    We loved the Grandeur -and serenade-it had shower doors-we loved them-the food was great and the fact theyre smaller is fine with us -less kids -and the reason the same food is on the menu is because people like it and its the feedback coming from the passengers-windjammer is buffet -duh -you people are terrible snobs.Please dont be on my next cruise

      Snobs is a new one lol. Thanks for watching!
      As we mentioned, we enjoyed serenade when we went last year. It all depends on who you go with and if the people around you are enjoyable.
      Everyone has a different opinion, and we’re just sharing ours in this video.

    First time watching your videos and really enjoyed it. Love your perspective. Leaving on an Enchantment cruise this week and chose the ship for all the things you mentioned; ie sit by the pool, do nothing, eat, few children, etc. 🙂 very much agree with your comment of researching the ship before you book a trip. Most excellent point you made. Also remember, ships don’t have floors. 🙂 great job, keep up the videos.

    Sorry to keep commenting but the crowd on the ship are very key, you are totally right. Generally I like going on when many US passengers as they are more lively than UK and Europeans (I’m from the UK) but you are right the age as well. I went on a New England cruise on the Liberty and it was deserted by 10.00pm, also a 3 day weekend cruise on Freedom, out of Miami and the ship partied to the early hours. So key factors when booking, what you looking for destinations or the ship to be the destination, so choose appropriately but also what kind of crowd is likely to be in the ship, shorter weekend, young vibe, longer trips. out of season, older, slower pace, which some people prefer, me, in my 50’s, a mix of the two.

      These are great tips, so thank you for all the comments lol. This sailing was definitely eye opening for us. A lot more goes into picking the perfect sailing than we thought (we meaning Eryck because Morgan warned me😂). We're going on Icon at the end of the year and then we'll probably stay between freedom & quantum class going forward. We aren't partiers or heavy drinkers. We don't necessarily need all the extra amenities of the big ship, but enjoy people watching, so bigger ships work better for us lol.

    That atrium looked beautiful. I like that they try to get to know you and remember your names. Probably why there's lots of people who like the small ships. It's more personable.

      @@philanddeetravelsWe really like the idea of small ships! The familiarity and interactions with the staff is unmatched. We LOVED Serenade when we went on it with our friend group. It is also a smaller and older ship, but it had a few more upgrades. I think the new class of smaller ships will be perfect for us.

    Good vlog as it warns people that you must do your research before you go on a ship, otherwise can end up with the experience you had. RC have really focused on the family and from Voyager class forward, there is a lot to do on those. However, the Vision class and you could argue the Radiance class (although you did enjoy Serenade, so as you say the crowd play a big part as well) ships are older and don’t fit that brand image, they reflect a time when cruising was, eat, drink, relax and destinations, the newer ships are the destinations in themselves. So it’s all about your expectations, I have done this ship at the end of 2.5 weeks on travelling southern US, so was happy just to chill. (I’m from the UK), Also done the Vision of the seas, same class as Enchantment, as had only done previously bigger ships, my expectations were very low, in fact it was better than I thought but it was a Med cruise, it was all about great destinations nearly every day, so did not need much from the ship, apart from rest and food. RC are bringing out a new “smaller ship” ( still bigger than this most probably) so be interesting how they design this ship of “making the ship the destination” when they have a smaller space. But just think, smaller old ship, go for the destination, want the ship to be the destination then the medium to bigger ships. As from the UK I like a bit of sun in winter, 7 day Caribbean cruise in mid Jan starts from $550, on this class ship, which is excellent price. So they can be useful in the right circumstances but your family circumstances were very different.

      @ATravelingBlackCouple  2 месяца назад

      100% agree that research and setting expectations are important. I think we came in expecting to do as we had on the previous ships and were let down when we realized we couldn’t. I can definitely see this ship as a drink, chill in the pool, and splurge on excursions type of trip (that's exactly what we did😂). On our previous sailings (Independece 2x & serenade) we only did 1 excursion and the ship made up for the rest of the days. As far as how RC plans to make these smaller ships into "the destination", I think just adding the sports court and maybe the flowrider would be enough! Each wouldn't take up too much space. Late night basketball on serenade was our daily routine lol.

      I am sure you will love Icon, you are sound the same kind of cruisers as us, have a few drinks, want it to be lively around us but not to be too involved yourself. I haven’t done Icon yet but done all the other class ships, now I enjoy what the ship provides rather than what it’s missing. As started with the smaller ships I wasn’t sure if the bigger ships were going to be too big, but the bigger the better. If budget allows and time (I know we get far more vacation leave in UK than you do in the US) but if you can I would recommend an Alaska cruise and then spend few days in Alaska, or come over to our side of the pond and have a Mediterranean cruise. As said before, so many good ports and history that what ship you go on is not so important, so can get a better deal on smaller ships.

      We’re trying to catch up to you😂 We’ve been eyeing an Alaska sailing for next year on Anthem of the Seas! And I’ve been itching to get back on Virgin. They have a Mediterranean sailing that I think will be really good. Thank you for this advice!
