    I've been bashing with my XLX2 and 1100kv motor with 35/47 gearing on my Outcast 8s for about 3 months now with zero issues. Lots of 20ft + jumps and landing on concrete sometimes. Lots of abuse. I haven't even done the firmware update yet. Now the shock shafts bending and shock rod ends breaking is another story! Waiting on those massive Rovan shocks with 10mm shock shafts.

      Does it wheelie easily with that gearing? What about mid air correcting?

    • @joseCalderon1976
      @joseCalderon1976 2 года назад

      @@hydroboy35th Yes it does, but longer term, after around a year, I destroyed too many batteries, because they were getting too hot. No matter the brand. Also, the bullets going into the board for the XLX2 came off from the battery side. Castle told me that 30/47 gearing is the maximum you should run with this set up. I had constant 500 amp spikes, so that's a no no. Go with 30/47 gearing for this set up. I've been having diff issues too with my 8s Arrmas and I believe it's the 12HP that they're XLX2 generates.

    Totally agree with offroad speed runs. Offroad vehicles are much more stable off road and you don't kill the tires for no reason.

    lower kv must be so much cooler. those xt90 plugs are nice even though small. they can handle like 200 amps continuously for 10 seconds before the wires melt off. and like 120-150 amps with no melt.

    Hey Joe. Awesome footage man. I've had zero diff issues until I put on vitavon diff housings on my K8S and O8s. I've found there's to much slop in the input gear with the bearing in the center driveshaft. I shimmed the input gear right behind the gear in front of bearing. I found Axial AX31269 shims they are 18x15x0.2 come in a pack of 6. I used 2 on the input gear. Hope this helps. Keep making great videos 👍

    First I love watching your videos.I just got the kraton 8s exb w/the xlx2 w/1100kv combo and I have know idea how to gear it or what spur gear to use its just kinda limited with the stock motor mount any help would really be appreciated thanks.

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  3 года назад

      I believe the EXB comes with a 39t spur. So if that’s the case you will need a 30t pinion, if the motor will go in far enough for that to work. 1100kv may be a bit much but so long as the firmware is updated on the castle esc it may be ok with a faster ratio

    How do you like those duratrax wheels/tires? I like the stocks so far but they are almost done. Not sure if I want to switch to belted. I don't want to effect pitch control in the air.
    Also, what are you using in your center diff? Looks tight and wheelies nice. Good work brother 👏

    Would it be okay to use EC5 to QS8 adapters for the batteries? QS8 is an uncommon plug to use, and I'd rather not sacrifice a set of lipos just to have those on there for one rc car running the xlx2... I'm just worried about the connectors getting damaged, or even the batteries themselves.
