Man I watched this guy a lot at Wisconsin. He got better every year. This year in the ncaa tourney he was Wisconsin's main guy. He can be a real star in the NBA not just a role player. For the rockets he can be our bench scorer that we desperately need. Then after a few years starting forward. Great pick I smell that championship coming next year!!!
If he's smart, he stays his senior year and works on his shooting consistency. He's going to be a good NBA player, but staying a year will help him more than hurt, and will give the Badgers a shot for a run again.
It's unfortunate they didn't win it all, but the back-to-back wins against Arizona and Kentucky was easily the most impressive accomplishment by any team in the tournament.
Like to see the Celtics draft him since their only "small forwards" are Jae Crowder, Evan Turner and James Young..... Evan and James are sg/sf and are not true small forwards and Jae Crowder is a versatile guy that can guard 2s, 3s, 4s and Al Jefferson, but he is only 6ft 6in and none of those guys shot the three that well... Sam is a legit SF at 6ft 9in, can shoot the ball well (I imagine he will get better since his show is not broken) and would play well in Brad's system....
i hate to say it and compare, but this guy is a better Chandler Parsons... can create for himself, super athletic and loves the game of basketball... rockets might have gotten a steal
Wisconsin Badgers thanks and tell sam dekker good job against the both wildcats and good luck against duke I want to be like him when I get a chance good luck Wisconsin
I know we're suppose to compare him to another white dude like everyone enjoys doing but he reminds me of LaMarcus Aldridge, size and shooting ability.
Young Paul Pierce. He is more athletic than Paul Pierce. He has the confidence of a Steph Curry or Kyrie Irving. I like his approach and edge. I saw him for the first time against Arizona. He is a bad boy.
cflo1386 He's got more range from the 3 point line than LA but Aldridge is a better post up player but the height is identical and they both got a smooth shot.
I agree I have loved L.A since Portland drafted him and that team they had in 07 was one of my favorite young teams and I really thought if healthy they would've won a title.
I'm not sold on this guy. Yeah, he has nice athelicism for a White boy and yes he's better than Parsons......anyone that think Parsons got anything on S. Dekker is smoking bunk. Parsons is a pro right now and have a 4 head start over Dekker. But you can obviously see Dekker is more athelic than Parson was at that stage. I mean, dude got a back-to-basket game that Parsons never had. So, just between two Whiteboys of Parsons vs. Dekker....Dekker will end up the better player, no doubt. With that said, I'm still not sold on Dekker. Most of the guys guarding him were smaller than him. That won't be the case in the NBA. He will be up against fiercer competition and real men that can knock him on his all night. He will come down to earth, quick. Like all Whiteboys eventually do. At his max-ceiling, you looking at a 12 to 15 ppg...but NOT 3 and D guy. More like a 3 and defensive liability guy. The Rockets should have done better. For a PF, whiteboys rarely excel at that spot in the NBA. They're better at the 2 and 3 that's it. Not a 4. The Rockets should have selected R.J. Hunter if they was looking for a shooter. And Montrezl and Woods are good for the 4th spot and fit it at the NBA level which makes the Dekker pick stupid. They should have gone with Montrezl as the 18th pick and Wood as the 32nd pick. I think Dekker would have still dropped further because the NBA knows a PF Whiteboy has no future in the NBA to make a name for himself. Morey botched the 18th pick. R.J. Hunter was their guy.
Welcome to Houston!!!
Bro I like that symbol on you screen saver is that the maverick horse?
Christian Ybarra Yea lmao
It's funny how they lost Deandre Jordan that team gonna be trash
Christian Ybarra Hell yea they will probably barley make the 8th seed
I guess they gotta play us then
Good luck in Houston Sam! My favorite badger for the last three years!

Any other Rockets fan on a highlight video journey?
The Rockets got an absolute steal in Dekker . He fits their team perfectly !
can't wait for the draft this year. dekker and kaminski are gunna be solid nba players in the future
So excited for next season! Great addition to Houston's already stacked team.
If he's smart, he stays his senior year and works on his shooting consistency. He's going to be a good NBA player, but staying a year will help him more than hurt, and will give the Badgers a shot for a run again.
Sam Dekker is capability of playing in the NBA.
buster60341 That's an understatement... he's a lottery pick right now as a junior...
***** What, no. Have you been watching the tournament?
***** Dekker will be a three point shooter in the NBA.
Sam Dekker reminds me of Nikola Mirotic a lot so as Kaminsiky reminds me of Pau Gasol...
Shame that his outside game was off tonight. =/
Sam Dekker Tribute coming up soon when/if Dekker declares for the draft!
Wisconsin Badgers With the 18th Pick in the 1st Round, the Rockets select Sam Dekker from the University of Wisconsin
Red Nation welcomes you. GO ROCKETS!!!
I like how he play the game.. Would fit good in miami ..
houston rockets baby
Rockets..We're going to the Finals!
well

