willow's date went well! Can't wait to see those babies running and jumping around the homestead. **EXCITED**
What a productive day- from taking Willow on "a date", to preparing for a power outage, to having fun in the snow with Libby. A really good day. I think Pluto stays so warm even though she is "naked" now because she is so FULL of energy. I bet she and Figaro snuggle up in front of the wood burning stove while you work on videos?
Olivia you are the cutest and most polite, well mannered and last but not least QUEEN OF THE MOUNTAIN 👑. I really hope you all have little baby 🐐 this May. Have fun in the snow ❄️❄️❄️ XOXOXOXO
We raised chickens when I was a kid, I'm much older now. But my dad always had a single light bulb on a timer hanging from the ceiling in the coupe and we had eggs all year. I thought maybe you could get a solar light and do the same. Wouldn't have to be an expensive one, as a cheaper one would only run a couple hours after dark, which about all you'd need. Love your videos, sorry I more of a lurker then a commenter. But I grew up on a farm, and if I see something I think will help, I usually comment.
It worked for us last year, but one big thing is to make sure it comes on early, and doesn't stay on after dusk; It's easier on the chickens for the light to turn on abruptly in the mornings, but turning off abruptly can leave your chickens out of their nest boxes in pitch black.
Wow, Al! Your goats always appear to be very well-behaved! How did you ever manage to make that happen? I remember that goats, often times, were quite mischievous critters on my grandparents' Rocky Mountain cattle ranch! I'm sure they would have loved hearing your secrets to raising goats...and, why you want more of them!
Good to know--about the different breeds. I'm sure that many viewers are equally impressed by your goats; and, they're so good looking as well! Good luck having some kids this spring! : )
Sometimes I put salsa on my scrambled egg for a change. Once I had left over stewed tomatoes that I put in them and my hubby said ew until he tried it. Most of the time it's just salt and pepper. Love that bracelet kit. What an awesome gift.
Really enjoy seeing your *Productive Day* on the land with family... My Grandma use to say to us kids.. *"Making proper Decisions ensures good comfortable Long term survival."* Cheers 😍👍
Like i said before .. I've had our oldest jet sled 8yrs and I'm not gentle... Firewood, manure, and not only when there is snow. In fall & spring I use our lawn tractor to haul manure in it. No snow. The bottom takes a whooping but for $50 stretched over 8yrs I say its well spent.
al cut a piece of pvc to make a handle for your sled, i been watching you pull that thing around just by grabbing the rope i,m sure pullin the firewood is quite heavy, ms olivia would like it as well for easy pulling hope that helps your fingers
I Definitely use Ketchup on breakfast potatoes of any kind, eggs, sausage, etc, while hubby wants to “taste” his food. So glad y’all hit 50,000 subbies! Congrats! We love watching your channel daily, you have become a part of our family. Again, Blessings & CONGRATULATIONS!🎈🎊🎉
Are we not blessed to have weather forecasts to help prepare in advance for possible problems. I loved when you were talking to Willow about her date and the comment “I don’t want to talk about it” made me chuckle. 🙈 Congratulations on reaching 50K. Well deserved.💥⚡️💥
You should get a weight lifting belt, attach a carabiner to the back and you can pull the sled from your waist instead of dragging from one side. Might help if you get backaches.
Hi. AL nice to see your goat is so healthy, thank you for sharing your video homestead chicken farmer garden 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 👨👩👧👸👕👓🐩🐔🐓🐥🐕🐖🐈🐐🌱🏡🎥👍👍👍
Sorry Al, but I'm with the girls. I like ketchup on my scrambled eggs and home fries. We could tell when our cow was in heat, usually she was difficult when milking her. Once when she was in heat I made the mistake while taking her to the neighbors farm, I got between her and the bull pen. The neighbor laughed once he knew I was alright.
the concrete won't wear out your sledge like dragging it across your well plowed driveway. they used to shovel snow ONTO covered bridges to help preserve the sled runners. try leaving a path un-shoveled for the sled. that gravel WILL indeed gouge a big 'ol hole in your sled within 2 seasons. ( did)
No ketchup on eggs, but I love ketchup on potatoes. You have a great set up. And hopefully next year you will have a lot of kids. Have a Wonderful Day. Thanks for sharing.
My friends father had a heart attack and we were so close and I didn’t want her driving so another friend Sally and I drove her to her father in Keene New Hampshire. That’s as far into New Hampshire I’ve been but it was a step back in time for me Al more quaint than my Southern New England Groton and Mystic, Ct., I love it all though. Figaro is so smart everywhere and checking everything out. Olivia is adorable and energetic and smart. Have a great evening.
I hope Willow took for you all. You are really getting your moneys worth out of that sled. If you are worried about the sled bottom when you bring it into the house, an inexpensive rug runner would help. We got a lot of rain two days ago (here in MO) and a lot of wind. No more snow ....yet.
