Like Rocky said "You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit. Its about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!" 😁 You have shown us that you will keep moving forward no matter how hard life hits you. That is VERY inspiring!!! 👍💪
I had a rough set last Monday but the next morning session I had I turned it round and I’d say it was one of the best sessions I’ve had in a while. Sometimes it helps to have an off practice cos you come back willing to work even harder
DUDE, this vlog was killer. It helps seeing someone so successful deal with an off day. It gives me motivation to get through the hard times and realize that the attitude can change everything. Keep rocking it my guy.
Hey Cody, I wanted to let you know, ur a great source of inspiration and motivation for me! Currently i'm 23 years old, I started swimming again (after 8 years off) in October 2017 and that was probably one of the best decisions in my life. I fking love it :D
You say fail, I say life. I actually thank you for this video. My son has been a competitive swimmer since the 6th grade, but didn't get serious until freshman year. He is now a sophomore, so I've seen the ugly side, the I'm not happy side of swimming. Almost all your vlogs are of a very happy person, which is uplifting, but we are all human, we have our bad days, bad weeks, etc. This makes you more human, lol, as opposed to the swimming freak you are. Your vlogs are UBER informative, we enjoy them.
As an older Master's swimmer I have become an avid fan of you Vlogs. I'm in transition from pool season to open water, had a string of great practices building yardage and endurance, followed by a painful, slow uninspired swim this morning. I appreciate the candor. Even the superhuman are human. Thanks Cody, for all the swimmers out there it's important to see the struggle as well.
Probably my favourite vlog yet, I often feel like this myself, especially with trying to fit everything in around work, plus with being an open water swimmer long winters stuck in the pool get to me
Probably one of your best videos. Not that I don’t appreciate your efforts to be positive and energetic all the time, but no one can sustain that all the time. This seemed like you at your most genuine, honest, and vulnerable best. It was real. And I appreciate seeing you work thru practice, including some of your struggles.
Dear Cody, in fact this is one of your best Vlogs, because for it showed you so much more human, with frailties. We assume the Olympians to be these strong characters, like say super-heroes that are not affected by victories or defeats. But today, it was interesting to see that even at your stage, after you have put on so much work and years, you too are susceptible to self-doubt, it was nice. My two young sons who are starting their life in swimming and watch your videos were amazed to know that you too go through these feelings, just like they do. I like the fact that while you showcase victories, you also emphasise on the fact that overcoming fears and disasters is equally important. Even an Olympian can fail. That is so humanly beautiful..
This is one of the best vlogs yet! It shows that everyone even olympians sometimes have bad days like I do. I really think that this vlog will help my swimming. Thank you Cody!!!
OMG great video. I’m in the car going to my workout and I’ve not been swimming too well for a few days and this really helped me. Thanks so much Cody. ❤️
Very valuable video, I think we often learn / grow more from failures than we do from victories, and its easy for me to view bad workouts as failures. Glad you continued the Vlog, it is important to see all sides, not just when things are going great.
I was wondering when I get to see you swim in Royer Pool. But I appreciate this vlog, regardless of how "unpolished" you think it is. Love that you keep it real!
From the way you edit your videos and the effort you put into them, to the message you send to us and the effort you put into your work, everything inpires me and makes me want to work harder for what I want and what I like. Thank you for doing these videos!
Thanks for this video, it's really good to see that these moments happen to Olympians as well. Sometimes I feel awful during practice if I've had a bad day at work, and then beat myself up for not having the right attitude, but you're so right that we should remember all the hard work we've done and that eventually it will pay. Always keeping a positive and hungry attitude is key for swimmers.
Best vlog of all! this happens to ALL SWIMMERS elite and amateurs, but not everyone has the guts to show it. Thank you for the tips on how to face a down mindset at sessions. Best wishes!
Thank you for keeping it really. even Olympic swimmers have their bad days we are all human. as long as we keep on pushing little by little. Keep up the good work. possitive vibes from Chicago.
That was such a great vlog, you gotta know how important it is to show the real struggle, how it affects everyone and how to overcome it. Thanks! so good :)
Thanks. In my life I have learned more from my mistakes than my successes. So, for me, this was a great video. EVERYONE has off days. Push thru and set the next goal (or achieve the next goal). Thanks for the highs AND lows.
spent.a lot of good hours in that pool. he's right, Royer is like a crazy hospital and easy to get lost. my dorm (Collns) was right across the street. after working out I'd walk back my room and by the time I got there my hair would be a frozen mop of icicles. good times!
That was probably more one of my favorite vlogs. Why were you swimming in that pool? I really liked learning about that pool and seeing you struggle to make it a good work out. I liked watching it to see yeah we all have moments like that
About the underwater filming - you're wrong, Yale was the first to do it. They had it done in the late '40s at the Kiphuth Exhibition Pool. Check it out
i did get something out of this video thank you. you just opened my eyes and made me realize that its ok to not have a great practice every single practice and not being in the right mind set is a normal thing so thank you.
You came to me in a dream last night. I came into the changing rooms after swimming in a lane next to elite swimmers (swimming dreams are the best) and you were in the changing rooms! My psyche must pick up friendly energy from you. Many thanks!
Are you implying IU has produced "HUNDREDS" of Olympians!? Who knew, lol I think you meant to say Olympic teams trainec there back in the day? 😉 Did you ever see Perkins Natatorium @ SMU before it was razed? Made me think of it when talking about historic pools.
That's the size of pool I practice in everyday, and yes couple days ago just not in good mood, but still went through motions, mostly other days are better,,, right now I'm discouraged cause trying to hit my turn from backstroke to breaststroke , I'm just so use to flipping,,,,, but I'm getting it slowly rrrrrr😱
Honestly Cody miller changed the way I viewed swimming and made me fall in love with the sport even more.
I very much agree. This video is even inspiring because it encourages me to push through the hard days and keep my eye on the bigger picture.
Same
Same here
Me too, I have loved swimming for years, but Cody made me love it even more
Like Rocky said "You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit. Its about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. This is probably one of the most influential vlog you've made!! Love them!!
The music and camera quality was great
OMG great video. I’m in the car going to my workout and I’ve not been swimming too well for a few days and this really helped me. Thanks so much Cody. ❤️