He is playing for the heat next year im calling it.
opp305 We'll see, would be a nice fit.
opp305 Maybe stanley johnson but honestly love both guys
oscar aviles Agreed, both would be great picks.
Rockets baby! 😁
Well close, rockets
Lakers need him, we need people who can actually compete on both ends
Welcome to the Rockets!! #RedNation
Houston, here we come.
Welcome to Houston Sam!
#rednation is in the building. Wisconsin fans, I hope yal are watching the rockets games next season.
Thumbs up if you're a rockets fan watching this 😏
Good luck in Houston Sam!
Need a tournament reel. He's been killing it when it matters most.
chaosmos24 Tournament highlight video of him can be found on my other channel "SamDekker15".
I made this comment before the national title game. Guess I typed too soon. ;(
It's unfortunate they didn't win it all, but the back-to-back wins against Arizona and Kentucky was easily the most impressive accomplishment by any team in the tournament.
chaosmos24 yeah, amazing tourney run nonetheless.
Reminds of Danilo Gallinari just of the way he's not scared to step back and take the 3.
Welcome to Houston!
Love his game I try to pattern my game around him and ginobili.. since im about 6'5 with good handles and not such a good shooter
he's a solid shooter, just not great.
Welcome to the rockets
that dunk at 1:08 ! damn
Welcome to Houston brother! Be ready to win a championship real soon #rednation
Has the swagger of Nik Stauskas
Welcome to the Rockets!!!
Welcome to Houston
Welcome to houston 🚀🚀🚀
Reminds me of Chandler Parsons.
more athletic and better cutter of the ball but worse shooter.
Would have to agree with you there.
Dekker is a better all around and ball handler than Parsons.
This boy is a 100x better than Chandler Parsons.
He is in the conversation with Klay Thompson. He is a more athletic version of a young Paul Pierce.
Okay guys stop it. He had a couple of good games against good competition, but he is no Paul Pierce or Klay Thompson, not yet.
Alot of potential could be deadly for the bucks
Welcome to the Houston Rockets!! Sam Dekker SF Wisconsin
Welcome to tha H! I wanted Grant but this is a great fit also. Sergio Llul and Aldrige, come on...
Welcome to H-town
still waiting for Nick Johnson to get his minutes in Houston.....
A young Andrei Kirilenko without the blocking ability but better scorer?
He reminds me a little of Danilo Gallanari. More than Parsons or Hayward. Plays a little like Danny Granger too.
pdut23 Danny Granger is a very good comparison
Welcome to the Rockets!
Like to see the Celtics draft him since their only "small forwards" are Jae Crowder, Evan Turner and James Young..... What song is this
Man this guy can really play. Watch my highlights and let me know if you think my game resembles Sam's.
Some of your game does but i think theres a big difference between you 2 in footwork
Looks like a Celtic
Welcome to Htown
Welcome to Houston I guess
i hate to say it and compare, but this guy is a better Chandler Parsons... can create for himself, super athletic and loves the game of basketball... rockets might have gotten a steal
His jumper is miles better than parsons as well. It's funny Parsons fucks us over and we find TWO better replacements for him in less than a year
nah Drekkel isn't better than Parsons
He shows more promise than parsons ever did. O yea look at parsons and his leg he's done
I agree with that aspect, but as of now to say he's better than parsons when he hasn't even played a summer league is blasphemous
Bryson Jones
i didnt mean it like that but hopefully we can both agree that chandler parsons is a fuck boy
Song?
Houston Rockets 😈💪
Andre iggy shot release
welcome to the Rockets
Knicks!!!
CHARLOTTE HORNETS
Jeff Green ceiling
Raunchy Billups He can be a little better than that but if he became a Jeff Green that would still be pretty nice.
Song
Javy Lopez "Comin' Up" Sammy Adams
Wisconsin Badgers thanks and tell sam dekker good job against the both wildcats and good luck against duke I want to be like him when I get a chance good luck Wisconsin
Do koenig also
Looking like mid-April
Wisconsin Badgers Nevermind, check out "Jonathon Zenk"(s) channel for Bronson highlights.
I know we're suppose to compare him to another white dude like everyone enjoys doing but he reminds me of LaMarcus Aldridge, size and shooting ability.
That's a fair assumption he's definitely more athletic than L.A, but L.A is a stud.
I would say he's more of a poor mans Kevin Durant mixed with Gordon Hayward but he is hard to compare to an NBA player.
Young Paul Pierce. He is more athletic than Paul Pierce. He has the confidence of a Steph Curry or Kyrie Irving. I like his approach and edge. I saw him for the first time against Arizona. He is a bad boy.

Nobody goes to Wisconsin and becomes a defensive liability in the NBA. You obviously don't know anything about Bo Ryan and the Wisconsin Badgers...
I feel Papanikolao is a better player and they got rid of him for this kid.
Doug McDermott is better and struggled his first year. At best decker is Linus Kleisa. U just Don't see much!
+jvadoptante you're an idiot
lol
Welcome to the rockets