Ketchup with potatoes is a must. Maybe this winter try sprouting some alfalfa or barley for the chickens? My grandparents had a farm and we always saved eggshells, baked them at about 250 until they were good and dry then crushed them and added them to some river sand and spread it in the inside coop in winter. The rest of the year they were free-range and got all the grit they needed from foraging, but we still gave them the crushed eggshells for extra calcium. You have to crush them though, or the chickens learn to peck and eat their own eggs. If you have dirty eggs that means the chickens should be de-wormed. Maybe add some DE to their feed.
It was 61F here yesterday! Today 39F and rain and freezing rain yuk! Hope you get that warm front up your way too :) No ketchup! lol wait I do add a lil to home fries once in awhile
Just ordered to lanterns and after watching the story about how they are made ie fair trade, locally in improvished south africa im going back to order several more as christmas presents. Love this!
My dad and my sons loved ketchup. My oldest son would even put it in a bowl and eat it with nothing else. Weather wise our lows the last couple of nights have been the 70s. But forecast says winter is coming back again in a couple of days and we will see 40s again
Dad that is creepy some package comes to the door with out knowing who it is from or why they are sending it . you are a nice guy on cam and some people will take advantage of that . please be careful and show people you can be a aggressive protector and and a out out corn hole if you need to be . When it comes time to be . love the channel hope you good luck and fur babies in may .
yes I seen Figaro! KETCHUP! ON POTATOES! oR FRESH GARDEN TOMATOES! And if this weather keeps up, your going to wear out that sled before the season is over! I had my grandson over yesterday to hang Christmas lights outside it was 66 degrees and sunshine here in the Hocking hills of Ohio and today it is 40 and rain! So hopefully you will get a warm up there soon. But enjoy it while you can it doesn't last long!
There were plenty of horse drawn carriages and wagons in the Littleton area well into the 1920s and 30s. The State of New Hampshire was still using a team and wagon for some road work in the 1930s. Many of the locals could not afford cars either. My father was born in 1928 and would ride in the wagon with his father from Twin Mountain/Carroll to Whitefield to the old grain mill to load up on feed for the teams they used to pull road graders and such. Catsup on breakfast potatoes and Chipotle Tobasco sauce on the eggs. Al, You gotta try the Chipotle Tobasco. You'll love it. The girls probably will, too. That polyethylene sled should be very scuff resistant.
@@LumnahAcres The grain mill is on the south side of the town square on the north side of Jon's River (My 7th great uncle was Jon). I think the grain mill has been restored into an art studio or such. When my grandfather passed away in Littleton in '92, my father had the hearse make a loop around the Whitefield town square that was such a part of my grandfather's and father's weekly routine then head on down Rt 3 to the family cemetery (Straw) near Carroll. My father tells of a time in the early 30's when they were heading to the mill for feed. They came across a big fancy car of wealthy New Yorkers that slid off the road and was stuck in the mud. My grandfather unhitched the wagon from the team and hitched the team to the front of the car. He stood on the rigging and got the team pulling. The car came unstuck with a lurch that threw my grandfather to the ground. The car drove right over him because it had big tall tires. He was unharmed. Now, the New Yorkers were being pulled down the road by a spooked team of draft horses with nobody at the reins. Those crazy New Yorkers. Have you met any old, old timers who remember those days in Littleton, Whitefield, Carroll and Lancaster? My dad would have been 90 this year so some of his generation should still be alive. There were a lot of hard working people scratching out a living in that area.
Honestly you did not go overboard on protecting her from the cold wind. I've seen many goats, pigs etc die from not being protected during transport from the cold wind. Great job
Al takes such good care of his animals.
Leo : Olivia is a very smart and well behaved little lady ! Its definitely due to her parents being good people ! Great job !
Aweee 😍 Livvy skipping in the snow w.out a care in the world. So precious!
I love those goats they are so funny but so are Pluto and Figaro and all the chickens. Just enjoy your video so much.
Thanks, Al! I love the care you took to protect Willow during your drive.
What fun memories you are making with Livvie! Happy Monday.
Your an awesome dad Al olivia and Gina are very lucky to have such a great man
I love how much you care for your animals. Wish everyone was like that 💕💕
Ketchup for sure! Great gift Olivia! Thank you Viewer! Good luck on the breeding
Fingers crossed new kids are on the way. I bet they are. Like they say, three times a charm. That sled sure has come in handy. I love Olivia's new bracelet maker. That one is so neat and sure helps to make them easier. That was so kind of a subscriber to send her.
What fun watching Olivia find slide in her winter wonderland.
Have a good day all!!
So cute, when you ask the goat if the watered was a win, she nodded yes
6:41 directly to the right of the truck
I'm pretty sure Willow is pregnant. It warms my soul to see you play with Olivia. :) Another wonderful day on the farm. :) Thanks for sharing!
Very thoughtful the way you care for your animals
God bless

