Margeurete is a gem of a presenter. I liked all the homes in this episode but my my favourite was house 1. It was all about the open plan living and the garden.
It is always a pleasure to watch escape to the country for I don t know English country at all...All the districts are gorgeous and make me dream, as the beautiful cottages with their cosy atmosphere...Hello from Paris, France ❤
I'm pleased that she got the house she wanted, but I do wonder if she's still living there. Unless she's partly working from home an hour's commute to the station each way five days a week would soon become tiresome. On top of that, there's no proper garden for the cats, just a shared courtyard (unless there's countryside very close by which we didn't see). She obviously fell in love with the property though, so I hope it worked out. Thanks for the upload!
I felt the same about the mystery house. I didn't like the commute to work and lack of privacy. The kitchen felt a bit tiny with little to no room to move about.
That first house was stunning! Especially the really lovely accessible garden. Second house was overpriced, because it was in the heart of Milton maybe? Not sure I would have felt I had to choose the only low budget property, might have checked in with a local realtor so that I could have a garden.
I loved the 1st house. It was a detached, upside living that opened into a garden unlike other upside down houses, ¼ of a garden with amazing views, just one neighbour, big spacious living room and kitchen, big spacious bedrooms with a sleek modern bathroom, and above all, very close to work. I would rather go above budget to live closer to work in a detached house with outside space with only one neighbour than a cheaper option with almost an hour commute to work, 3 neighbours, a smaller kitchen and no outside space hence why i won't choose the mystery house. The 2nd house wasn't an option because it would beed total renovation abd felt closed it plus not a great location to work.
Always Njoy Margherit she has a warm and kind personality. Love this episode the best in a long while. Dont really like the fact that she doesn't have a garden. The communal garden is so small.
those petit-fours on the kitchen table was trollbait. The property has 4 winows and is quite tiny, hence the petit-fours... totally trolling the buyers...
I understand that she liked the inside of the mystery house but the outside? No private outdoor space, no views and a one-hour commute. Oh well. Obviously it just clicked. But I think I would have simply rented something first and kept looking for something with a small garden at least.
The 1st house had everything you mentioned, private outdoor space and just 17min to work, additionally the house was detached with just 1 neighbour, open plan spacious living and dining. It's not everyday you find a house 17min close to work.
Well, I'm disappointed with this episode. The buyer had a $300,000 budget. The first two house were listed higher. The buyer want a garden and view. The second house had neither. Total failure.
If the housing stock isn't available they can't magic it up. So she can't get what she wants or she ups the budget or changes location to a town instead of village edge. Tho' this was way back in 2016 I doubt it's got much better, certainly now it's even more expensive.
I was expecting to see terraced and semi-detached homes or even a condo for that price range. The mystery house could have done with a half-bath downstairs since both bathrooms upstairs were en suite. Any guest would have to travel through a bedroom to get to the bathroom. Anything close to the water would be at a premium so prices weren’t surprising.
The 1st house was over budget but the presenter mentioned there was room for negotiation. It had everything she wanted and was very close to work. Personally I would have happily tried to negotiate and paid extra for it.
Exactly, attached, tiny kitchen I can hardly move around in, ensuite bathrooms that guests will move through my bedroom to get to, no garden, shared courtyard with 3 other homes. The only selling point was the price but then a huge compromise of over an hour's commute to work. The 1st house was way better.

Me too. I loved the 1st house as well. It was much more spacious and private with just one neighbour, your own garden and just 17mins to work.
She’s so warm and has a lovely calm way about her.

You also have stunning countryside in France too.
Hello from Liverpool England 🏴 Merseyside 😃
Beautiful properties! Delighted she got the house she liked.
So happy Ali got her new beautiful home, and I know her daughter loves it too. Thank you

Lovely episode. So pleased she got the house of her dreams
Splendid properties and three fantastic people made this an endearing episode. The sections on sailing and vineyard visit were welcome additions :)
I'm glad she found her dream home!
This was a lovely episode with Margherita. Thanks for sharing it!🎉

The 1st house was the best. I believe with negotiation she could have gotten it for cheaper than its asking price
Very happy to know that she found.her dream home. 👌👍❤

The communal garden is so small.
24:33 weird they don’t mention it’s en-suite - that seems like it would be a big bonus.
👍👍👍 Real full episode including end credits. Every episode of Escape To The Country should be of this audio, visual and editing quality.

Mystery house is too far away from work.
Exactly almost an hour with only a shared courtyard as well, no privacy, small kitchen
Allie looks just like Jane Austen🥰
Agreguen subtitulos por favor.
House 1👍👍 The commute Just 17m.👍 House 3 had nu private outdoors and 1 hour of commute..no...👎1 was perfect beautiful sorry.
fwom where the gwapes have come fwom! Ghastly plonks and guaranteed migraines

It's not a failure! She bought the third house which was under budget
I agree. And yes, the prices will have trebled at least !@@BritGirlJay

Her 'friend' wants to be her..... she idolises her.
Don't you have friends you adore? Don't be snarky.
The mystery house is a flat!!! Nothing special!!!
