- Former Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers defensive end Reggie White was one of the most dominant players to ever play the game. Watch and listen to some of the best moments throughout his Hall of Fame career.
Was Reggie White the most dominant defensive player of all time?
No, he wasn't.
He wuz very good , LT wuz the most dominant player I ' ve Eva seen .
Best DL of all time!
Great video, the man seemed unstoppable.
Arguably so.love reggie but there is this one guy named Lawrence taylor?
As a Giants fan, I can attest to the dominance of Reggie White. Trust me, we didn't like him or the Eagles - at all. However, as big and tough as he was, Reggie went out of his way to NOT hurt the opposing players. If you watch the way he tackles players, you will see what I mean. Bottom line: Reggie White was an all-time great player, but he was an even better human being.
LT and Reggie were both the best.
I was just about to comment on his sportsmanship. You can absolutely tell he's only putting in the force he knows is needed to dominate the play instead of trying to win the game by putting players out like a lot do.
unlike lt
I agree with you. Reggie had my heart.
Great comment!!!
Thank God someone created this video! His talent and heart will never be forgotten. Please never take down this post. Greatest NFL player ever! RIP
Greatest defensive player ever. R.I.P you will always be one of the greatest football players, and human beings ever.
No ANSAH was better
Kody Kaz Yea k.
He would probably have an even bigger impact on the game the way it's played today which is scary. He would be my number one defensive pick if I was building an all-time team. No doubt one of the best talents to ever play the game and a genuinely good guy as well.
@@jizzyjake6783 Aaron Donald has gotta be close to reggies level
Facts
I'd like to say that this man had all clean legal hits on the QB by today's standard. Nothing dirty or malicious just power, control and above all excellence. Truly ahead of his time! R.I.P. Reggie.
He prolly told all the qbs “at some point I’m going to get to you. They ain’t made the guys that can block me yet. So WHEN I get there, n you feel me touch ya, work with me n go down. Cuz I don’t wanna have to hurt you.”
Reggie White was a man of God and he never had no concern about talking about his religious faith to the media. He's an example of how you want a franchise player to carry himself on and off the field.
And he kept the Torah like we should be keeping.
Amen
It hurts how his church turned on him when he tried to preach that
You will always be missed Reggie White. As a die-hard Eagles fan I'm so glad you won a ring and enjoyed your time in Green Bay. You will always be an Eagle and always bleed Green. You were a class act and a True Man of God. A true definition of a real man on and off the field. May your soul rest in peace. God bless you! #Flyeaglesfly #thegoat #Greatestofalltime
I watched Reggie more when he was at Tennessee, than I did in the pros. He was like a tornado going thru a new trailer park every week. Nobody could stop him!
R.I.P REGGIE WHITE
R.I.P REGGIE WHITE
I think I speak for every Eagles and Packers fan out there when I say that he was a once in a lifetime player and person. RIP Reggie.
I'm a high school DE and I aspire to be as good as Reggie White. Much respect to this man
Well? How'd it go?
People compare JJ Watt to Reggie White... There will never be another Reggie White. Wow.
+H Scott OMG thank you sir took the words right out of my mouth. JJ is on the right path that's for sure remember its about longevity as well because one catastrophic injury could end your career in a heartbeat

I guess they do that sometimes because Reggie White is JJ Watt’s idol
Incredible tackler, flawless technique, but a clean hitter. Incredible size and speed
Minister Reggie White, was a legend from the football field to the poolpit in church. My ( GOD ) BLESS HIM AND HIS FAMILY !!! RIP MY BROTHER !!
The best defensive player ever!
May your soul forever rest in peace!!!
G.O.A.T on Defence!!!
I'm from Wisconsin and the 90's were some great times for the Packers. I was much younger then(haha) but one of the things I remember most about Reggie was his power..he would take on 2 players at once and move them aside with 1 arm..guy was a beast. A true gentlemen.
These youngsters today can't understand how great that man was. I mean he would beat you in the game then after the game pray with you and your entire team including some of the coaches in the middle of the field. Reggie White was an awesome man!
he was like Richard Seymour former patriots and raiders legend but the times ten version because of how complete he was against both the run and the pass
I use to go to church with Reggie he was a a genuine good person. Always took the time to say hello to everyone very humble. R.I.P Reggie White the Minister of Defense.
man..........Reggie White was like the best defensive player of all time!!!!
Reggie White was straight up Angel and a Monster at the same time.