I enjoy your little segments of where's Figaro.

I don't know how you managed without that new sled! ❤🌅🌵
Great job. Al. it is good to see you and your daughter playing in the snow.
I’m so happy you guys are using proudly South African lamps. They work really well and I love mine.
Regards Quentin ( South Africa )
Olivia you are the cutest and most polite, well mannered and last but not least QUEEN OF THE MOUNTAIN 👑. I really hope you all have little baby 🐐 this May. Have fun in the snow ❄️❄️❄️ XOXOXOXO
Thanks for taking us on your drive through town... It was so picturesque... Scenery I remember from postcards... So different from sunny 🌞 Arizona 🌵!

Love that think sound when you’re stacking well seasoned wood.
Just saw you are over 50k subscribers! Congratulations!!
Bless you Lumnah family!!! No ketchup for me but I say, to each his/her own!!!! So enjoy your videos Al, thanks for sharing 💕
It’s so fun to see Olivia play. My girls are hoping for some snow soon. Maybe we should move further north? Lol
Sometimes I put salsa on my scrambled egg for a change. Once I had left over stewed tomatoes that I put in them and my hubby said ew until he tried it. Most of the time it's just salt and pepper. Love that bracelet kit. What an awesome gift.
Pluto!! All legs and pure joy!
good day to you Al, Gina & Olivia !! thanks for sharing another awesome update and adventures on & off the homestead !! 👨🌾🎥👍✝
Really enjoy seeing your *Productive Day* on the land with family...

