But of course, I literally just said "could've" twice in one sentence. Every sports fan knows that it doesn't pay to talk about "What ifs," but it's hard not to when your team hadn't been to the title game in 74 years and probably won't be back again for a long time.
Yes, there were a lot of other factors and the Badgers could have done some things better in that championship game. However, there is no denying that the officiating in the second half cheated Wisconsin out of that title. The game was being called fairly in the first half and Coach K complained at halftime. Nuff said.
I thought we got screwed in the championship game but still that was hell of a run. If only duke actually had to play a good team in the final four rather than a michigan state team that got lucky to be there and got stomped by so much duke got to rest their best players that whole game. Meanwhile wisco had to beat Kentucky in a much more physical game
