To celebrate its four years of existence, its 10 000 flatmates on Facebook and 30 000 on RUclips, 3emeGauche decided to make you love its Advent Calendar even if their no chocolate in it !
From december the 1st untill the 24th, a daily video will be release on 3emeGauche! Dear flatmate, brace yourself, you might be amazed, amused or charmed ! Like the chocolate you discover everyday on your calendar, each video will be a surprise and you'll be instantaneously addicted.
So here is our first acoustic session for this week and it's Kodaline ! Steve, Mark, Vinny and Jason have done everything they could to achieve their dream since their young age. Steve and Mark lived a few step from each other's, in Ireland, and they met at the age of 8. Six years later, they took on Vinny, another neighbor and started their first band. Jason joined them recently to become their bassist.
Everything started in 2012. First, they became the support for The Cramberries European tour, and then they released they first EP. Last June, they released their first album « In a Perfect World » which was a total success.

What I really appreciate about Kodaline is that they do these huge shows in these festivals and arenas, but then at the same time they love to just sit in a room with each other and do a song, or even walk through the streets and its that that I love. They dont just stick behind the red rope barriers going "Don't touch me I'm famous" They like to get up close and personal and do these intimate shows. That is one reason as to why they are so damn good in my opinion, and I am so happy that I did a cover of this song cos it is my favourite.

Absolutely. This is why I fell in love with the band. Full, up close fan participation, meeting fans in queues before a show. Makes you feel closer than just the music and that you're part of their journey. Not charging £95 to sit at the back of a 100,000 seat arena and not get close. Kodaline keep it real!

I coud still remember the very first time I heard this song. It was at that time when my grandma started getting sick. She and my grandpa raised me and my younger sister since my mother decided to have her own family. My grandma and I were so close. When she started getting sick I started to have this kind of fear, fear of loosing her. Every time I hear this song it reminds me of her. Just the thought of loosing her brings me so much pain how much more when it happened. She died last April 1, 2020 while I was at work. I can't even come home and see her for the last time due to this pandemic. I go on everyday wishing she's here. There's this ripping pain in my heart only her can take away. The lyrics that goes, if I could see you once more, I could die a happy man I'm sure, that resonates to me every time. I wish she took me away with her. Wished she took my body along with her so I won't need to miss her every day. Gosh the days are painstakingly long.💔💔💔🖤🖤🖤

My mum passed away on Thursday of cancer. Myself sister and dad all watched her last breath in the hospice. I know now she is not in pain and in peace. This song is just so powerful in so many ways. Thank you for the beautiful music x
