I can't believe you have only been on RUclips for 4 months. I am so glad I discovered you! A Sophie shawl/scarf with your beautiful yarns held together would be perfect. If you do make your wedding dress, please post a picture.
i watched your thesis video. it's very good! wild that we expect kids to spend so much cash learning a profession they have no way of knowing if they'll like doing 40 hours / week for life. the apprenticeship system needs to come back. your journey reminds me a bit of Rajiv Surendra. he's into the domestic arts and craftsmanship, lots of different interests / hobbies. only recently it seems he's been able to cobble together a real living through his interests.
Thank you for watching!! It's nuts we expect kids to know what they want to do at like 17/18 I 100% agree on the apprenticeship system. I LOVE Rajiv's channel I certainly relate to his jack of all trades mentality 💚
The Clockwork Shawl by Stephen West would be pretty in the yarn. Your spinning is beautiful. I’m so happy I found your channel, your enthusiasm is contagious.
A pattern came to mind immediately when I saw those two yarns- the Geranium Hat by Sartorial Knitting on Ravelry which uses a lace+sport yarn held together, one being a colourful yarn and the other a solid (there is also a third yarn used which would have to be more contrasting for the slip stitch pattern to show). Loved getting to know you!! Being able to have chosen what high school you went to is blowing my mind rn. Your whole life seems to have been dedicated to different creative endeavours which sounds so amazing
My youngest daughter commented that you are VERY "professional" for someone who has only been making videos for four months!😂 Love the video. I would definitely make some mitts or a shawlette with your beautiful handspun! And I love cattail silk too- perfect summer knitting yarn!
Thanks for sharing, it's always fun to hear a bit more about podcasters backgrounds! I'd probably make a light tank top with either some colourwork at the bottom or using the handspun for accents on the hem/sleeves/neckline
Congratulations on the growth of your channel and love hearing your winding artistic journey. For the yarn I would make a shawl. One like a traveler shawl so I could use both colors. Socks are more what I have been knitting latey so perhaps with a little of your hand spun i would use a bit of it for some accent parts to the cuff or leg. ❤
Your home always looks so cozy and your videos always inspire me to work on perfecting my own crafting space-thank you! I’ve been inspired by Em to the Third and I think I’d make a Musselburgh hat and maybe a summery little bandana-type shawl or maybe find a fun shawl pattern with some lace!
I’m so glad you did a Q and A! I’ve been so curious about how you got into fiber arts. I’d love to knit a wrap t-shirt. It would be perfect for continuing my year of crafting for me.
This Q&A was so much fun! Loved hearing about your background in visual arts. The wire wrapping looked so cool! I checked out your college thesis. The TV and skateboarding visuals were so cool! I would make the 504 King West by The Knit Cafe Toronto. Or crochet the Spring Simplicity Shawl by Deanne Shoyer.
I would love to make the mesh pullover by James n watt with that hand spun yarn 🥺🥺 I live in the uk so, I’m not sure I’ll count for the contest but that yarn is gorgeous! 🥰
It must be my birthday Christmas because I woke up and saw new videos from like 6 of my favorite fiber channels 🥰 thank you all for keeping me company during many a peaceful crafting hour!
Hey Escarla, thanks for the Q&A.I'm fascinated by (and a tad jealous of) your HS experience, haha. If you do another Q&A, I'd love to hear more about your videography experience and the gear that you use such as your camera setup, editing equipment, etc. Your videos really stand out in this space and I love your style. BTW, I found you via Taylor E Owen's channel! If I win the giveaway, I'd pair the yarns in a Rai Rai Sweater by Leeni Hoi or feature that gorgeous handspun yarn in a Jude Sweater by Lucia Ruiz de Aguirre.
I really want to get my hands on handspun yarn like the first skein you showed because its so pretty in a skein but I don't know what it would look like knitted in a garment. I'm at the point in my knitting journey where I'm giving myself permission to buy yarn if I've never worked with it before so I can figure out if I like working with it. Also your channel and others has really inspired me to get into spinning so that I can make yarn like that. I'd probably incorporate it a cardigan because I've never steeked before. I've also never worked with pure silk so I'd be interested in making something too. Like one of those turtleneck bibs people wear under their jackets. I'm pretty sensitive to wool and alpaca so silk seems perfect for next to skin garments.
My toughts about the yarns: the colourful handspun would make a lovely soft mini-scarf. And then the 100% silk skein.. I immediately thought of another mini-scarf, but a light one for summer. And my third thought was just to hold them together, because merino silk is a very nice mix. I love your videos and your appearance!
Thank you for sharing. I found your channel when scoured your wool and enjoyed the process. I think if I won the handspun I would make the press flower hat. Thanks for sharing and look forward to watching many more.
I can’t seem to spin fine enough for fingering weight yarn ( I’m still learning!), so I would definitely make socks out of it. Hand spun socks are a dream project!
Hi Escarla! I’m so happy I found your channel. I’m a new knitter and love watching your videos. You’re so relaxing t watch and have great vibes 🙌🏻. I would love to make my mama a beautiful shawl for her birthday. Love from Texas ❤
I’m so happy to have found your channel ❤ you are a bright beam of energy in my day!! I’d love to make a summer ranunculus with the silk and a little toque for my 1yo daughter ❤
Love your videos, thank you for the giveaway. For the handspun yarn I'd use it I think in the yoke of a colorwork sweater. For the silk, I'd use it with another yarn for a tank top
Loving your videos, no matter the content. I multicraftual as well, so i can relate to the Renaissance Woman vibe. Your handspun is beautiful. I think I'd make a cowl or scarf with them if i were lucky enough to win.
Yay for the growing channel! It was fun hearing about your artistic journey. 💖I'm in Finland so I might not be in the giveaway, but I've been wanting to make my first shawl and would use your beautiful handspun for that =^^=
Wow I haven’t used fancy yarn hand spun yet im excited !! I haven’t went to a knitting or yarn shop yet I’m excited to do that soon too :) u are so right this is a whole new world I would make a hat because so far that’s my fav thing I make n do well with. I’m still a beginner started in sept of last year
I enjoy your channel and thank you for your hard work, I think you pick very pretty colors, and that is what drew me to your channel. I would make a hat, Berte style.
Hi, Thank you so much for sharing your story with us. I am in the UK, so not sure if I'm eligible for the giveaway ( I know it's expensive to ship abroad, so I totally understand if not). However, I would love to knit a shawl, especially with your beautiful handspun. So that it would always be on show xx
Okay hair slay! Miss the curls but it’s so fun to switch up and do something different. What yarn did you use for your No Sweat Shirt? I might have to give this pattern a try.
Hehe I literally straighten it once a year to do a good split ends cut but I prefer the curls. I regret cutting bangs cause it’s gonna shrink in curl form 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ the yarn I used was Noro Mirai but it’s now discontinued ☹️
@@escarla oh shrinkage. Always playing us out lol. I think some kind of noro sweater is in my future. When I’ve touched different lines in person it’s felt a bit too rustic for me but I’ve heard that they soften over time and I have yet to see a skein that I didn’t like the look of worked up.
I didn't realize you have only been on YT for 4 months! I have enjoyed all of your videos and am so glad to have found your channel :)