We have a black sled like that. Love it use it almost every day
The Mighty Girl Olivia, Queen of snow mountain!
I know that you are excited about the goat water not freezing, but don't forget to change it to keep the microbials down. 💜🌞🌵
Ketchup with eggs n potatoes yummmmm. I’m with the girls. Great videos.
Hey Cheif thats your sled you drag it anywhere you want ! Lol !
Great video. Thank you for sharing.
I'm with Olivia and Gina, I am a Ketchup-a-holic.. love it!
WaHoo! I got to go for a sled ride (14:45) today! Yipee! ❤🌅🌵
Tighten the ratchet straps on your storage shelter to keep the roof taught so the snow slides off better.
Olivia your not just queen of the mountain your the Queen of this country LOL we love you
I say catsup too !
Bracelet-maker ---- how fun !!!
You can easily re-glass and gel coat the bottom of the sled. I would be interested to see what the bottom of it looks like at the end of the season.
Are we not blessed to have weather forecasts to help prepare in advance for possible problems. I loved when you were talking to Willow about her date and the comment “I don’t want to talk about it” made me chuckle. 🙈
Congratulations on reaching 50K. Well deserved.💥⚡️💥
We truly are blessed!
Yes Olivia is right.
Love those lamps! Will look into. Thanks! Hope you will have a kid come May - exciting!
You should get a weight lifting belt, attach a carabiner to the back and you can pull the sled from your waist instead of dragging from one side. Might help if you get backaches.
No ketsup!!
You should get Pluto a harness for pulling and she could do the light pulling for you.
Ketchup is a must on breakfast! Especially, biscuits and sausage gravy.😋
Hi. AL nice to see your goat is so healthy, thank you for sharing your video homestead chicken farmer garden 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 👨👩👧👸👕👓🐩🐔🐓🐥🐕🐖🐈🐐🌱🏡🎥👍👍👍
I love your videos, I only have three hens, but some days I’m pretty busy doing chores on a mini scale and I love it 😄👏👏👍
Sorry Al, but I'm with the girls. I like ketchup on my scrambled eggs and home fries. We could tell when our cow was in heat, usually she was difficult when milking her. Ketchup
As an optional flavouring. Mostly on fried potatoes and meat.
As long as the cooking is tasted first without it.
Green salsa
You should manufacture and selll those insulated water buckets!
the concrete won't wear out your sledge like dragging it across your well plowed driveway. they used to shovel snow ONTO covered bridges to help preserve the sled runners. try leaving a path un-shoveled for the sled. that gravel WILL indeed gouge a big 'ol hole in your sled within 2 seasons. ( did)
I was up in Jackson over the weekend. We got a bit of snow.
Notice they used to have the barns close to the road for easy access.
Now it's a wait and see thing. She moved to the other farm well and that is a good thing. Now you get into animal husbandry. Keep good records.
No ketchup on eggs, but I love ketchup on potatoes. You have a great set up. And hopefully next year you will have a lot of kids. Have a Wonderful Day. Thanks for sharing.
I love the bracelet 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍
Very enjoyable, thanks

Get a furniture dolly to put in front of door to slide the sled up onto and pull that inside, might work.
You guys are funny! It's wonderful.😄 Have s great day!😃👍🌤🌞⛄
That sled has more than paid for itself. Also my hubby likes both ketchup and hot sauce. I like it without. Love your videos.
You guys get the icy rain and we just had a little earthquake 5 mins north of us. 🤷♀️at least we got a bit of sun today!
Ketchup with potatoes is a must.

Moo-arvelous!!!! 50K subs!!! You could always paint the bottom and sides of the sled with truck bed liner.
It was 61F here yesterday! Today 39F and rain and freezing rain yuk! Hope you get that warm front up your way too :) No ketchup! lol wait I do add a lil to home fries once in awhile
Again I say, what a great fur baby daddy 😊❤ Ketchup on my breakfast eggs and hash browns, thank you :)
Just ordered to lanterns and after watching the story about how they are made ie fair trade, locally in improvished south africa im going back to order several more as christmas presents. Love this!
We use to bring home calves in the inside of the truck.
Absolutely Ketchup Livvy!!!
Thank you for the info on the mason jar lights =)
I can’t wait for a baby goat!
To each it's own!
Yes on the ketchup!!!Olivia👍🏻

That's what I was thinking
Snow play! Fun!
Yes Ketchup!
attach some metal runners to the bottom of the sled?

145 days for minis 150 for the big girls. We draw blood at 30 days to confirm. we have a lab in town and get results in 2 hrs.

Soooo many Ketchups! I would have never guessed. I'm with you Al. Too much salt in Ketchup anyways.
Great video