I loved how you started playing music when you dove in! That was such a cool way to do it!

I think this is my favorite vlog of yours. The story flows in a genius way. This is masterpiece motivation.

I think it would be cool if you started doing a "quote of the day" and let that be the lesson you teach for each vlog

Im so glad i got to meet Cody Miller at my sandpiper practice !!!!
Swimming is by far the best sport
tru
Naw cycling you can see more of the world while doing it
Luke sure but the only thing you do is move your legs... There's almost no technique involved its just endurance
It’s the hardest sport
Swimming is by far the most painful sport

What is your favorite TYR cap to race in? The wallbreaker or the competitor?
Small tiles all over that old pool. They just don't make 'em like that anymore. Beautiful pool to house a majestic sport!
Mistake in your description it says Vlog 34. But great video Cody!
KEEP THE VISION
Great video, great lesson :)

Made me think of it when talking about historic pools.
Hey I am an 8th grade swimmer, I am not from the us, what are the best Times for an 8th grader in the Us?
If swimming was a class i would get an F .............in the chat for how slow i am 😂
Looks like the Blatt in Columbia South Carolina
When are you mailing out the items from posh mark?
Next week. Sorry I’m out of town right now
That casey neistat recording style tho xD

Why did you use that title
Dude, maybe you should finally allow your body to recover? Your training volumes are insane. And you are a 100 swimmer.
Whats your stroke?
There's such thing as breaks in swimming? Where? 🤔🤔
Why breaks? Just some more recovery between sessions.

Vlog 34 for intro, vlog 35 for description?
April 11 ---my birthday. I was born a year before that pool.
What’s ur fav color
Nice!
The pool I swam in was opened in 1886. Long gone now.
I like seeing my alma mater , btown is so pretty.
I wish someone had said this to me when I was a swimmer. Maybe I wouldn’t have stopped
Hey Cody!!
What happened to Lilly king in this vlog
❤
I’m having horrible training, feels bad man.
i’ve been working on my under waters and i beat 2 people in a race that are faster than me, i guess that means i’m faster now lol
this vloger looks like the tarzan , jungle man
Everyone has those practices, you're not the only one that has bad practices every one in a while.
Like when you also film failure
One does not have to always be positive
I swim in that pool every night!!!I am on the CCIST
Thuradays? haha
Whoop. First for once
Wow you’re not perfect?