Been loving your cozy content. Congrats on growing your channel! I would make a shawl!
Ooooh definitely a drapey shawl❤❤❤
That handspun is EVERYTHING!! Wow. I would love to use those yarns to make the Half Moon Oracle by Kristin Lehrer 😍
Given the yardage, I'd make a very fancy shawl!
I’ve never used hand spun before but my go to project are cowls. ❤❤❤❤
I would make a shawl so that people can see those beautiful skeins.
I think those yarns would make a beautiful shawl!
I would make a little blankie for my dog sassy-girl. Love you! 🥰
Enjoyed this episode. I can see the handspun becoming really beautiful socks!

what a lovely video ❤ I would make a light and airy shawl with those yarns, they look like they would be beautiful in a lace pattern!
I would knit my first shawl 😊
Loved hearing about your background, I would make a lacy crescent shawl.
Love your videos. I would knit up a shawl and whatever is left, I would use it for socks.
Congratulations Escarla!! I would make a summer tank top with color work :)
I really love all your videos ……the yarn is beautiful and my favorite colors. I would knit a hat so I can show off the lovely colors. ❤
Love your channel and vibe. I would make a cowl or shawl 😊❤

Thanks for answering my questions! 😀I (somewhat) followed your advice and got some local to me Brogna fibre and I'm so excited to try spinning it!
Of course 💖 I’m so excited for your spinning journey!!
Love your videos, thank you for the giveaway. For the handspun yarn I'd use it I think in the yoke of a colorwork sweater. For the silk, I'd use it with another yarn for a tank top
I would like to make a small shawl or scarf maybe a sophie scarf
Loving your videos, no matter the content. I multicraftual as well, so i can relate to the Renaissance Woman vibe. Your handspun is beautiful. I think I'd make a cowl or scarf with them if i were lucky enough to win.
