Finally, someone talked about sound listening to Metal. I have been considering these or the Rai Penta. I listen to a wide variety of music, however, heavier metal is definitely my go to feel good music. Have never used any head phones or IEM before. These days alone time to listen to my home audio system at the levels I enjoy is rare. So have been looking for a good sounding set of phones or IEM for a portable setup so I can enjoy my music more often.
That would have been great to have. We weren't able to get an IE600 loaner and don't currently carry Sennheiser, but I'd love to get my hands on one to do a shootout.
Great review, thanks! You say the advar is one of the best heavy metal IEM you've heard under the 1k mark. What would you say is the very best you've heard, cost no object, for heavy metal?
Probably the Noble Sultan. It’s going to be more accurate generally with stronger resolution, but still slightly warm, with a similar fast bass with good extension, and non fatiguing highs.
@@corentincoulon4867 Yeah, Odin is going to give you some stronger imaging and a larger soundstage, but it's also a little bit brighter, and some listeners report it being more fatiguing.
The biggest difference between the two is that IE-Z1R has a bigger, more powerful low-end, while Advar has less bass emphasis, but a little more color and warm to the sound. I haven't gotten to do a side-by-side though.
I really enjoyed this review and the one you did on the ifi gryphon. I got the gryphon off the back of it and I am really enjoying it. How do you think that the gryphon and the advar would pair together as it's it's looking like the advar or the ie600 for me.
Thanks! So I just pulled out a Gryphon to listen to, and it's a great match. The two really balanced each other out and provide strong synergy, where the mids on Gryphon are a little bit more dry, but ADVAR adds some color and warmth. And then XBass let's you get you a bit closer to Vega-like huge bass, and the XSpace does improve the width of the soundstage a bit.
Clever intro! I like how the channel is progressing, by the way. Thanks for sharing
What a suprise, didn't expect them !
We only found out less than a week ago ourselves!

@@BloomAudio Thanks for the quick reply, it's the one I had my eye on along with the Odin. Really need to give both of them a listen!

Great intro 😂
Me sitting on meze site and seeing the advar: oh, looks like unaffordable for me
So how much they cost?
$699
Any thoughts on advar vs IE-Z1R?

They should now make a wireless product.
shanling mg 600 👍👍
