Thank you for this! The shop would have taken a lot of time and money. I replaced my line for 46 bucks. This video gave me everything I needed down to the wrenches. Getting the hose twisted around the right way to get it back in was a puzzle. That took the longest time.
I got quoted $700 a moms and pops shop and $1,100 at dealer I don’t have that type of $- so thank you so much I will do this my self now that I have a good understanding.
Great video to reference when I got stuck. Things that help are drill with deep 11mm, a short 16mm and remember the pump to booster line is a pain on the pump side. Also remove the tire if jacking it up in the garage...makes life much easier
Some nice work there, thanks for posting. Couple things that help me - tape the ends of the new lines while snaking them in, helps keep threads clean. If that spot at the steering gearbox is a real bugger, take the other pipe off to give more room. Replace o-ring always. Stay gold.
Gracias amigo! Without guys like you I would be spending several hundred dollars and worried about my next month's rent. Appreciate you boss keep the vids coming
Thank you so much. Didn’t think I was going to get the old line out, much less get the new one in. That curves a bit tough. Well explained. Great vid. 👍
Excellent video. Easiest to follow of any, and no amateur acting with the camera of the face while demonstrating complete ignorance of English grammar and a total inability to speak coherent sentences. At 4:09 that is a 5/16 or 8mm bolt that is removed with a 1/2" or 13mm socket.
just did the line from booster to pump. If I had to do it all over again I would of pulled off the tire so I can get in there. Installing the line to the pump was a bear, that was the only hard part.
Ok guys i have the same problem on my 07.5 duramax. Can someone tell me if i have to take the fluid out of the pump before disconnect any hose? Thanks really helpful video 👍
Brake fluid is separate from the hydroboost (power steering fluid). They do not mix, do not have to do anything with brake fluid. SHOULD drain your Steering fluid before doing the job. To save mess and provide clean fluid for new lines. Use a turkey baster, fluid vacuum pump, hand pumnp etc to remove the fluid from steering fluid reservoir. Stay gold.
ruclips.net/video/RgovNX2gLVE/видео.html Steering pump bypass valve needs to get opened, AND brake pedal pushed to fully flow the hydroboost fluid. Put two pieces of slippery carboard under each front wheel to help turning the steering wheel. No special tools required. Stay gold.

Informative guide tips. On my '05 Avy 1500 5.3, other than the charge pipe all else (remove/replace) is primarily the same procedure. Much appreciated

Good video but one question why didn’t u remove the tire I did and it gives u a lot more room to work
How do I bleed the system without the bleeding tool?
Best video
What’s up man. What are the 2 separate lines called? I wouldn’t mind changing both of mine while I’m down there.

Great video, and no swearing. LOL
Do i have to empty my brake reservoir aswell before replacing line?

Mine keeps leaking at the pump bad prongs of pump
The same applies for the 6.0 gaser?
Gas should be similar, as long as its hydroboost brakes. No turbo pipe to remove, might even be easier.

Is a special tool to bleed the hydro booster absolutely necessary? Working around a budget
Hydro boosters are self bleeding I believe

Did you have to empty the fluid to do this job?
no, just refill as needed and bleed it
Good old disintegrated GM wiring loom
anyone know the part number?
Do you have to raise up the truck
Usually a 2500/3500 with stock tires you can just remove inner fender. Lots of room.

I noticed no fluid all over the place. Is there a way to drain the fluid first? I’ll be doing my this week