Amen
As a Packers fan who lives too close to the Minnesota boarder, I was going to start my sophomore year of high school when the Green Bay Packers signed Reggie White. We were stunned when the KARE 11 sportscaster of Minneapolis/St Paul, MN mentioned that the Green Bay Packers signed Reggie White to a 4 year, $17.4 million dollar deal to play for Green Bay. My dad's reaction was "how the hell were they able to sign him? They are going to the super bowl!" They did and he got his ring.
Hey NFL you should start a new series where the greats of today are compared to the greats of old because im 18 i didnt get to see the 70's and so forth i would love that
Hits you right in the feels..
Tennessee Tough. that's my man Reggie miss you so much. GO VOLS!!!
I enjoy these NFL videos
Cool
Reggie White to me was the Shaquille O'Neal of the NFL such a good person
besides qb the most impact for a free agent on a franchise , am I wrong?
Reggie White is definitely one the greatest of all time. BUT, during his time in Philly, remember, he had Jerome Brown and Clyde Simmons on the line with him. Imagine those three playing on the same team in today's NFL. RIP Reggie, RIP Jerome.
yeah I could have seen that
Reggie White was a great football player. He was a legend. I never saw him play dirty or try to hurt anyone. But he was a man of God, with morals and a sense of truth. He was a shining example of how we should live our lives.
As a Giant fan, I was very happy to see him go to GB. Best DE ever.
This video made me tear up. 😭😭
R.I.P Reggie White 🦅🦅🦅🦅
( December 19, 1961 - December 26, 2004)
He was a beast, who never ever tried to hurt anyone. Gracious son of our Lord. But, dang he could wipe out anyone on the field.
I don't think it mattered where you put Reggie on that D line, he was gonna apply ridiculous pressure... Amazing player....
Truly a master of his craft... The reason I switched from OL to DL... ✌️🙏❤️
I hate seeing Reggie in a Packers uniform, but I'm glad he got the super bowl he deserved
+NeoTenic We welcomed him with pride here in Green Bay ;)
There was this fierce offensive tackle, out of MSU, named Tony Mandarich. He was supposed to be the most feared offensive lineman to ever enter into the NFL. He was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the first round in 1989.
Into the season, The Packers face The Eagles when White was playing for them.
After the game, a reporters asked fellow defensive lineman, Jerome Brown, what was it like to play against Mandarich. Brown replied, "I was afraid I was going to break an ankle out there." The reporter queried why and Brown responded, "Because I didn't know which way Reggie was going to throw next."
Savage.
He does it with so much grace, his technique even involves protecting everyone that he’s taking down
The G.O.A.T of D linemen period . M
You have gym strength and you have country cornbread fed strength. They are not the same. Rip Minister of Defense
Greatest free agent signing in Green Bay's history. Woodson was a great one too, but Reggie, man, nobody can do it like he did.
He was absolutely an idol of mine growing up. Great man
Class act stand up guy my favorite player of all time
The minister of defense; the LEGEND, Mr. Reggie White 🏈👏👏👏👏👏
1:02 This is Reggie's moment with Jerome Brown. I missed both of them
R.I.P. Reggie White.
This man never hurt one quarter back in the NFL! He tapped them and set them down into a marshmallow! Such a gentle giant. I absolutely adore his strength but admire his humanity even more! What an idol of a man for the thugs out there now, with hood attitude in the NFL. Go Pack! Go Pack of Eagles!
this made me cry
greatest defensive player ever I'm glad I was alive as eagles fan to see this guy destroy teams single handedly...
A holy man who was an UNholy terror.
Blessed... an advocator of the oneness of mankind. "O Lord, glorify his station, shelter him under the pavilion of Thy supreme mercy, cause him to enter Thy glorious paradise, and perpetuate his existence in Thine exalted rose garden,.." ~ Baha'i Prayer
I’m glad I have a bipap machine. I wish Reggie White would’ve been able to have one. It would’ve saved his life. Probably one of-if not-the greatest defense player ever.
Reggie White was the strongest Football player I ever saw in my not so short life. He would consistently beat being double and triple teamed.
HE WAS SO STRONG THREE PEOPLE COULD NOT STOPPED HIM,I AM 75 YEARS OLD ,I SAW HIM PLAYING
rip reggie the best defensive player in history
man I miss those days.
Reggie White the GOAT!! Class act!! Loving wife and family...he gone to soon. Rip.
