    Sorry Davide, I can't hear you over your stove! 😂 Good tip on the simple pasta! There is no need to go super fancy, but I usually like to add a few more spices, which don't weigh anything and add lots of favour - cumin, curry and oregano are probably my favourites.

    • @DavideTravelli
      @DavideTravelli  4 года назад +6

      Lol Alee, I have humble means I cant afford your production value, I'm just an amateur. Yes obviously you can add more spices, usually in Italy we keep it very simple to let the produce be the glory of the dish.

    • @DavideTravelli
      @DavideTravelli  3 года назад

      Ciao Stefano, welcome! Yeah car petrol doesn't burn clean, try to get the cheapest one as it has less additives. The best fuel is white gas aka Coleman fuel. it burns super clean like a gas canister, you can hold the pot with your hands.In some countries you can find it at every supermarket in others at the hardware store, in some others it's very difficult to find or simply illegal.

      Yes it’s more convenient than gas canisters and cheaper and more efficient. The best fuel for this kind of stoves is white gas but gasoline works well too. If you go on a long trip it’s defo the way to go.

    Do you have any tips on how best to clean cooking pots when you have only small amount of water?

    • @DavideTravelli
      @DavideTravelli  3 года назад +1

      They sell small spatulas for cleaning camping pots, with one of those you can clean most of it. Also you can boil a small amount of water to make some tea, while the water boil you cover it and then with the spatula you should be able to finish cleaning. You leave a few drops of tea and complete the cleaning and drying with a microfiber cloth. Those cloths can clean without soap and then every once in a while you just boil them, look up e-cloth for example.

    By foreign people, you mean ALL people who aren’t foreign, (sorry, I mean Italian?) those foreign people who were cooking pasta many, many years before you were born? Before your parents were born too, possibly. Pasta isn’t new to anyone anymore Davide, Italians cook it the way they do because it’s cheap! Few ingredients, was secondary to cheap and available initially. It’s the same the world over, with old style cooking being superseded with a more glamorous and expensive ingredients, because they are more available and more affordable today.
    The end of WW2 brought many Italians to U.K., we have large communities of Italians in Wales. We learned to cook pasta from them long before I was born. Of course Italy claims to be the birthplace of Pasta dishes, I don’t doubt it, but if I am a foreigner, so are you! Do you cook rice, French fries, or eat roast beef?
