That “minimalistic” design on the poster is not just a design. That’s one of the original posters from the OG series. I had that same poster growing up and I used it to mark all the Pokémon I caught on the original Red/ Blue gameboy games. You’re right. That poster alone is worth the money. The nostalgia value alone.. I was big into Pokémon from 8 to about 12.. I’m 33 now.
I'm starting to collect Pokemon cards for the first time in my life. The only pack I ever had was a single Fossil pack with Aerodactyl art from 1999 as a kid. As a kid I used to collect Pokemon tazo that were available for several years in Poland in Lays and Cheetos packs, every single kid had some of them back then! I'm super happy of 151 collection coming out in September and being my first set to buy, because it's the most nostalgic gen for me together with some of Johto Pokemon. I have my Vault X binder ready and I'm getting more hyped every day! My wife and kids are getting into Pokemon now too because of me. :)
After this set that’s it for a long time (as far as going in on new sets).. I will take my time buying 151 singles and saving money so I can focus more on my family and possibly taking them on a family vacation … the amount of money I spend on Pokémon , I can definitely afford to take a vacation lol I can care less about anything after gen 3 . Honestly this set is so appealing to me as a Gen 1 guy :D I will for sure collect this set. It looks so good and not a crazy amount of cards is perfect.
The Pokemon Company should do these kind of sets for all of their Generations and see which ones sell the best... we all know the answer to that. They kind of dropped the ball on creativity and uniqueness after Gen 3 and they kind of went, in my opinion, into the money making business only rather than the quality story telling and gameplay approach they originally had. Their attempts to resurrect Pokemon 151's popularity throughout all of their other sets is a joke... this 151 set on the other hand is different in a great way. Though, I'd like to see the Pokemon Company give other generations the same treatment and let the best win!
Getting back into Pokemon cards again and this is the perfect set being a fan of gen 1 where it all started. I'm waiting for the English release next month and preordered the binder set and elite trainer box. ❤

I preordered two ultra premium collections and plan on bubble wrapping them so that I can give both a nice massage with a hefty amount of lotion before I bury each 6 feet underground in two different locations to stay safe for the next couple decades.
Gotta say, the ultra premium collection is juicy as hell, I really like all those different promos. I bought a few of the Charizard UPCs to keep sealed and I'll definitely do the same with these!

not gonna lie, still struggling to complete the crown zenith set and i have bought quite a considerable amount of packs. Even with double bangers, still need a lot of the 'rare' stuff Not sure Pokemon 151 is going to be easy to complete as that's the whole point, get you buy more packs. I'm reserving judgement on pokemon 151 as there is alot of fomo here and is pokemon preying on that. The Mew box looks great since you are getting solely 151 packs and not a mix of other sets, better chance of getting hits hopefully.
The reason why booster bundles don't sell out as fast on PC is because they're more expensive then you're going to see at other retailers. The PC ETBs sell out because they're exclusive.

Just pre ordered the ETB and UPB. I can't wait for this. I am gonna get the whole set. I am gonna take the fam, and go to all the stores on Sep, 22 and get all the booster boxes. This set is gonna be a classic.

Update early 2024 Booster bundles are about $40 a piece now, ETBs are probably the best way to rip booster packs. Or scoop up a booster box display bundle for about 350 (10 booster bundles)

Metal cards are super cool and all, but seeing how difficult they are to get PSA 10... Mehhh, don't like the idea of having to buy multiple boxes.
