@@delilahgillis5287 are you in the US or in the UK Delilah? If you’re in the US I would suggest Princeton snap brushes which you can get from anywhere that sells craft things. If you’re in the UK I would suggest a visit to WHSmith’s and get some of the brushes they have on offer there. Let me know which country you’re in and I’ll give you more information.

I have a new word for mud! New sub from the US here. Love your accent! I'm an abstract acrylic artist but I adore your watercolors! As I was watching your video, a fourth idea came to mind. When the splatter tree outline/template was still wet, I would have turned it wet side down on the cardstock and gently pressed to transfer the paint. This would give the outline of a tree and space on the inside for a message or a contemporary decoration such as a string of lights, concrete poetry, etc. Also, I liked the effect of the blue masking fluid. It made the baubles glow.
I made the first two today & they look really great . The first is my favourite , made more to send as postcards to UK groups I'm with sending to care homes etc

Diane, you are a Genius!!! I made 7 of these yesterday, just the ones with the spray of the toothbrush, I never had soooo much fun in my life, making a bunch more, thank you sooo much for this! Merry Christmas 🎄🎄 I didn’t make cards, just 5x7 for frames and my one I put the tree too low so I just place a half tree higher on each side, so cute!

I've no patience sometimes, so this is my second go round. I've taped the first card into my sketchbook, and I always take a photo of all my hand-painted cards before they get mailed. We just finished our rainy season in Southern Arizona near the border of Mexico. So dry in fact, my paints dry in a second! At first I thought these were a mess but I love the way you brought out the boughs, “airy fairy” 😅 and I’m making bunches of these sweet trees! I still need either more practice with the toothbrush or a little different toothbrush…or both. Thanks Diane. 11.5.22
Hi Katherine, so glad you persevered with the trees! Good to know you’re having fun with this idea. It’s quite liberating! I do have a favourite toothbrush which has quite stiff but not too stiff bristles. Soft ones don’t work so well really.