Wow, this guy was a monster on the field. I bet he played a big role with Philly too.
norman braymon made a mistake not singing him
Greatest d lineman in the history of the nfl in my opinion
Dominant Eagles player
We love and miss you Reggie!
@ 3:03 ..He tossed the Linemen like a damn child..
awesome vid
Love. This family
A legend
You can go anywhere an be great.....but u can come to Green Bay and be a legend
The most dominant defensive lineman to play
Rest in Peace, Champ.
3:01 Announcer 1: "Did he come quick"
Announcer: "oh did he come quick "
Pause.
Bruce Smith..... all day every day
Reggie White and Derrick Thomas, two best defensive players of all time.
Lt is better than derrick thomas.
mike white Well no shit, Derrick grew up idolising LT. But Derrick Thomas had a lot of the same similarities, having seven sack games.
Cornelius bennett, bruce smith?
+Kivon B. Bruce Smith was a huge pile of bull shit it took him an extra 7 years to break Reggie's record and not all of Reggie's sacks counted because he played in the USFL
+H Scott if u mention smith though bennetts in the conversation
BEST DEFENSIVE PLAYER IN THE HISTORY OF THE GAME..PERIOD
Sean t next I would love that
I'm a Die Hard Chicago Bears fan man I hated how he demolished our QB's back in the days. #GOAT
I like to retract my statement- Reggie was not only the GOAT DE, but the greatest defensive player of all time. LT is a close 2nd. He was also a very awesome, nice guy.
He made QB's have nightmares before, during, and after the game.
We miss this man and his family
He is the only DLman who sacks the QB without the intention to hurt. Just sports
His sacks get all the highlights, but he was just as good against the run.
I'll never forget a week or two after he signed with Green bay, The media asked him, "Why did you sign with the Packers?" Reggie said he had prayed to god and asked, "what team should I sign with to finally win a Super bowl?" He said the Lord answered "Green bay." You kinda got the impression the announcers were kinda 'rolling there eyes'. Four years later the team won it in New Orleans!
If thats not a testament to how spirituality connected he was to God. Then I don't know what is.
G.O.A.T Packers defense men period. We miss you Reggie.
Not true. He told the Packers god would help him make his decision (I assume he told all teams he visited this). Holmgren called him and he didn't answer so the voicemail he left said "Reggie, this is God, go to Green Bay" The rest is history. What a talent
Erick Williams from the 90's Cowboys team completely shut him out from games...DBOYS! 👌
Lol no
Priscilla is another delusional Cowboys fan! Lol!
not a single replay in that video is against the Cowboys.
Priscilla Loya C'mon girl... There will never be another Reggie White. Do you know who that man is????? You can trash the Eagles all day and I wouldn't care but don't do that to the Great Reggie White.
he was a dirty player though most d-lineman will tell you
They will not call you Minister of Defense for nothing right?
I wish we had a player like him now in GB
Best pass rusher. Ever.
He doin it tha right way
Fun fact, Lawrence Taylor of the Giants said Reggie White was the greatest defensive player in NFL history
The Minister of Defense. Truly great. Didn't even beat his baby momma or nuthin'. Can you even get into the NFL today with credentials like that?
Rip Reggie white
Guy was a monster. Total mismatch. Speed rush, bull rush, you're scared shitless of me rush. Intimidator. Erik williams gave him all he could handle and more than he wanted. But that was about it one on one OT versus DE. I thought he saved his energy for 3rd and long and didn't destroy people as much against the run, but he could have.
Screw once in a generation, he was once in a lifetime
G.O.A.T Defensive Lineman
my favrorite d linemen rip reggie
Rest on peace Reggie white i went to Tarpon high school we played against Jerome Brown he went to Hernando high school where he died in a car accident r.i.p. Jerome Brown
The minister of defense will be forever missed
Legend
This video is good but barely scratches the surface. MANY times you would see him just erase the guy who was trying to block him (like what happens at 3:02 in this vid) but the QB managed to get a throw off before Reggie got to him.
I remember he was on Celebrity Jeopardy and didn't know any Bible answers.
it’s a shame... it seems like the more we pay the NFL players the less they become like this guy^... RIP Reggie
Unequivocally THE best lineman to ever step on the field. If you’re debating it on here, YOU. SIR. ARE. INSANE. or too young to know better.
Rest In Paradise Minister of Defense
G.O.A.T period!!!
I’m not crying, you’re crying!
